  1. Steve, Definealty a 6 speeder with only 8k on the clock, OK ao not as noisey as my SCCR box but a lot noisey than a previous helical 5 speeder I drove Who needs 6 gears anyway
  2. with a track single roll hoop aero and a windswept driver vents in the nosecone too - bike engine perhaps 🤔 You were just going through the roadworks bits around 10.30
  3. Miura Might be worth speaking to Matt Simpson, I had a long and interesting conversation with him a while back his qualuity is second to none and price wise you'll be suprised he can make just about anything you want. http://www.simpsonraceexhausts.com/ It's where I'll be going post dyno when I've goit some nubers to work with.
  4. I'm with Steve, I run a Tran X straight cut and aside from 4th which is direct, it's 'musical' which in a way adds to the charm of the 7 mine also has a short 5th so things do get a little noisey @ 70 plus.......... 😳 - perfect ratios and superb sift though so there are a number of options here: 1- Wear ear plugs 2- Take the doors off so the wind noise drowns the gearbox noise 😳 2- Press the 'little' pedal even more and the TB's dorwn evrything out I understod that the CC 6 speeder was straight cut 🤔, the one we trst drove was certasinly bl00dy noisey if not ❗
  5. Out for a blat last night and I noticed the standard CC rev counter flickers around 2000rpm it's fine evrywhere else - is this a known fault 🤔, or merely a characteristic of trhe CC tacho. I'm running Emerald with the GM QED twin coil Thanks in advance
  6. I'm looking for a supplier of Kevlar sheet to form a sump gaurd skid from, we used this back in the rally days and aside from being light was near indestructable and didn't deform under impact as does ally. Can't remember who we used to source it from so I'm hoping for help from the land of Blatchat
  7. Fathead, An option for you: Have your block Scholared to 1.8 for £400 this includes press fit thick wall liners and is returned with the liners hirghts bob on Pistons I did a mini bulk buy direct from Accralite for forged pistons and these came out at £279 + theft Rods DVA does single tang with fully floating bushed little ends for £135 a set DVA also has a fair supply of cranks too cheers
  8. Guys thanks for all the usefull advice, seems I'm not the only one who thinks the full suide screns are ugly then! Warnesy, Thanks for the kind offer of the loan of your deflectors to try, I'll mail you off line to arange this cheers
  9. I fitted Tllets in my new build and found they do not supply a similar edge strip fro th six point harness hole - well worth putting something on though otherwise the seat will eat yuor harness. I used a length of the SVAfron wing edge rubber - works a treat.
  10. Advice please I currently have none of the above fitted and Mrs 7WOTW is complaining about the draft........ ❗ 😳 I have a pair of 1/2 doors which would be my preference as IMO they add to the look of the 7, however I'm not overkeen on the look with full side screens despite these being the most popular option......... Just wondered if anyone has used 1/2 doors and wind deflectors 🤔 do they work how do they compare to full side screens 🤔 cheers
  11. Spotted last night Burgandy possibly clams and prisoner wheels 2145 last night heading toward Tenbury Wells on the A4112.
  12. I opted for a Tran X straight cut as the ratios and durability were more important that the noise, I look on the noise as 'music', a light whine in 5th akin to a violin concerto, and hitting the small pedal relases Guns & Roses 😬 😳
  13. I'd planned a blat over to see you both tonight I've just got to see what time Mrs 7WOW will be home as this will be the first legal blat and I'd like SWMBO to be onboard for the first blat.
  14. I used the standard Rover item, if you ask at your local motor factor I think there are 2 lengths of harness I opted for the longer version circa £30 made by a company Fuelparts in Redditch I believe. Works a treat
  15. Following a successful build, SVA and VRO I'm now fully road legal and keenly watching the weather forecasts, although I was 'christened' on the way to SVA - a least I now the wipers work!! I'd just like to post a thanks to all those who offered help time and advice so freely during the build: Jon Vickers @ Millwood - he is simply an absolute star, nothing is too much trouble - if your reading this and thinking of getting a 7 speak to Jon - Thanks Jon. *thumbup* Neil @ Pace Matthew @ Think DVA Phil @ Excell automotive Steve @ Vibration free PRS and his friend Mr Crane Tom 7 Darren, Tony, Tim, George & Simon @ CC Dave & Karl @ Emerald Bruce @ Arch David @ Hyperion I've spoken to so many people during the pre build and during, without exception they've all had a willingness to help - if only the rest of life could be like building a 7 See some of you at the open day @ Millwood on Sunday. Thanks again *thumbup* 😬
  16. Make sure you lock wire the roll pin in place though, as these have been known to fall out, usually they go straight to the magnet in the bottom of the box causing no damage aside from giving the driver i fixed gear or a box full of neutrals !
  17. I'd consider running 45's on that spec with either the standard 36 chokes of if you can try a set 34's I had a similar spec Xflow on 45's / 36chokes with no drivability problems. I'd advise against putting 36 chokes in the 40's as you start to loose the full venturi effect as there is little difference between choke and bore size. I'd also look at using 50mm trumpets and sing a 1 peice filter or if using twin filters bracing the carbs. cheers Did you consider the alloy head route at all?
  18. Just thought, you've not got your Mrs in the co pilot seat have you............. ...........they can make a hell of a noise, in some instances they can still be heard long after you've turned the engine off - weeks in some cases 😬
  19. Thanks for the offer but £10 is a fair price.
  20. Based in Redditch for work, or North Herefordshire
  21. Big foot turned up nothing in the archives but Bighead did ! Think I'm sorted 8 x bighead fasteners and some Tigerseal! Thanks for the replies guys -
