Because the of the design of the engine unless the crank and sprocket are keyed the front cover really needs to be fitted.The adjustable cam sprockets can be reset with the front cover in place.

When I weighed my engine complete with all fittings and the drysump system it was 110kgs.Since then I lightened lots of parts. Alternator mountings are now alloy. Remote filter is now replaced by my new housing.

The 2.0ltr Duratec from my car weighs 112.5kgs. That includes starter motor, alternator, engine mounts, remote oil filter and hoses, pace dry sump pump and hoses, clutch and flywheel, engine wiring loom,and throttle bodies.

The Duratec is a great engine. My car has 600+ miles on it. It is using a Pace dry sump system with my design sump tank, which various people are now using for the K series. Power output is around 190 using a Scholar Engines map.Engine will be out during the winter for the upgrade.
I would be interested to know how much Pace are quoting for this tank. I did the work designing this tank and Pace have sent pics of my car to the fabricators. If they had asked they could of had the drawings.

Remove th screen.Undo the 2 nuts either side,and the bolts going through the column support,remove the heater screws and the fuse box.Drill out 2 rivets on the out side.Unscrew both wiper spindles and disconnect the washer jet.Disconnect the speedo cable and wires from the brake master cylinder.Unbolt the cut off switch if fitted.On rover cars there is the immobiliser box to be unscrewed on the right hand side.
