  1. I am intending to get my gearbox and diff rebuilt over winter. I've not removed the engine or diff before and wondered if anybody was aware of step by step idiot's guides anywhere? The car is a 2009 Sigma Supersport with a type 9 5 speed and Ford diff.
  2. Wanted for a friend - Quaife limited slip diff for an Ital axle.
  3. StevehS3 - re comment #7 Yes, sport suspension will include wide track and probably other things, but the question on this thread is specifically about adjustability of the dampers.
  4. If you are referring to the Caterham's factory fit Bilstein dampers they will just have adjustable platforms to change the ride height.
  5. It isn't a case of TADTS. Mine started doing it two thirds of the way through my last race.
  6. Did you ever solve this? I have a very similar issue and would be interested to know if you found a cause.
  7. The cut out on a 8v Vauxhall is slightly further back than it is on a XFlow bonnet.
  8. An easier way to get an FIA bar may be to put the cage up for sale for, say, a roll bar plus £100.
  9. There's a 2002 K Series matching your description (apart from visible smoke for MOT) on eBay at the moment.
  10. Still available. One last try before it goes on eBay.
  11. Do you know the mileage and type of use i.e. road or track, of the type 9 gearbox?
  12. I never tried to fit it. It came as part of a job lot of bits, most of which fitted my S3 Sigma. When I went to collect the parts the seller said the exhaust was off a CSR. Looking at the primaries and comparing them with mine I can see they are off a wide body car. The silencer is 7" rather than the 6" fitted to Sigmas. I was just taking the seller's word for it that it was off a CSR as I had no reason to doubt it.
  13. No problem. I bought it as one of several parts that came together. Everything else fitted my car and I hoped that the silencer and cat would be the same as mine but they were not.
  14. Hi, sorry for the delay, I've just got home from work. The outside diameter of the primaries is 45mm. I got it as part of a job lot of parts so I only know what the seller told me, which is that it came off a CSR. It's in very nice condition but I don't know the year I'm afraid. The part numbers/markings that I can find on it are: silencer - CSP907B. cat - 4575, ECOCAT OY 85324, E1007507. primaries - no obvious markings.
  15. There's a chance it would fit but I'm not enough of an expert to know for certain. Why don't you ask the question in tech talk?
  16. My Dad wears glasses and tried several on when buying. He found an Arai was the best fit for his shape and size of head. I would normally suggest that you try several on but I suspect retailers will not be too keen on allowing that at the moment.
  17. I suspect whether it is acceptable or not will depend on the track day organiser. I am doing a Javelin day on Wednesday and their instructions say drivers of open topped cars must have a full face helmet (which the one linked to is) with a visor (which that one doesn't have). Surely the issue with glasses is around the ears rather than being anything to do with whether or not the helmet has a visor.
  18. Buyer changed his mind so available again.
  19. My car is also ex 2009 Academy. I agree that the speedo sensors were on the nearside rear hub and would have been required for the IVA. Race cars always seem to have them disconnected but I don't know why. My sensor is missing from the ARB bracket but it's a 10 year old car that has never been MOT'd which tells you how much road use it's had. The mileage has read just over 3,000 for many years I suspect. I have a GPS Speedo on my lap timer that I can use if necessary.
  20. Full exhaust system from a CSR comprising primaries, cat and 7" silencer . All in good condition and would cost a fortune new from Caterham. £600
  21. I'm not sure where it broke as the whole thing is still in there, including the head. It now just spins but nothing comes out. I have a tame brother-in-law who may be able to help :)
  22. Thanks for everybody's help. The bolt is all still in there. I think I may give this one to a professional.
