  1. Green springs and Bilstein dampers. Were fitted to a k-series car with under the tube deDion. I believe they're 250lb front, 170lb rear according to 'the internet', but willing to be corrected. 2.25" diameter springs Handling is superb- very good response and perfect balance, but for my 99% road use, a little stiff, so I've changed back to standard stuff. Condition wise, they're cosmetically average so probably not for the polishers, but the threads are all in good condition and the platforms move freely. When I got the car, I thought one of the rears was slightly damp. I cleaned it and 400 miles later it was still dry so in retrospect they seem OK, but I'd rather disclose everything. I have photos but i can't even find the guide of how to upload, so send me a message and I'll email them. Collection from just North of Milton Keynes or I can bring along to the Northants Beds and Bucks Christmas meal on Wednesday 20th. I'll also happily post for £20. Cheers, Simon
  2. Sold. Cheers Sam. Now bring on the snow!!! Peter, will it also take honours for fastest ever moose test on snow?
  3. Volvo V70 T5 SE Manual 2002 ('02 plate) 88000 Full Service History MoT until December 2013 Tax until end June 2013 Scarab Green Pearl with Beige Leather Interior - 9 speaker Dolby ProLogic Stereo with 4 CD in-dash changer - Full leather - Electric windows/ mirrors - Dual zone climate control - Trip computer - Retractable luggage / dog net - 17" 'Amalthea' Alloy wheels with 225/45 R17 tyres - Tow Bar with single electrics I'm very reluctantly selling this car, only because we've combined 2 cars into one, so it doesn't make financial sense to keep both cars (and I've bought an old school Volvo as a project car :-) ). The car is a brilliant mix of comfort (fantastic seats and stereo), and performance (cracking engine), whilst it has also surprised me with it's fuel economy (always over 30mpg for mixed driving, typically 33-34 on a run and a best of 37mpg over a tank (admittedly trying, but it can be done). During the time I've had the car, it's had: - Front wishbones/bushes - Inner track rods - Outer track rods - 4 x Goodyear Eagle F1 Assymetric 2 and 4 wheel alignment - Rear brake shoes (replaced as a precautionary measure as original ones have tendency to separate and damage the hubs) - Full service inc spark plugs, air filter, oil etc The cambelt was done at 75k miles. The car has had the common issues dealt with (wishbone bushes, track rods, brake shoes) and is after the cut off date for cars with ETM issues, so is also OK on this count. Mechanically in excellent condition, body work is very good with the exception of a small dent on the driver's door. Interior also very good condition overall. Non smoker's car Viewing welcome and test drive only with proof of insurance, otherwise, I'm happy to demonstrate the car to you. Photos here £2600 ONO Cheers, Simon Edited by - simon_hill on 12 Dec 2012 20:32:57
  4. Good point! Front wheel drive Caterham with twist beam rear suspension!
  5. Due to changing cars, we've got these winter tyres and steel rims for sale. Tyres are the very highly rated Goodyear Ultragrip 8 (multiple test winning) in 185/65 R15 size. In almost new condition (all >7mm tread). Wheels are 15" (obviously) steelies, which are suitable for a Nissan Note (and Micra). They'll also fit a wide range of Renaults here. Looking for £260 for them. Many thanks, Simon Edited by - Simon_hill on 9 Dec 2012 12:30:32 Edited by - Simon_hill on 11 Jan 2013 09:36:14
  6. Cheers for the comments guys - will pass them on to Mark. A few people have been interested in the car, but no-one's been up to see it yet - I think anyone who did come to see it would probably snaffle it up - it's a very low mileage car (as a result of my failure to get him out in it enough!), super tidy and has wanted for nothing. If I was in the market (and hadn't just sold my 7 for practicality reasons), I would have probably had it off him myself. As you mention, a cage can be both attractive and perhaps put people off at the same time. I think it's one of those things that appeals more once you've had a 7 and are looking for that extra chassis stiffness (or safety) - certainly changing to cages seems to be a catching disease round here!! I don't think there is a heater, although if an original superlight is important, then a heater really isn't part of the superlight ethos (and frankly there's probably 1 trip a year I missed having removed the heater from my own 7!!) Regards battery location, I've no idea why it's there - it was there when we went to buy the car for Mark in the first place. I suspect someone in the past has had a duff banner and then thought such a small battery isn't up to the task, so has put a larger battery in. Edited by - Simon_hill on 13 Oct 2012 20:56:10

  8. Posting on behalf of my friend for his lovely spec and condition Superlight, which is for sale due to lack of use (despite constant ribbing from me to use it, he has so much on the go, it just doesn't get used enough). After much thought I have decided to sell my beloved Caterham Superlight due to other commitments meaning I'm not driving this fantastic car as much as it deserves. I am the 3rd owner since it was built in 1998 and registered in1999 and have owned the car since 2006.I have really looked after this car, as have the previous owners, and I have all the receipts from 1998. It has just had a full service by Northampton Motorsport and comes with 12 months MOT and Tax. The car also comes with a superb private plate, which will be the envy of other Superlight owners (C4 TSL). - 14,280 miles - Mango Orange with exposed carbon fibre on noseband and rear wing protectors - Tillet seats with Willans 3" FIA 4pt harnesses - Carbon fibre dash - Removable Momo steering wheel - Battery cut off switch - Big red starter button - Wide track, de-dion suspension with uprated springs and adjustable spring platforms - Caterham AP brakes - Black Centred Minator Wheels withYokohama 48R's - 1.8 K Series engine with dry sump, ported head, 740 cams, Jenvey individual throttle bodies (worth it for the sound alone!), Emerald ECU, Steel lightweight flywheel, AP clutch. Built in 2009 by DVA Power and tuned by Northampton Motorsport. 165bhp (power and torque plots available). - Caterham 6 speed gearbox - Limited Slip Diff - Competiton exhaust - Full Roadsport roll cage - Full weather equipment plus Soft Bits for Seven Half Roof and Touring Tunnel Bag, 12V and USB sockets (useful for Sat Nav & MP3 players!)
