  4. I have a Premier Power F175 upgrade. i am loving it. The Premier Power F175 has really transformed my 7 into something very special. The power delivery is instant, very smooth and a joy to drive across the whole rev range. As mentioned in previous posts I too can provide nothing but praise for Stuart's work and for the quality of the Premier Power product.
  5. I have a Premier Power F175 upgrade. i am loving it. The 150 engine was great but the Premier Power F175 has really transformed the car into something very special. The power delivery is instant, very smooth and a joy to drive across the whole rev range. Stuart does, as mentioned above, work his magic on your existing engine. I was in a position to take advantage of rare opportunity to purchase a pre-assembled engine hence having my old engine for sale.
  6. Caterham 150bhp Sigma engine for sale, 16000 miles. Complete with ECU, throttle bodies, flywheel and clutch. As removed from my car. £2250.00. Engine currently at Premier Power. Premier Power have offered to fit a new cam belt. Premier Power have also offered to install the engine if required for a cost of £350.00 inc vat. Please call Kevin on 07714767371
  7. Have you thought of trying one of Premier Powers ultra light flywheel and clutches? This is what they have fitted to their F200 demonstrator and they recently fitted one to a 125 Sigma Caterham. This transformed the 125 Sigma making the throttle much more responsive, giving the car a very sporty feel. It also makes changing gear feel easier. Fitting these parts also means if you want a performance upgrade from Premier Power in the future, these parts will handle the extra power. Personally having seen this 125 Sigma, I’d say this is a better upgrade than going for the 140 upgrade.
  8. Saw this car around 12.45 on the A45 Coventry Great day for us all to be out and about

  12. Hi Pug 7 Interesting dilemma you are in but being the owner of a Premier Power F175 Sigma, I can highly recommend it. I was previously the owner of a Caterham 150 Road Sport which like others I’ve read about, had driveability issues. I can’t fault this upgrade or the professional service I received from Premier Power whilst the work was carried out. Premier Power won’t sell individual components for their upgrades as they insist they carry out the full installation of your upgrade to ensure it is set up to give the performance you have requested. The finished product not only looks fantastic but is a huge improvement over the previous engine I had and this has transformed the car. The throttle is very responsive, the car pulls very nicely from low revs and has a great sporty sound to it. There are a lot of people here that put the Sigma down and think you need a Duratec to enhance a Caterham. Now the owner of a properly tuned Sigma, I’m not convinced you need the extra capacity of a Duratec. Premier’s reduced weight Sigma punching out 175 bhp puts it in the R300 performance bracket and the F200 in an S3 car puts that in the R400 category and both are 20kgs lighter than their Duratec equivalents. Don’t just take mine or others comments on this, if you can, get down to their open day on Sunday 29th September. See the link on their website to register for the event; here The last open day featured passenger rides in a couple of tuned Sigma powered Caterhams. If you can’t make this date, give Stuart a call and arrange to pop over and see him, it won’t be a wasted trip. It’s worth visiting just to see their facility. Oh and I had to mention the comment about an oil leak on a 175 engine. Surely if it’s been put together properly and looked after should this really happen? These cars get looked after a lot better than some people’s day to day run about!! Funnily enough Premier Power have also got this covered. If you fit one of their Life Racing, Motorsport engine management systems, they have a function to shut the engine down before you cause any damage to your engine should you have a problem. In fact I believe these systems are now fitted to Radical Sports Cars to prevent engine failures. Premier Power ECU's Edited by - K T Scott on 6 Sep 2013 22:05:38
  13. Hi All, I’ve been watching this thread for a while and find the comments very interesting. I have a 150 Sigma Road Sport SV and have to say I was a little disappointed with the fact that these engines don’t give the performance they claim to offer, as well as the poor driveability. The car has been plagued with flat spots and poor cold start driveability since I bought it and I have sent the ECU back for several updates with no real improvements. I’ve driven the Premier Power F155 when it was fitted in their demo car and even been a passenger in the car round Donington. I couldn’t believe the car only had 155 bhp, it felt like a lot more. The improvement in performance is magnified by the improvements in driveability. The throttle response is awesome and the induction noise sounds great. I’ve opted for the F175 option in my car and have to say I am very pleased with the result, it has completely transformed the car. Whilst I may have only done 1500 miles in my car, I’ve seen the testing that Premier Power have done with the F200 and have no concerns these upgrades have been fully tested for durability and engine longevity. As for Premier Power’s F200, well that’s something else. I feel a lot of the comments on this thread aren’t really justified in that the Sigma tuning market has only just started and not many people have yet experienced these cars. I feel that these tuned Sigma engines offer the best levels of performance for both driveability on both the track and the road. Let’s be honest 200bhp in a lightweight sports car offers most of us performance levels that is beyond most of our driving capabilities on the road anyway. I am happy to give anyone a ride out in my car to let these experience the F175 upgrade for themselves. With regards to resale value, I think this is Caterhams view from a Sales perspective with regards to control over the used car market. Having spoken to Stuart at Premier Power, the level of interest in their Sigma upgrades means I don’t think there will be any issues regarding resale values of these cars. Caterhams view on this is that they only buy used cars of standard specification. Well that’s fine, I think a lot of cars get sold on websites like Piston Heads these days or via the Lotus7club. I hope this hasn’t confused the matter further for you Greg, but in my opinion and experience, I would opt for a Super Sport with either a F155 or F175 Premier Power engine, or if funds permit, go F200. The Premier Power F200 Demo car is built using all Caterham parts on a series 3 chassis and weighs in just under 500kgs. Doing the sums, doesn’t that equal performance power to weight slightly over 400bhp per ton (R400 territory!!)? If you have any questions regarding these upgrades please let me know. Kev. 14. Hi Sparky, Have you thought about a bit more performance from your Sigma engine than 140?. Why not contact Premier Power, they offer conversions from 155bhp up to 200bhp. I own a 150 sigma and have driven both the 155 and 200 bhp Premier Power models and they are a big improvement over the standard engines. They also produce a very nice 175bhp upgrade. They even carry out the full conversion for you to ensure everything is set up correctly and you get exactly what you’re expecting. In fact Low Flying have just been on a track day with Premier Power to review the F200 Sigma in Premier Powers own Sigma powered Caterham, so this should be appearing in an addition of Low Flying very soon. Check out their website; here - Premier Power Cheers Kevin Edited by - K T Scott on 22 Apr 2013 19:03:48
