  1. Brian James Clubman 950 trailer, fitted with large storage toolbox, front mounted tyre racks (holds 4 wheels and tyres) side storage box, 4 ratchet straps, winch and heavy duty jockey wheel, good tyres including spare. Purchased by myself in June 2006 and used for sprinting and a few track days so mileage for age is very low. Trailer fits in my garage, 7 foot door. Stored outside for last three years so usual discolouration and rust spot on wheels. can email pictures. £995.00 Located on the south coast but may meet half way if needed. (Within reason!!!) Robin.
  2. Okay, so I had a chance to look at the car for the first time in a few days. first of all I refitted the original power leads, one at a time. This made no difference to the symptoms. I then replaced the Brise starter with my original rover unit. This made everything go back to normal, starting ok and running ok. I will call Brise tomorrow and see if they have any idea what the problem is. I assume there is a fault with the new starter motor. Robin.
  3. Having received and replaced the existing starter with the Brise unit. Starting problems have all gone. Fast spinning over but not firing as it used to. Need to touch throttle and hold at about 2000 revs to keep it running, won't tickover. Have reset TPS, made no difference. Also have just noticed the shift light in the Caterham speedo is staying on constantly Both 12v leads we're replaced at the same time. Any thoughts??? Robin
  4. Gary, good point ref; rebuilding starter. I found a crack in the case of my starter motor and the Caterham spacer plate was split across the bolt hole. Having spoken with several owners that have fitted Brise products to their cars for competition use the general sensus was that the product was robust. Given that the cost to replace the Caterham starter and the Brise starter were similar, for me the decision was easy. I decided to exclude the Powerlite product due to lack of information regarding durability. Robin.
  5. Phoned up helpful man at Brise, new starter on its way after crossing his palm with some plastic. Will post if cured. Robin.
  6. GJT Did the Brise unit fit without any modifications? Robin
  7. Does anyone have any experience of these. 8. Cheers guys. Thought this might be the case, Will take the starter off tonight and have a look. Fed up with having to be pushed out of garages when filling up with petrol. Robin.
  9. My 1800 k series super light has recently become a problem to start when hot. It is not the K click, the starter engages but only just manages to turn the engine over. I have replaced the battery, this has not made any difference. I have cleaned the earth straps from the battery to the engine and from the chassis to the engine. The car starts fine when cold. Could the starter be the problem? Robin
  10. I'm more than happy with that 😬 I will have to check the album out tonight.
  11. Quoting Aeroscreens: Quoting Clawhammer: Hi All, Having not sprinted since 2009, what has changed? Robin Everybody's got a little faster . Welcome back Hi Chris, I think the increased speed is due to improoved track conditions since I last sprinted. I can't believe they have all become more skillful. 😳
  12. Well it looks like I might have to purchase some new gloves and possibly helmet. The fluerescent pink seems to have mellowed, as have I, (I am now a married man, made an honest woman of Viv last year.) I shall now be mostly having bright orange lips for the return of the hoff. I will need to check out the speedo website to see if they do matching trunks as the weather seems to have made this the appropriate garment for under my racing suit. 😳 I do have some 2 year old soft Khumos, do you think they will still be good?
  13. Hi All, Wanting to do both Curborough events this year. Having not sprinted since 2009, what has changed? Any new requirements for helmets or car I need to know about. Still going to be in class 3. Robin
  14. Richard, Shocking series of photographs. I am really pleased to hear that you walked away from that tumble. I am sure you are nursing some serious aches and pains today.Thank goodness for full roll cages. I am sure should you decide to retire from competitive hillclimbing there would still be a buzz to be had from helping Tom acheive his goals. Look forward to catching up with you in the pits at a future meeting. Wishing you well. Robin
