I agree with much of what you say Stuart, but we're not talking about over-legislating, we're talking about a potentially straightforward modification to a course to reduce the risk of a potentially serious injury. We're not asking for a change to the hill itself to make it easier to navigate without going off, but to introduce a more effective safety net.
This would not remove the risk or decrease the adrenaline for me, but would give me more confidence that if I did go off, then I might be more likely to have a broken car and not a broken body.
God knows what the consequences may have been for some of those classic cars if they went over the edge.
