  1. Hi Simon, Thanks for your call, if you have any more questions just ask. In the meantime I'll keep fingers crossed that you can move your car on within a reasonable timescale. Regards, Martin
  2. Final big reduction of £3,500 before the car goes to the dealer. Please see first post.
  3. Price reduction by a massive £2,000 before the car goes to a dealer. Now £35,500.
  4. Just advertised on Pistoheads here: http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/caterham/all-models/caterham-r500-duratec-2009-5-220-mls/5473613?v=b which has a few photos to view.
  5. Final big reduction before the car goes to the dealer. An R500 spec'd with all the go-faster bits and I hate to see the dealer making a steal out of it. Act now but quickly if you are interested as you won't find it at this price soon. R500 Duratec, August 2009, very low mileage 5,200 mls approx. £37,500, now reduced to £35,500, finally to £32,000 !!!!! Spring is here, or at least the calendar says it is. So what better time to be looking for a fun car for the coming season. A one owner fully sorted R500 which is equally at home on the road, or track. The car is for sale because it is getting very little use and it is time to move on. Detonator yellow (same as used on the Renault Clio and Megane sport versions and on the second of the two original factory R500s). Bare carbon fibre front and rear wings, dashboard, nosecone band, airboxes, aeroscreen and Spa mirrors. Spec’d to include all the performance extras and noise management parts necessary for use on track. It has also benefitted from a programme of work by Caterham to address the ‘hole’ in the torque curve and now produces claimed output with a much improved progressive torque curve verified on the rolling road (documented history and rolling road printouts available to support this which will be provided with the car on purchase). Modifications also made to manage the heat soak from the engine bay and transmission tunnel into the cabin / footwell. Options extra to standard R500 spec at purchase: 6 – speed sequential gearbox Launch control C400 derived race dampers Tonneau cover 12v power socket Trackday rollover bar (FIA) Battery master switch Interim exhaust catalyst bypass pipe Track day exhaust kit – quiet silencer Track day carbon fibre induction airbox – this now comes with its own bespoke mapped ECU following a mapping session by the ‘two Steves’ at Track and Road. Part of the work to optimise the torque curve Special paint - Detonator yellow (same as used on the Renault Clio and Megane sport versions and on the second of the two original factory R500s) Superlight decal pack (matt black). Not fitted, available to instal Half doors. Extras after purchase: Heat management detail : Exhaust primaries ceramic coated by Zircotec Heat reflecting material applied to the footwells in the engine bay and transmission tunnel Carpet applied to the footwells in the cabin Carbon fibre standard airbox (essential to the performance of the engine as determined during rolling road investigations) Set of Caterham anthracite wheels (same as on the car) with wheel nuts and centres. As new, undamaged, fitted with a set of half worn slicks. Bespoke sump guard fitted Catalytic converter, (bypass pipe fitted to car at present) Set of front and rear original brake pads, barely worn Replacement brake fluid reservoir cap without level switch (to avoid leaks when cornering quickly). Low / standard height centre column for Spa rear view mirror (tall with anti-vibration support fitted on car) Various top-up fluids Touch up paint pack Front anti roll bar, green, used Indoor car cover, used Other stuff: Combination of professionally and owner serviced in accordance with Caterham’s recommendations. Uprated front and rear brake pads and fluid fitted, hence originals fitted by Caterham are available. CR500s all round, rears done about 1,000 miles. Sequential gearbox refreshed by Quaife less than 100 miles ago.
  6. Are your family or friends in the habit of buying you a nice Chrimbo pressie?
  7. Many thanks Ian, much appreciated. Just dropped him a reply. Regards, Martin
  8. Boing, back to the top. The car is now back with me for the winter as things go quiet about this time. What that means though is it is an opportunity for anybody who may be interested to deal directly with me and cut out the dealer's mark up. If something like this features in your ideas for when we get back to decent weather next spring could this be an opportunity? Open to offers.

The car is for sale because it is getting very little use and it is time to move on. The car is for sale at Millwoods here: http://www.millwood-mc.com/ please ask for Jon Vickers. 10. Big discount opportunity. I have negotiated a very attractive deal on a car I would like to replace the Radical with, either cash or taking the Radical as part exchange (where they would sell the car on). Problem is the offer for the Radical is derisory and is no doubt coming from a back-street opportunist who is looking to make a killing. I need the garage space to be able to go ahead so am encouraged to see if there may be an alternative solution. I have refused the part-ex offer because I have no intention of lining the pockets of businesses such as this. I would however be happy to sell to a club member at an opportunistic price if anybody may be interested. You know what it’s like when you’ve had a few test drives and dribbled over the options lists etc, you get sort of enthusiastic . So does anybody want to take advantage of the situation? I would be up for a significant discount on the advertised price given the circumstances. If there is no interest I will just back away from the deal and there’s nothing lost as I suppose I can get back to this situation again in the future. The time is ripe as they say. If you would like to follow this up drop me a Blatmail and we can take it from there. Only one condition, no tyre kickers or time wasters please.
  11. Quoting Lambretta: Am I to understand that one could take this car and drive it to the shops or have I missed something? Yes you could. It would need road tyres putting back on and a couple of small jobs and you're away. I drove it home when I first collected it for instance and there was no shortage of camera phones sticking out of car windows. Plus the guy who tried to race me round the inside lane of the roundabout ...... 😬.
  12. Anybody fancy a passenger ride in a Radical SR3 around Castle Combe? There is no obligation to buy the car or even have an interest in buying as the event is for charity so the 5 laps are for sale on the day. Of course if you are interested in buying the car that would be even better . The event is on Saturday 20th October this year and is in aid of the Stroke Association and it would be good to have some L7C folk along. Assuming it is the same as previous years there will also be an Autosolo course set up in the paddock and run by Bristol Motor Club which is ideal for 7 type cars, hot hatches or anything really and is great fun. It is also competitive cos they time your effort meaning you can try and better your own time or have a competition amongst your mates. Beware though cos it's moreish 😬. If you have an interest post up here or drop me a blatmail and I'll send the details when they are published - soon I suppose.
