  1. I would like to buy this - PM sent. Cheers Mike
  2. Thanks Danny, and to all the marshals and recovery who came to help. Luckily not sore anywhere - except probably the wallet, but it looks like it is just the rear basket that needs sorting and reskinning .....again! I will have a proper look over the next week or so and then a trip to Arch. I was going to miss Blyton and Wiscombe anyway - so just need to get it all back together for next year. Mike

    Engines Ahoy

Roger, will send you a separate message, but although I am pleased Alan didn't overstress the engine perhaps it just needs a better driver to get the best out of it I am afraid I will miss the opener at Goodwood, so I leave it to you Chris to set the new record - although my Chris might come instead to try out all the new bits......... Cheers Mike

    Engines Ahoy

Hi Roger, I do have a spare 1800 sitting in the garage that survived being abused by the very same Mr Bowler who managed to blow up his own engine. It appears that I had rather more success with it than the badger, but then he was obviously being careful I was planning on keeping it put the 7 back to its original spec at some time in the future, but if you are stuck you are welcome to borrow it. It has been sitting in the garage for a few years, but was OK last time it was used. Let me know if you want it. Mike

    Insurance

And you still tried to set fire to the car - outrageous
  7. It may be slightly outside your region, but I have used these people in Portsmouth before for remapping my 1.8 K with an Emerald http://www.jkm.org.uk/performance/index.htm I think I was told that they are approved by Emerald for mapping. The last time I was there was 2016 to sort a problem and they were very helpful. Originally they remapped my 1.8 K 'R400' spec engine with Jenveys after the initial mapping was done by Emerald. Mike

    New arrival!

Congratulations from both of us. Now the fun begins! Mike & Barbara
  9. But the thing is Jeremy, has the chair got the famous sticker on it yet Anyway, I am sure you wouldn't want me to be out there in the cold....... Mike
  10. As it looks like Andrew Willoughby has had to withdraw from Anglesey, I hope that means there is a garage space now available, if so, I am happy to take up the place Mike
  11. I have also now decided to make the long trip to Anglesey, so if any more garage spaces become available,I would be very grateful to hear Mike
  12. Hi Richard, One of those is mine I think, so if you could bring anoher of the 'firsts' to Goodwood that would be much appreciated Thanks Mike

If only I could remember I am sure that is slanderous I took the precaution of not stopping overnight at Gurston last time and felt surprisingly awake in the morning Mike

    Awards lunch thanks

Paul and the team, Thanks from me too - it was a very good day and I think the venue and location is excellent. Thanks for all your work throughout the year to help the rest of us to enjoy ourselves, it is much appreciated. Mike & Barbara
  15. I will restrict my comments to what we should do for Class 4. It has been pretty clear over the last few years that the higher power classes are short of numbers, which probably shouldn't be a surprise as we have a high proportion of 'experienced' competitors with a limited shelf life............. As we have struggled for numbers it is worth making some change to see if we can attract more people into the Class - so I would agree that a 210 bhp limit is worth a try especially if it fits into the current/recent Caterham range (which i suppose it does with the R400) and maybe attracts a few who would otherwise have had to go into class 5 but would have felt they were at a significant disadvantage. I think the only sensible option is to go with the 1B tyres - most of us replace them after a couple of seasons anyway so it is not that great an additional expense. Obviously it means Stuart would have to buy 2 new sets but you cannot account for everyone! Mike

    Grandad Again

We are Grandparents again . Kate had a girl last night and they are all doing well, although Chris looks a little tired! MIke & Barbara
  17. Anybody know if we can drop the car and trailer off the day before - so leasve it there on the Saturday? I am assuming we can as they seem to have a driving day on then - matbe we can use the big storage building again? Mike
  18. Thanks Paul - it will be interesting to go back and have a wander around all those cars of your youth Of course I don't remember any of them, before my time...... Mike
  19. Hi Chris, I seem to have run out of holiday, so I will not be going to Anglesey and so I won't be needing a garage space. Mike
  20. Hi Al, I might well have a clear I can let you have. I have 2 of what I think are the formul helmets and I gather they are no longer acceptable for MSA events next year. I only used the light or dark smoke visors, so I am sure you can have one of the clears. Send me a mail and I will take a picture and send to you. Best regards Mike
  21. Sent from me too. with a few additional bits. Mike
  22. Andy, Congratulations on taking on the job I would be very happy with Cadwell on 18th May, as for me it makes perfect sense to go on after the Club Sprint at Curborough on the previous day. The evening session at Brands would also be attractive, especially if that can be OPL as well. I hope we all make to job an enjoyable experience for you - and thanks! Mike
  23. I am not sure I have really thought about that section of the regs . For us in Class 4 the plan is to keep it all the same as it was in 2014 and I think many of us have had to 'cap' the bhp to fit into the limit. Interestingly (or not!!), although my Tom New-rebuilt engine apparenly made a max of something like 220 bhp on the dyno at the beginning of the year, the max on the rolling road at JKM in Portsmouth just before Anglesey was 205.7bhp - and the capped bhp is about 187 on the map I use at the events. Even if there is some advantage in having a slightly capped bhp engine over one that has a spec that fits the 190 limit exactly, the difference in engine characteristics between the K and a Duratec is much more significant. I am not sure we have much choice with the Ks, and I don't think that in this case we are 'unfairly' exploiting the regulations. On the other hand, I will happily review your map and make the necessary adjustments to make sure you don't have to worry about it I need all the help I can get!!! Mike
