  1. 16 will probably be fine. With 16" wheels you are going to have stiff sidewalls anyway.
  2. Thanks. Would like the gearset assuming it is intact, can you email me on the address with your details and phone number and I will give you a call. Nick
  3. Interested in engine with Nova box and dry sump fitted. Have emailed but says there is a problem? Please reply to me on here or preferably with money you are after to: nickpaulwestbrook@yahoo.co.uk. Nick

  5. Like Mankee I have the standard NTR1s purchased secondhand and they are great on road and track for me but will look at the Meteor valving when winter comes as they will need a service by then. The thing I noticed most is how quick they react to minor bumps compared to the Bilsteins. Reckon that Quantums will be as good if not better. Nick
  6. Ah sorry just read your second post. 4.25 litres should be fine if you did not empty the oil cooler.
  7. Did you put all 4 litres in? Changed the oil on mine, i.e. Drained dry sump pan and reservoir by detaching bottom hose. Refilled with 4 litres and it is fine. Done Brands GP trackday and oil pressure was good. Should only drop to 15psi on idle when really hot. When I do the oil change I remove the LT leads and crank it for a few minutes before reconnecting and starting. Nick
  8. Normally quite a few on Ebay. http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2050601.m570.l1311.R1.TR3.TRC1.A0.H0.Xblackbird+engine.TRS0&_nkw=blackbird+engine&_sacat=0
  9. twas fantastic, although the L7C session looked busy. Dave said he may run two sessions next year, would be good if there were fewer cars in two groups. Counted around 45 cars in the queue at one point.
  10. Pretty sure I have one if he does not find one. Nick
  11. Could be, have you got a pipe breathing back into the airbox? I have overfilled mine before on a trackday and drained it out and had 6 litres when really 4- 4.5 litres is enough. I usually change mine regularly and put in 4 litres and it is fine without ever needing to top up. Have not found a fool proof, reliable way to check the oil level using the tank levels. Nick
  12. I think the trouble with having a Members Only forum is that someone from the club can log on and show his non member mate(read ex club member with a grudge) what is being discussed, he then goes on Pistonheads/Facebook and slags off the club saying whatever he feels and no one other than club members can respond to. Better to keep things out in the open or if it is private use email, don't put it on a forum. All IMHO of course. Nick
  13. When did Mike stop making them then? He was up and running a couple of years ago. Would love to buy these but not sure I can justify another set of wheels.
  14. Phil You certainly did not spoil my day and I never had any issues with a green and yellow R500. I would question why you have an R500 when you are a track beginner as they will be a bit of a handful for all but the experienced, but as I said before each to his own and it is your money to do with it as you wish. Anyway you have done the right thing in getting help from Merrick and hopefully when I meet you on future track days I will be the one pulling to the right to let you pass Nick
  15. Agree it was an excellent day, superb weather and not one person stopped any of our sessions, now that has to be good. Standards of driver courtesy were on the whole excellent, can't quite understand how a CSR 260 and a couple of R500s were pedalled so slowly round the twisty bits, but as they say each to his own Hope Nathan's R400 gets sorted without a big bill. Nick
  16. Nice, wish I had the money.
  17. Friend of mine is after a single 175 55 13 CR500. Must be with good tread > 4mm and less than 2 years old. Possible pick up from Stoneleigh on Sunday. Nick
  18. Apologies, feeling grumpy again, not an excuse though.
  19. Yes Tony at TSK. Caterham are great if you want to buy a new or approved car. If you want parts then ring Redline. If you want paint or body work it's TSK. 3 people have now suggested TSK, so why are you waiting for Caterham to ring back, they don't paint the cars?
  20. Give Tony of TSK a call on 01322 441604 , he probably painted your car if it was that colour from new.
