  1. I think you will find unless you set the stack to read both sides of the cap screws yor speed will read twice your speed. Neil Greer had this problem. As I said ,on my car anything above 98mph and the reading went wrong. No amount of adjustment corrected the problem. Mick
  2. Miles My car would not read over 98mph, it would drop to 60+. I have changed the cap screws to bolts and cured the problem. I think the stack sensor tries to read both edges of the cap screw but above certain speeds it confuses it. Adjusting the gap between hub and sensor made no difference. 3. This was posted on the Duratec Performance website some time ago Thank you for your enquiry about the Duratec Cylinder Head that Cosworth is developing as a performance aftermarket part. For your information, this head is going to be part of a performance upgrade kit of parts that Cosworth is developing. The kit will include the head, 'Power By Cosworth' inlet manifold, inlet/exhaust cams, larger valves, valve springs, forged piston and connecting rods as well as a recalibration of the existing ECU. Whilst the kit is still very much in development, we aim to achieve 100bhp increase over the standard engine without resorting to forced induction and the increased weight of a turbo/supercharger. The kit of parts is still being developed and as such is not currently available. We aim to launch the upgrade kit (in conjunction with Ford) at the International Auto Salon (2-4 April 2004, Los Angeles Convention Centre) at which point we will be taking orders through Cosworth Racing Inc. at the following address: Edited by - mic on 25 Aug 2004 07:51:50

  5. The fuel guage does not need calibrating on the Caterham Stack, the oil and water warnings are preset.
  6. Mike It wont be much help measuring mine or Jackals car. Our exhausts are a larger size tube and also set 18mm further forward as I used a different bellhousing when I built these cars. Mick
  7. The alloy plates are not fitted with the new type ears. The new ears are machined all over where as the old type were rough finished around the edge. Mick
  8. Its not unkown for diff mountings to break on cars with lots of power. The Duratec chassis is made for this. Its a lot easier to do when the the chassis is new than having to repair later. If your converting a car then its worth waiting to see what happens. Mick
  9. Tom We did 200 miles on a track day with the Raceline sump with no problems, using CR500 tyres. Oil temp was inline with the water temp. Mick
  10. Neil You will need to replace everything from the g/box forwards. You can reuse the radiator. Mick

Ammo "Allows me to sleep like a baby at night." Thats where you're going wrong Ammo, you should be working not sleeping. 😬 Mick
  12. It is the brake servo pipe blanking plug. Without it there will be an air leak causing the engine to run weak. The plug should be a tight push fit. Mick Edited by - mic on 2 Jul 2004 19:39:39
  13. It may not be the problem in this case , but its not unkown for the foam baffle to break up and block the pickup.
  14. After the conversation I've just had, Ithink you should fit an old VW golf engine and auto box. 😬

    wiring help

Richards car does not use an MFU. His starter button is wired to operate a relay fitted in the spare slot in the fuse box. If you are still stuck Richard give me a call. Mick

  18. Ammo Ithink after 1994 chassis are OK. They have the correct holes for engine mounts made for Raceline, Minister etc.
  19. Neil On the cars with widetrack thereis a spacer between the mounting eye and the sping seat. This is not used with the adjustable bilsteins. I'll send you a picture if you like. My new car is great, surprising what a difference the g/box and dampers make. Mick
  20. Neil The caterham trackday dampers do not have the extension on them. Yuo have less droop but more travel before you reach the bumpstops. Mick
  21. Alex Duratec sevens use the V6 Mondeo assembly, but I'm sure you could adapt it to fit your bellhousing.I have a picture if need it. Mick
