  1. As the previous owner, I can vouch for the provenance of this car - you've made some tasty upgrades since I had it, Mike. I remember the car very fondly; great fun to drive. Good luck with the sale. Paul
  2. Roger, If it is a Performance Wheels cap, the company is very much alive, based in Leicestershire. They can be contacted on 01530 517920. If they are unwilling to deal direct, please let me know; we do business with them, and I will get it organised for you. Paul
  3. I'm on the west (wrong for Nottingham) side of Derby - you are welcome to try the tillets in my car, which is the same spec as yours. Paul
  4. If you suddenly get a rush of offers, Pete, i'd quite like some too. Paul
  5. Can you imagine waking up next to Chris H-H?!!! (No offence, Chris!) Paul
  6. I'm looking for a pair of front Bilstein widetrack dampers with adjustable spring pans and standard springs for a 2003 S3 Superlight, please. With all the upgraded ones i've seen, there must be lots of these sitting in garages. I need them to be in sound order, but don't have to be pristine - the car certainly isn't. Would consider a set of four, if it helps. Thanks Paul
  7. Simon, Please book me a seat for Saturday night (i'll be arriving too late for Friday). Thanks Paul

    A huge vote of thanks

Ian, Blinkin 'eck, Ian - I now know why the car looked as it did! I am now even more glad to have been able to talk to you in the paddock later. When you are ready, it will be good to see you on track again. Very best wishes, Paul

    EU3 to EU2

I have just realised why - the cam position sensor picks up from it. Was this not used on EU2 engines? Paul

    EU3 to EU2

I have to ask - why does the exhaust cam need a reluctor segment? I assume that the cams would need to be swapped if the EU2 engine didn't have one. Paul
  11. Chris, I seem to think it was just a question of turning up and pitching the tent, but I could be wrong - the details will be in the regulations for the event, I suspect. If I have any record of this from last year, i'll let you know. Paul
  12. Camping at Llys-y-Fran is Ok - a good level area at the venue, with decent facilities. Arriving on Saturday night allows a leisurely walk of the course. The usual caveats apply regarding noisy neighbours! Paul
  13. Thanks for bringing to my attention, Nick - I've contacted the vendor. Paul
  14. I'm looking for an exhaust manifold with long primaries, for a 1600 K-series S3, please. It is to be mated to a silencer with cat, for sprint purposes. I might consider a complete "cat in the can" system (Powerspeed?) if the price is not too scary. Thank you. Paul
  15. Anyone got four of these, please? They don't need to be pristine, just round. Don't need centre caps either. Thank you. Paul

    Red Front ARB

I've got one - I trust that yours is an S3? How does £25 sound? If you are near Shrewsbury or Oswestry, I can get it to a location in either town, f.o.c. Paul Edited by - PaulCo on 3 Mar 2010 21:49:39
  17. I'm available to help on the day also, if wanted. Paul
  18. Is this for dedion or live axle, and early roll bar or late (with centre cross bars), please? Paul
  19. I don't think you will - all I seem to have done since buying the car is add weight to it - lights, number plates and tax discs are really heavy, you know! (Excuse No.1) Paul
  20. So, Mr Spencer, your cunning plan for class domination is exposed! Paul
  21. The man at DVLA said: "So, I suppose you'll be taking your wife out for a meal in it tonight." They still don't understand! Paul
  22. Much better news - After a battle with the local DVLA office manager on the phone this morning, I persuaded her to ask Swansea. She spoke to Head of Policy, who told her that my SVA was acceptable - I now have a registered car, on an age related plate. Caterham, both midlands and south, were very helpful when I contacted them regarding the IVA and registration, and took the view that it would be highly impractical to try to get my car through the inspection. Among other components, even the shock absorbers would have to be changed (edges of spring pans too sharp). Paul
