  1. Can I have the cat please? PM will be with you in a moment.
  2. A really good car that I raced against many times.
  3. Whereabouts are you based Jon? I need a Tillett for my passenger side but would obviously not expect you to post it.
  4. 2004 season Academy cars were the first to have a tunnel mounted handbrake. That was also the first season that cages were mandatory.
  5. See this video on going from 125bhp (Academy spec) to 135bhp (270 spec).
  6. Here's some footage from my Innovv C5. I've found it works really well. The sound could be improved though (microphone under the dash).
  7. An '06 car would be K Series right? In that case 7WotW would be right. I think all Sigma engined supersports have Titan LSDs. My 2009 Sigma Supersport race car certainly has a Titan.
  8. K7 VCT is right that it is missing the airbox that is standard on a VCT (variable cam timing) engined Academy car. This may be because it raced in the Sigma class of the Caterham Graduates which, a few years ago, catered for both VCT and the earlier non-VCT engines. To equal up performance, the VCT cars had a higher minimum weight and had to to replace the airbox with the setup seen on this car. It looks like a nice car but I would ask PT to put an airbox on it to put it back to its original Academy spec and make sure you don't miss out on a couple of BHP.
  9. Safety Devices made quite a lot of tall Roadsport cages before supply moved to Caged in 2004. Very few tall Roadsport cages have been made by Caged as the new design used a curved side rail which moved it further away from the head and lowered floors were intorduced at that time. There are some in existence though. The standard SLR cage has always offered more space for the head because it isn't constrained by the need for a hood fit.
  10. Does your car have the "sport suspension pack" which is standard on R spec cars, or the "track suspension pack" which is a £200 option? The dampers that come with the track suspension pack do not need the extension piece as they are designed to fit wide track cars only.
  11. BigCol (and Tom), that is brilliant, thank you very much. I am based in Newark, Nottinghamshire.
  12. I've done something daft while reconnecting the throttle cable to my Sigma engine and broken the part of the throttle body that the throttle cable connects to, as shown circled red on the attached. Does anybody know what this part is called or where I could get one?
  13. Thanks Scott, there are some useful tips there that I hadn't seen covered in the handy Youtube video that I found, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AunLFQV1jso, or the Haynes manual. My M8 studs arrived in the post this morning to be used exactly as you suggest
  14. Ignore this, it's now off. I did it with a length of wood and a big hammer.
  15. I am trying to drop the sump off my sigma engine so that I can replace the rear main seal. The rear main seal seals against the top edge of the sump so removal seems the best way to ensure the new seal seals. However, the sump uses a sealant rather than a gasket and having removed all the bolts it will not budge. Does anybody have any handy tips before I resort to taking it to a local garage?
  16. None of my VX Classics (I've had 4) had a choke so that is normal. The only time I had a starting issue, a new set of plugs solved it.
  17. When I wrapped mine I left a nose band to avoid the difficult curves around the opening. I don't think doing a nose band would be anything like as hard as doing an entire nose. Just lay knifeless tape down along the cut line before you start so you get the position correct. This is mine.
  18. I Redline Components may have them in stock - www.redlinecomponents.co.uk Give Chris a call, he is very helpful and is used to sending items to the US.
  19. Whatever you do, make sure it is very, very secure. An extinguisher coming free in an accident could kill you. I would not rely on self tappers. Mine is bolted to the passenger floor with some big washers underneath to prevent them pulling through.
  20. Thanks guys. That's just the sort of thing I was after.
  21. It's a race car and needs a refresh. The 'box is extremely crunchy and the LSD has lost it's pre-load.
  22. Thanks all. I have the build manual and just wondered if there was anything available to identify the best way to remove everything. If it's just a case of reversing the build process I'll give that a go. Tom, I'm in Newark, Notts.
