  1. Measure it all up and try 'think auto'. I've got a whole silicon set in my garage (waiting for me to fit) but no clue what the parts are I'm afraid
  2. The 1M wears non runflats.. I'd go with whatever brand that has
  3. I would say that on the road 021s would run to 6000 miles
  4. vote #2 for tracking, toe it in a bit
  5. Jake You must be able to take them back to the 'shop you got them from?
  6. I've a vague recollection of their being a bracket on the chassis near the diff but I've been too lazy/doing other things to check. Thanks for the notes chaps
  7. Seriously, you need to visit my garage, not a million miles from peterborough and I suspect I can short you something out from stock. You wouldn't believe the variety of old springs I have. pm me
  8. Why do always want to deviate from caterham std practice?
  9. I made up some sleeves in bronze and they dont rust and run nicely against dodgy old bolts too. and make me feel better. I notice you appear to be thinking of using 150lb springs on widetrack. My orig spec 7 used 170lb springs front and rear and that is considered low for the track. I think that 260lb front wouldn't be overdoing it but I reckon that's what's on mine now for road/track mix. I understand you can go higher than that for track but you'll want to uprate the rear too I would imagine. Again above 170lb rear would seem sensible but which to choose? I'm not sure. Someone on here must have some stiffer springs for the rear. Prettry sure I've got some 260lbs frt somewhere in my garage that I'm not using, someone will have some they don't want Edited by - millsn on 26 Aug 2011 19:57:33 Edited by - millsn on 26 Aug 2011 19:58:05
  10. also covered here I remembered the bit about lexus using it to reduce noise and it all seems to have spiralled out of control from there IMO
  11. Fog wiring often earths to the back panel. That earth doesn't last long (steel plus ally). Is your number plate light also affected? They often use the same earth. You need to run a proper earth back there should this be the problem 😔
  12. post made redundant by others' Edited by - millsn on 26 Aug 2011 19:41:52
  13. Is that the conventional location? I dislike the 'wires running along the wishbones look' esp as mine is supawide (read supa long wires) track

    Noisy Gearbox

I would also check the tickover speed. My crossbow used to rattle less just by balancing the carbs.
  15. I'm going to fit a electronic speedo to my 7 and need to site the sensor somewhere. I was planning on mounting it to sense from the propshaft. Where is this sensor positioned on cars newer than 1992!? Edited by - millsn on 23 Aug 2011 16:29:30

I've never found mine much cop. But I do know it works.
  17. Isn't the question here "Where are the Yoko/Avon dealers in and around France"? e.g. avon here Edited by - millsn on 17 Aug 2011 08:15:33
  18. My 200 brake zetec uses a little oil. Must be the exception to the rule. That is when I actually ever drive it! Only when it's being caned though.
  19. Noticed thast this post had exactly no replies and got to wondering, maybe the moderators can answer this question..."Whose post has had the most views for zero replies?" and what was the subject line?
  20. Ialso had the "problem". I spent ages looking for loose bits, worn bushes, several tracking adjustments, worn track rods etc then with someone else available (phil w) was able to determine that the rack was at fault. Once the rack was disassembled it was found that the yoke attaching the rack end to the track rod had broken, new rack required. Point is, no way would I find that on my own and no, the Phoenix is no longer terribly local for me, damn it :(
  21. I've treated my red/brown fibreglass garage doors with Autoglym bumper care and have discovered it brings back all the lustre. No other effort required. I put loads on with a sponge and just wiped off. Saved me some dough, they were looking that rough I was going to replace them for that reason alone. Edited by - millsn on 10 Aug 2011 16:31:13
