  1. I too have done 4 x 90° on K series head bolts it feels more even, it certainly does no harm. 20 Nm not 2
  2. From the Caterham supplied HLB loom.
  3. Spent several frustrating hours at Paul's today. Symptoms as above, both rear light units disconnected both seem OK, front lights disconnected and again all seems well, fuse pulled from brake light circuit yet still 6.7v going to brake lights with side lights on. With side lights on and ignition off pressing brake pedal switches off the rear lights but not the fronts. wiring checked along the rear chassis rail no damage or chafing. Both stumped.
  4. Thanks for the explanation. You lucky boy.
  5. I understand the significance of the location, however I was under the impression that Stuart worked his magic on the customers own engine. Is this a new development?
  6. Intrigued as to what you have replaced the 150 Sigma with.
  7. Not had the upgrade but have bought several components and had some bits of work done by PP. Always found Stuart very professional and a nice chap to boot.
  8. Is the gearbox central in the chassis? If not, loosen off the engine and gearbox mountings to push the box over to give yourself a little more room. Once out it is a good idea to Araldite a short section of hex key into the plug for future use.
  9. Hi Nigel. Sorry I can't help but one thing I do know is not to touch the throttle on a Sigma on starting. It alters the throttle site. One question, do you wait for the fuel pump to pressurise the fuel line before pressing the start button? Peter
  10. I have one of those, not cheap but I find it invaluable for the 150. This is the other part of the equation.

    Sigma help please

Wil have a play next week, MOT due November 1. Can't believe it's 6 years since it was first registered.

    Sigma help please

Update time. Back from Sunny Spain and had a play with the car. Replaced the cheap Ebay TPS with my old original Ford item. (Local Ford dealer wanted £108 for a new one) New short loom fitted from Caterham, less than £10 inc P&P. Balanced the throttle bodies, re set TPS to 1.04 v (I used two tiny spring washers on top of the plain washers to hopefully stop the thing from vibrating loose) and re set the idle to 950 ish. Only managed a short test run but included some busy town driving and managed a quite smooth 30 mph in 5th, which was impossible last week even in 3rd. I suspect the TBs need will balancing on a regular basis. Fingers crossed that a regular check up will keep it running as well as it did the other day. One question, can the TBs be adjusted individually? Number 4 is different to number 3, only a midges' but 1 and 2 are very well matched.

    Sigma help please

New plugs fitted and TPS re set in Parador car park, hotel guests interested in all the readings on the laptop. Just glad they did not ask what they all meant. TPS was way off again. How does this happen after only a few hundred miles? Good test tomorrow up in to the mountains.
  14. On the ferry to Santander tomorrow, the TPS on my 150 seems to be moving around. Running rough at low revs but flying over 4,000 rpm. Can someone let me know the Ford part number for the sensor please. Might try a new one in Santander. May try new plugs if I can get some in Plymouth. Ta
  15. Ditto, out and back in in less than a day. Two of us but we spend almost as much time looking for the tool we had in our hand just a minute ago as we do actually spannering.
  16. Don't put your spare cable in the boot, place it on top of throttle cable and fix it using a couple of cable ties. Always ready for a quick change.
  17. Sorry for the slow typing.
  18. 2 or 4 short lengths of plywood or scaffold planks will lift the car enough for a trolley jack.
  19. PS Take a chair, ear defenders and a packet of biscuits.
  20. Built my 150 in 2010. Caterham disconnected the vac pipe at the post build check and installed a new map. The car never ran smooth, it popped and banged, pinked and bogged down. I bit the bullet and went down to Essex to see the Two Steves. I recommend them 100%. http://www.tracknroad.com
  21. Hi Nigel 20,000 on mine, oil changed every year, can't ever remember topping up. What did you decide to do about your bubbling paint?
  22. Not yet Colin, as I say it was just a road test to check for leaks etc. I did "make progress" though on the Edenfield by-pass.
