  1. Cheers SM25T, but not to worry. I just want to compare sizes to the bag of bits that are coming my way. They may be of use to me, maybe not. If not then I can look at prices. Thanks anyway. Can't find a reference yet to the outer joints.
  2. You must have been digging into your old files? Thanks very much! I see from the part No's the are National rod ends? Can you remember who supplied them to you? Was it these guys? Thanks for the prompt.
  3. ECR, Mavic, any idea what sizes/supplier you used? I've been promised a bagfull of various sizes from a guy who worked with an F1 team. Apparently they are very light and shiney. 🥰
  4. Cheers Willie That's what I wanted to hear! Good tip too. Thanks. Patience my friend, patience. Rome wasn't built in a day. Things are actually happening.
  5. Actually, thinking about it.... I can't see how it would make everything hard? That's down to spring rates, and damping surely? I can see how you would maybe get a bit of vibration. But reducing friction of the moving suspension parts has got to let the dampers do their job more efectively? Of course, my musings are all hypothetical. I know zilch about suspension.
  6. Mmm...see what your saying. It's just that they're so nice and shiney, compared to a bit of rubber. 😬 Reduced friction, infinate adjustment, vibration..... The car is just a toy though, so a bit of noise, and a harsh ride is all part of the experience. Interesting web site here .
  7. Yep, that's one of the others I've ordered with it, along with the "Race and rally car source book" also by Allan Staniforth.
  8. Thanks for the replies. I was thinking of cutting the bushings off the wishbones, and welding in a threaded sleeve into the wishbone tube, to accept the rose joint. Is this how it's done? Same with the wats links etc.
  9. How about going to a sign company, and getting some Kawasaki green stickers cut? Edited by - Mickrick on 29 Aug 2009 13:07:55

    What next.

    *arrowup* Ooops! 😬
  11. Has anyone done it? I was thinking that those metalastic bushes are a bit Austin A35.
  12. Smashin'! Just ordered it, along with a couple of others. There are lots aren't there? Looks like I'll be spending more time in the smallest room. Thanks again.
  13. Aaaahh! Norman! Now you've gone and spoilt the anticipation. Better a screw through the knee, than through a nice shiney CR500 though eh?
  14. Norm, 😬 Maybe we can keep this thread going by, "Guess the BB" I'll start it off with car lift? Kenny, your knee's screwed then! 😬
  15. any good books on suspension setup? Thanks in advance.
  16. No need to cuss, and say Bottom! You never stated the reason?
  17. If it was me, I'd let the guy turn up with the trailer, and tell him it was up to him to check! Not that I'm a difficult beardie old bugger. 😬 That should make another page..............

Over £20 new ? Quite a bit over 20 quid I would think?
  21. Credit where it's due. Slight hijack...I sent you mail about the wheel Kenny. maybe you were in Spain at the time, as you say. If it's a real PITA to get it to S'hampton. I'll stand down. Or, I can wait. Sorry about that slight hijack John. Go and look at Kenny's sweet little X flow, I haven't seen it in the flesh, but from what pictures I've seen, and the neat engine bay installations, I'd have taken a chance to buy it unseen, if I weren't deep into my project. At least with a bare ally car, you almost get what you see, and you have to option to paint it later.
  22. Kenny had a really nice x flow for sale. Don't know if it sold though? Not on PH anymore. Why not look for a bare ally car? No surprises there There are much nicer examples than the car you looked at. The paintwork is shocking, and it's obviously been bodeg with a bit of pongo. Also, as Norm says, a well cared for car won't have superficial rust like that. A concienciuos owner would have cleaned it up.
