  1. Let us know how you get on Paul. Can't hurt to enquire. I wonder if there's an upgrade for some stronger jobbies.
  2. I heard they had a lot of problems with those, are they now sorted?
  3. I bet you'll be surprised how large the tollerance is on them!
  4. yea whatever. You're obviously not going to get my point, so no point me going any further. Have a nice weekend. If you're ever over here, come and share some Malt with me on my terrace., and we can have a chat about more pleaseant things, as I'm sure you know as well as I, life's too short Mate.
  5. Simon. I don't have a problem. Who has been slagging anyone off? Read Philip's first post again. Unless I'm missing something, that doesn't sound like a slagging to me. Phill G's post here Was he not just asking for an opinnion? I think you are being a bit oversensitive here. Oh, my profession, for the last 16 years, I'm a yacht captain/engineer, I've worked on 50 million Dollar private yachts up to 80 meters, where perfection is the minimum standard. In my previous life, I worked in QC for Caterpillar Tractor Co.
  6. Thanks for the Blatmail Mav, but no thanks, I'n not keen on running up my phone bill with an International phone rant. As I said I can't be bothered. 😔 We all know there are quality issues with certain components, but we put up with it, becuase we are enthusiasts. If we can't have a moan about it on here, with fellow enthusiasts, without a moderator jumping up and down on his soap box, then it's a poor show. Caterham watch this forum, they have every opurtunity to respond if they want to. As an aside, I wouldn't bother contacting Caterham Cars, if I had this problem with wheels after 2 years. After all, they're not exactly top notch stuff. Less than a year yes. I'd just replace them with something of better quality. Then moan about it, to forwarn others.
  7. Stuff like this really pisses me off! It's a forum, for Seven enthusiasts. Oh I can't be bothered!

Quaife are very good to deal with I've just ordered a torque bias diff from them, including brand new Sierra case, cheaper than a standard open diff from CC. The diff unit also has a lifetime warranry.
  9. Of course if we had a members only section......... Enough people have asked enough times about this now. Didn't a member take CC to small claims court over this, and lost?
  10. Linky. Oh yes! 🥰 Just needs a Harley H1 popping in. That's some seriously modded suspension too! I like the NACER duct, and the bonnet bulge. So much nicer than the easy option of cutting a hole. Edited by - Mickrick on 28 Oct 2009 18:14:45
  11. What about moving the gearbox back? i.e. a transaxle, and leave the engine where it is.

Then go in with a cricket bat! Splat! 😬
  13. Here's the link. Thanks for your comments guys. It just makes more sense to me. After all, that's the way your ankle moves. The more I go into my build, the more I think I should have bought just a bare chassis! The passenger side footbox has to come out for the dry sump tank. The drivers side will probably have to come out now. I can't see a problem tacking some box section in, with tapped holes to accept the pedal box, as there's already chassis bracing under the box anyway.
  14. Thanks Darren Found it, but I'm thinking more along the lines of replacing the lot. And I will be fitting a hydrualic clutch. Sigmamark, I found the company who sell the pedalbox you have fitted here Click on "Bromsar", then "Bromsvagar" in the dropdown menu, and they're about halfway down the page. I like the AP ones, and the ones by AITEC. It looks like the AIT-C55 floor mount, and AIT-C60 top mount are the same components, assembled the other way around. Quite neat being modular like that, as you can adjust the hight, and spacing, or mount them the other way around. A bit cheaper than the AP ones too at €999. Nice billet ally too. Sigmamark, how do you find them apart from nowhere to put your left foot? I thought there'd be excess room in the SV footwell. Edited by - Mickrick on 24 Oct 2009 19:07:05
  15. Epimetheus, it's all about the engineering I don't look at building my car as trouble, the building for me is my therapy. I like problem solving, and anyway, I can't live with those pedals. 😔 MB, very nice! 🥰 That would solve the problem of packaging the cylinders jonboylaw, can't find them on that link I like the AIT-C55/08 here.
  16. Oh wow! Cable adjustable brake bias in there too! Brilliant! Can't beleive you have pictures too! Right, off to the pub tommorow night, to scribble on beer mats. 😬
  17. Thanks p Something like that in billet would be nice. And a footrest to the left of the clutch pedal. As you say not easy to package. (Easier in my Fat Boy model though! ) I think the pedals wouldn't be a problem, but the master cylinders maybe. Picking my chassis up in a couple of weeks. I'll have to get my tape measure out, and start scribbling on beer mats. 😬 It's beem done then Ian. But not very well from the sound of it. I recon the whole footwell box would need modding. It would certainly have to come out to strengthen the mounting area. Edited by - Mickrick on 23 Oct 2009 21:25:28
  18. Stressed Dave, I assume from your comments about the late Mr. Staniforth, you don't rate him much, sorry if I've got the wrong impression, but saying that, do you think his methods are O.K. for calculating roll center hight?
  19. Make more sense to me ergonomically. Anyone fitted them in thier Seven? I mean, look at the state of these! How the hell am I supposed to drive the thing like that! I'd like to rip the lot out, pedal box and all, and put somthing else in, including dual master cylinders with an adjustable bias bar. Any thoughts/sugestions?
  20. Sorry to but in, but, I think you get what you pay for regarding dampers. IMHO.
  21. Have a Linky on me. And another linky to Tims car pages.. Edited by - Mickrick on 23 Oct 2009 15:15:08
