  1. Would look nice as unusual 'Engineering Paperweights'!!!
  2. for all you BEC boys and girls out there, i have a couple of performance parts for a 929/954 Fireblade engine: these were out of a relatively new moto GP engine [less than 2000 miles] fitted to the car when I bought it, unfortunately due to an over exuberant son [and much quicker than me 😔 😔 😔] the engine dropped a valve and hence the parts are available: Quaife 6 speed close ratio gearbox with dog engagement on the output shaft, designed to be significantly stronger than a standard box [useful in a BEC], this is for the complete gearbox not just the gearset which sold for around a £1000, no idea what its worth Offers ??? pair of high lift cams, no idea of technical spec so please only questions about measurements on them!!! Again no idea of price so Offers??? I have all the other components of the engine, internals and externals, oil pump, alternator, both covers, sump etc except the cylinder head and one piston [which are knackered] let me know if anything is of interest? Cheers Pete
  3. having sold the 7 for something a tad more comfortable I have number of items for sale; SBFS half doors, brand new never fitted, still in packaging, you'll need some poppers [but if I were you I'd use Tenax fasteners, much better than the lift the dot] £40 Caterham adjustable seat runners [as new] £35 SOLD to Danny Woolard Walker St. Clair cockpit cover £25, [used once] Rear arch wing rubber 1/4" x 1" [4m, including all fixing] £6 2.25 Caterham Fire Extinguisher, including securing bracket and 3 nozzles and an engine bay bracket [no piping & FE will need a service] £90 (nozzles are £35 each ) All plus P+P, or collection Cheers Pete Edited by - petefoster on 10 Sep 2013 17:16:24
  4. Thanks for the offer Fred, but I'm afraid you've been outbid *eek* I will pull together a quick summary of the system and a couple of photo's and post it over to you, but it will probably be next week now as I'm off to France for a few days. Cheers Pete
  5. Better still Fred, I'll sell it to you and it comes with a free car 😬 😬 😬
  6. Thanks for your kind comments guys, although I have to say the credit for the bulk of the build has to go to Paul Harvey, including the ingenious gear lever controlled clutch allowing for two pedal operation on track. AdC, the Avons certainly provide good grip in the dry, not sure about the wet, with no roof or screen I don't go out when its raining *redface* Quite a bit of interest so far, so fingers crossed new toy could be on the drive soon 😬 😬 😬. Cheers Pete
  7. Time to go, new project looming Linky Cheers Pete
  8. if you stick two circles of the fuzzy velcro to cover the reg plate holes and don't bother with the plate..."sorry officer it was there when I set out this morning!!!" the whole front end looks a lot nicer *eek* Edited by - petefoster on 10 Dec 2012 17:27:44
  9. Thanks Elie I have sent you a BM Cheers Pete
  10. Thanks John Presumably the Sigma gauge will work with any sender? What colour is the dial white or black? Pete
  11. *wavey* Looking for a Caterham Fuel Gauge and a bit of a long shot but a racing cap for an AP Racing Master Cylinder Cheers Pete
  12. As per here 4 no of these £60 including shipping still in original packaging, bought to upgrade my computer but replaced it instead cheers pete
  13. This is 'The' Caterham Fireblade Evolution, this car was commissioned to be the next generation Fireblade with a brief to add, in the tradition of Colin Chapman, further lightness and increase the power, it is the development car built by Paul Harvey [the original Fireblade mastermind, signed statement of build included], it is a new car made with all new bits, with the exception of the live axle which has undergone a transformation to manage the additional power delivered by the injected MotoGP engine, so this is truly one of a kind. Having always hankered after a BEC I upgraded to this from an ex-Academy Caterham, with the view to moving up the classes in the Caterham Sprint Championship, [not that I was any good in Class 1 ], but unfortunately this is way too fast and handles far better than I am brave enough to consider, so I am testing the water to see if there is a market for it before investing in lots and lots of driving lessons The specification is as follows: • Proper 'superlight' at only 370kgs • 929 injected engine, provided new by RS Performance, advised 185 bhp output • RaceTech mappable ECU, complete with serial cable and software, currently running a fast road /race map with uprated firmware • Pace triple pump dry sump oil system with Aeroquip hoses • Wide track front suspension with bilstein adjustable platform dampers • 22% quick rack • AP Racing Master Cylinder with Alcon lightweight calliper’s to the front, GSXR750W calliper’s to the rear • Drilled discs all round • bespoke live axle with Quaife LSD • anodised aluminium hubs • Nova Reverser box with Bailey Morris propshafts • 6 speed Nova Race square cut transmission • TransLogic power upshifter, allowing full throttle clutchless upshifts • Mechanical linkage to engage the clutch by the forward movement of the gear lever on downshifts to enable 2 pedal operation, designed fitted and successfully tested by Paul Harvey [not currently fitted] • transmission handbrake [to save weight] • Caterham alloy radiator and Craig Davies electric water pump • Mike Barnby 3 piece spun aluminium wheels with magnesium centres • Avon ACB10 Sport tyres • 4-2-1 stainless steel repackable silencer • Carbon nose • Carbon front wings • Carbon rear wings • Carbon dash • Carbon sills • Carbon Aero screen • Spa centre mirror and side mirrors • Carbon Reverie airbox • Carbon air intake in nose • Carbon Reverie steering wheel, with quick release, incorporating Farringdon, SWIS10 Digital Dash and Datalogger • Keyless ignition • B6 Carbon Fibre Tillet Seats with • Caterham 5 point Harnesses • New Soft Bits for Sevens, bootcover, halfdoors and 2 piece tonneau • Lowered front lights, with integral side repeaters, clear lenses to front indicators • A full superlight rollcage tops off the car [the only sacrifice to weight, but added for safety] • Since it was built its done around 500 miles It is properly Caterham road registered, taxed and tested If you are looking for a very fast Fireblade this is the one [in the right hands of course!!!] so if you are interested let me know and I’ll send you some detailed piccies, or come along and have a look, I’m only up in Chesterfield. Looking for offers around £19,000 Regards Pete
