  1. Sounds like a nice car. Not sure why the roller barrels are considered binary, my R500 and previous R300 ones were fine? So smooth after a two Steves mapping session on the R500. Best of luck with the sale Brian, hard to find now. Nick
  2. Is there a market for stolen 13" wheels? Never had locking wheel nuts on a Caterham. Is the car left out rather than garaged?
  3. I also use Comma 5w50 however it seems to have creeped up in price. Still cheaper than Motul which is nearly £20 more for 5 litres. .https://www.opieoils.co.uk/p-147389-comma-motorsport-5w-50-fully-synthetic-racing-car-engine-oil.aspx
  4. You never know Quite liked the bare carbon look on my previous car and this gives me options.
  5. ATDO are no longer an entity, and APlan have assured me they can cover me on a track day at Goodwood on the 1st May organised by a new track day provider. I did not get the impression that a wording change was needed to still have cover although for piece of mind having the correct wording seems like a good idea in case the underwriter decides to turn tail. As I understand it the ATDO was set up in the days when you could hire a circuit with no marshalls, medical cover, etc however I understand much of that is included by the circuit owners in their hire cost nowadays.
  6. Would be nice if we could find an broker that has an underwriter that knows Caterham and Lotus 7s and insures for multiple track days, all at an affordable price. Wonder if the Club can help facilitate this? Nick
  7. I did some Lotus On Track trackdays many moons ago, seemed well organised and had no issues.
  8. I'm doing a day at Castle Combe on 19th September to get to know the car on track. Done about 2000 road miles now so getting to know the car but need a track to make full use of the performance. Need to get it remapped by Steve Greenald before next year as there is a big hole in the power curve and look at upgrade to suspension as it feels too soft. Other than that it's great so far. N
  9. https://www.pistonheads.com/buy/listing/13796115 362bhp enough for you? Seems that 50% of 620Rs are this colour scheme. Nigel Pugh's old car was nice but seems to have disappeared so probably sold. Sorry to see you moving on James, I am starting my journey with the R500 as you finish with my first trackday next month. Nick
  10. Think it was Owain Davies who built a R500 IRS in 2008? He worked for Caterham Cars as a development engineer I think. The car used bits from a CSR I believe. Nick
  11. Still not been out in the dark with my Original Cafe Racer units fitted so not able to offer a review of the performance. I know the Caterham units are not perfect with someone telling me that on full beam the area immediately in front of the car is unlit. I would think the Cafe Racer ones will be similar. Will report back once I have driven in the dark. Nick
  12. Wonder if he's still got his Blackbird powered car?
  13. After a set of half doors preferably in carbon vinyl without the poppers fitted. Also after an R500 decat/bypass pipe part number 39X031A Nick
  14. Or if anyone has one fitted or on the shelf please can they measure the length and diameter of the cone at each end. I know the inlet size is 4"/ 102mm.
  15. Does anyone know the part number for the K&N filter that goes on the R500 trackday airbox? Caterham list it but none in stock and there look like very similar/same ones on EBay for less money. Wondered if it was this RU-2590? Nick
  16. Definitely sold, money received, thanks BenF
  17. Caterham Cars straight weave carbon aeroscreen to fit SV or CSR. Beautifully made. Mirrors not included although screen drilled where mirrors have been fitted. £738 new from Caterham( currently not in stock) £275 collection only(New Forest)
  18. I also bought some Original Cafe Racer ones. Seem well made and E marked. If you are fitting them to the original headlight bowls then I assume you could use the spring clips although they may need shortening. 10 times cheaper than the Caterham ones and considerably cheaper than the JAL units. Would be interested to compare the light pattern between the two. Nick
  19. No idea why every photo I post up on this site rotates either 180 degrees or 90?
  20. Fitted the fusebox cover today. Had to trim it to fit and used a piece of channel to hold it in place with some rubber on the top. I bought a ready made lead with 12v socket from Amazon: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07R6FYX7N/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s01?ie=UTF8&th=1
