  1. Only just seen your post - if not already confirmed sold, I would like the Front wings and the oil cooler. I'm doing the Hethel sprint on Sunday, if there's a chance of getting the bits there. Hope to hear from you. Paul
  2. Mark, I for one would be disappointed not to be able to go to Hethel. Despite the epic distance. If the problem is purely financial, why not simply ask competitors for a further contribution of (say) £20 to cover the deficit. I can't believe there would be too many objections. On the other hand i'm amazed that there aren't hundreds of club members who would love to compete at such an historic venue in the anniversary year. Paul
  3. Belatedly - a really enjoyable day; grateful to have got a place, and great to be there. Very well done to Kipper Jnr. for his incredible (though expected) improvement on his practice times - and thanks for hauling my fuel can and brolly across the paddock at exit time! Respect to all of you who did quick times - it's said to be a power track, but skill and big b******s come in handy too! Paul
  4. Mark, Whilst delighted to see my name on the list, I think the old x-flow and me might struggle on list 1a's in Class 3! Given my shameful lack of attendance at this year's events, if you wish to pull another name from the hat to bolster Class 3 or other less well-subscribed classes, by all means do so. If not, I will be thrilled to be there - but in Class 2 please! Thank you Paul
  5. Graham/Mark - I can help on the Sunday also, but I'm already committed on Friday and Saturday elsewhere. Paul
  6. Oh well, thanks anyway. Still tempting, despite the fact that they won't fit my car! Paul
  7. Only just seen your ad - are these to suit Dedion or live (Ital) axle? I would need them to be the latter, with the smaller p.c.d. Thanks, Paul
  8. Mark, One place for me, please. I couldn't not attend, - it's about 12 miles away! A word of warning regarding Burton-on-Trent - it can get a little "lively" there on Saturday nights! Derby may be a bit safer (so i'm led to believe). Paul
  9. I'm almost inconsolable as a result of having to pull out of Cadwell (the most expensive sprint of the year, little chance of any money back) yesterday afternoon, for work-related reasons. So I have to make the most of tomorrow! Paul
  10. Yes, I would also like to accept the invitation, plus camping - (I impulse-purchased a '2 second' tent recently so I must try it out - putting it up is a genuine spectator event, and probably made better with added alcohol!) Thanks Paul Collins (also keen for shared crossflow wisdom - though I suspect Dave's driving advice might be of more value!)
  11. Kipper Sadly not doing Saturday (at the moment!) Mike Re: Wheels & Stunners: I'm taking 4x piles of bricks to Aintree - could you distract Ian Keen for me, please?!! Paul
  12. Kipper As you and I seem to be speeding up as we "mature", I fervently hope that the process continues until age and time coincide. I think I have a fair chance if we go on MIRA times, but I don't hold out much hope at Curborough! Paul
  13. Likewise, entry now in the post. Yes it is a bit steep, but not having been there before, I just couldn't say no! Have glanced through the regs and there seems to be a lengthy section about roadgoing cars having to retain original glass etc. but I suspect that it shouldn't rule out plastic aeroscreens. Looking forward to it! Paul
  14. Can I have a Medium, please? Ta very much. Paul Collins
  15. Sorry folks, I too would love to be there, but: a/ The MBO i'm involved in at work reaches it's crescendo on the 29th April, and b/ It's my daughter's birthday on 23rd April. See you at Llandow (Sunday only) though! Paul Collins
  16. Very tempting, as I suspect that there aren't many 15" around with that pcd, but - a/I don't actually NEED them at present (still lots left in the RE720's) b/Not that keen on Ventus tyres c/No room in the garage (I have 4x 13" Ventus tyres taking up space!) However if they were cheap enough (would have to be sub £150), I could be persuaded! Paul
  17. Just seen the post - FWIW i'm keen to do both, despite the inevitable hit to the budget. Well played, Mark! Paul
  18. I feel I must come to the defence of Mike - he really isn't all that old - as I discovered on Sunday, he's only 2 years older than I am, and I am clearly very young indeed! Did someone say something? Paul
  19. Graham/Mark I'm Ok with October 9th, or any November Sunday except the 13th. Paul Collins
  20. Do you mean you enjoy taking to the grass on your final run??
  21. Barbara - As I hadn't seen this post for a few days, I was thinking it was just me! Could I have my number, please (i'm away on Thurs. and Fri)? Thanks, Paul Collins
  22. I actually got one and a half runs in the wet, as Richard brought out the red flag while collecting grass seed (enough to re-seed Wimbledon by the looks of it). The fun was in using the dry bits under the trees, to do all the accellerating/steering/braking, as the rest of the tarmac wasn't much use for any of these. Made up for the fairly miserable showing on the dry runs!

    MIRA today

Despite removing a rear wing (involuntarily) on the last run, I really enjoyed the day - 4 timed runs - great value! Thanks to BB (I bet you slept well, Saturday night) and marshals for all the hard work put in - much appreciated.
