  1. I too can appreciate how much goes intot trying to sort out the calendar for us, so thank you to Matt and of course to our new Comp Sec . I also think it is a shame we could not fit Wiscombe in - it is one of the loveliest venues we go to, and one of the most demanding - as well as providing an opportunity to visit the seaside . Even if lost for this year, I would certainly vote to try to get back there next year. Mike
  2. Hmm.... not sure what I think is the best now*confused* I was quite looking forward to using the 'other' setting on the Emerald and using the whole 205.7 BHP recorded on the rolling road just before Anglesey. It apparently made 220bhp on the dyno when first built, but obviously my co-driver Chris has worn it out a bit*wink* I do have the feeling that we need to do something new in C4 for next year - at some of the events it was only Jeremy and myself and a 2 entry class - even if competitive, which it was, is not what most of us want. If we are likely to attract a whole new group of people with 190 bhp that is fine, let's keep it, but I am not sure there are many around that 'naturally' fit into that limit anymore, and realistically, any people trying it for the first time are highly unlikely to get their R400 detuned to dip their toes in. I can be persuaded either way, but I think at the moment I would vote for the raised limit to 210bhp. Mike
  3. We have booked as well - looking forward to picking up and keeping forever a huge trophy Mike
  4. At least it will be the same for us all - thank heavens for a tyre warmer though So far we have managed to annoy two sets of neighbours - one with the hedges (obviously) and when Mark came over to kindly help diagnose the problem I had with a missfire after Wiscombe - a very irate lady stormed up the drive to tell me that we had been making that noise revving the engine all day and that it was totally unnecessary...... I should have asked her to elaborate - she may have been a expert in K series engines and she had already worked out it was a gasket failure on the jenveys ...or maybe not. She wasn't even next door, but from across the road. Mind you, I did have the airbox off........ I hate to think what she makes of the continuous noise the birds make round here..... to say noting of the foghorns and the fast cat ferry to the IoW! I think I will complain to someone about both It would be interesting to know who at Gurston is affected by the noise - it is hard to imagine who is near enough for it to be a real nuisance, and how many weekends a year? And I am not surprised someone has complained about the noise near you Stuart - I have been sitting in the paddock next to your exhaust enough times!!!! Mike
  5. Hello Danny I will obviously have to have a few words with your fiancé to tell her the sort of things only a Dad knows It pains me, obviously as a parent, but we have to be responsible...... well, some of us try to occasionally I am shocked that you are listening to radio 2 though...... Dad

    Clutch

I have seen Gill doing her burn outs and I am not surprised , far too much abuse!! Mike
  7. Thanks for spotting that Dave - I didn't hear it but Barbara had a message read out on Radio 2 on Sunday Apparently she thinks she made the right choice earlier this year........ Obviously I do too 😬 😬 😬 Mike
  8. I think Team Rioja will be there, so please put me down for a place as well if still available. Thanks Mike
  9. Less of the 'older' if you don't mind Of course, depending on how it goes on the day I migh just keep entering under that pseudonym 😬 Mike

    Thank You

Just a quick note to say thank you to all of you for the kind words in the card and of course the present *biggrin*on the occasion of our wedding. We had a lovely day and I am sure the red wine will only help to make our future together happy if not all that coherent when trying to speak 😬 Many thanks to you all. Mike & Barbara
  11. If you still have some left I would be very grateful for 2 - will blatmail the address. Cheers Mike
  12. Please put Team Rioja down for 2 places. I will check with Kate and Chris as well, but someone will have to look after baby Tilly
  13. I am pretty sure I will be there +1. Doubt if Chris or Kate will make it as either she will be very large by then, or there will be 3 of them Mike

    Loton Dates

I know I may have missed something about this , but are we invited to both the 13th and 14th July meetings at Loton., and if so, is it the Sunday 14th that is a round of the championship? Mike
  16. Just don't forget to turn the map onto the full sprint one this year 😬 You know it makes sense...... Mike
  17. Just found out the Stag is closed. I have found somewhere else nearby and trying to contact Malcolm and Judith - already spoken to Stuart - Chris give me a call on 01489 572655 if you want me to rebook for you. Cheers Mike
  18. Hi Mark, I assume you are very kindly including Paul 4* as part of Team Rioja - I am sure he will appreciate the initiation into the Team Of course, it may not do too much for his performance on Sunday...... Thanks Mike
  19. Count me in as well please Mark. You had better also assume that Paul will be joining us if you can get the booking or he is going to be a bit lonely Thanks Mike
  20. The results are now up on here http://www.swtimekeeping.co.uk/Pages/Resultsdownloads.aspx Interestingly it looks like my second timed run was as good as the boys in Class 5 -oh but then my first was quicker 😬 Well done to Stuart for a very impressive time though. Mike
  21. But Alan - have you signed a contract with your engine supplier for next year yet? 😬 I understand that the rates could get pretty competitive..... Congratulations Graham - really well done. Mike
  22. Thanks Lynn Despite a slight damp start - it was a lovely day and went really well. I can even confirm that as we had carefull chosen the wine and excluded any Rioja, there were no major faux pas' on the speeches front 😬 I think their honeymoon plans reach a little further than Curborough - but thanks for the good wishes from everyone. Mike

    Harewood...

Thanks Shaun for reminding me - it must just have been a very slow run 😬 Anyway, looks like the the yellow trowel will match the last one to go off - just checked the results and Paul definitely wins it on T2! Mike

    Harewood...

I am not sure who you are referring to Gill, but sadly it appears that the last white water slalom run has destroyed my video recorder - so there is no record of any possible excursions that I may have had - not that there was anything significant of course Mike

    Wheels

I am a bit worried about using the new set of Avons on the MB wheels at Curborough as these wheels can apparently fall off for no reason. Is it there anything I can do to make sure this doesn't happen, or is it only a problem with blue ones ? Mike
