  1. Well, it wasn't looking too good after practice, so I had to do something I think the final margin was perfectly acceptable, although as it was your first time there, I don't think I will make the same offer again. Actually it is quite useful to compare notes after runs - I will have to get my other tyre warmer trained up. It was a pleasure 😬 Mike
  2. I thought I said you mustn't mention the R300 bit Never mind,I have erased all distinguishing marks so I am sure none of your competitors will bring it up 😬 Mike
  3. Hi Alan, I have a Class 2 & 3 winning 1800 sitting in the garage. Of course with that sort of pedigree it will not be something I expect you to blow up as well . It is EU3 and with a few bits from your 'used' one it should be ready to go. let me know. Cheers Mike
  4. If anyone is still looking for somewhere to stay, I have just cancelled a double room here for the Friday and Saturday nights. http://www.driftwoodbb.co.uk/index.html There are a few of us staying, and unfortunately my tyre warmer has had to pull out (very inconsiderate 😔) so a room is now available. Mike
  5. I didn't manage to get enough red wine down him at Wiscombe as the results were too close, but I am sure with Paul's help we might do a bit better this time Team Rioja
  6. I was a really good day - and so close in class 4 - although Shaun again showed the way - well done. And I was beaten by 1 hundredth by some old bloke in an old yellow 7 Anglesey should be fun - I will just have to make sure my tyre warmer goes out first. We are going to practice our Lemans style driver changeovers at Cadwell tomorrow 😬 Mike

    Anglesey camping

Anybody know what classes we are entering for Anglesey? it looks like 2A-2C, but no information if we have our own classes on the Regs. Mike
  8. Indeed Shaun - that was a impressive run, congratulations Apart for having some minor problems with the tent it was a good weekend - except I will have to get a co-driver with less heavy feet , but mighty impressed with his performance, so we might see him back again - but with a reinforced throttle pedal! And I will never be posting as team Rioja -I know who you are Mike

OK - so maybe I did run out of a bit of talent at the end! I am sure I remembered the track beign a bit wider there last time I went through the finish 😬 Of course, this time I actually did go over the finish!! Just as well they are pretty flexible. It was the 'just hang on throught Quarry and throw it over the finish' plan - didn't quite work that time Mike

Thanks Shaun - it takes a while when you are in the saga section Mike

Well it might have been a bit close in the photo, but I am sure this doesn't deserve the yellow trowel here One of the few consolations is that I just know that Matt is bound to get it some time soon 😬 I still don't know how to do the linky thing - now editeded with the linky thing 😬! It really is a great venue and the competition certainly made it exciting Congratulations to Matt for equaling my Class 2 record as well 😬, but I am not sure I really deserve the yellow trowel for just a little touch of the bank on the way out of the top S. Congrats to Ian for avoiding any more aerobatic displays - even with a bit of a hangover - I blame the Chairman ! Mike
  14. Like Lyn said - it just looked so nice out there in the linseed field that I just had to go and have a look!! I will remember next time (maybe) to not hit the inside kerb quite so hard Great venue and weekend though Still a very good time from Stuart - and he only has the narrow front Avons - Alan B will be along in a minute to fill us all in on the finer points of tyre choices Mike

And a 51 blue please kevin - great pics Cheers Mike
  16. Excellent 😬 And to think I was worried about a little popping and banging on overrun with mine! Pity about the flares though - they were so .....you! Mike

    Silverstone Regs

Graham, They came by email a day or so ago - do you want me to forward on? Mike
  18. Hmm - wondered how long it would take I haven't decided on the engine spec yet, but if it is snowing for any of the events this year I recon it is a pretty smart choice 😬 It is a bit like a 7 - inside it sounds as if you are going fast even when you aren't! Wait till you see the tow car Mike
  19. If it is any help - these people made up a connector for me - and a very neat job too http://www.wiringwinners.com/frames.asp I did have to supply the EU3 'female' connector and the EU2 wiring from Emerald though. Mike

    grille

Hi Ian, I have got one, but not the small mesh grille to go behind it. Mike
  21. But I wonder how long Avon ZZRs will last Rodney showed they were pretty good out of the box (if you see what I mean!!) well, off the start line anyway, but will they last..... Looks like we might need 2 sets for the season... Mike
  22. That looked a pretty neat lap Mark - well done, despite the childish bits Wish I could have done one like that! Mike
  23. I am sure all the other Class 1 warriors will be devastated by you going 😬 I have to say that when I moved from 2 to 3 it was so nice to be driving on the 1B rubber after years of living on the ragged edge of 1A - I am sure you will enjoy it. Class 3 will be thrilled Good luck. Mike
  24. OK - will try to put something together - obviously no yellow trowel moments - although that is all in the timing! Just hope my editing skills are up to it 😬 Mike
