  1. Loads and Loads!!!! Taffia Se7en Heaven 2 day Tour passing through here Edited by - Titanium7 on 19 Jun 2010 20:20:05
  2. Best business phone ever! Still have 2 working on a day to day basis. Great battery life.
  3. Going on the Swiss trip 😬and have no room for boxes of paracetamol so have invested in this here Diff and Gear treatment 'Snake Oil' hoping it will lower volume of the whine! Will report back after a weekend trip to meet up with the Taffia group heading up into North Wales
  4. Peter Would like to see your diff removal method as a matter of interest as I know I will be re-visiting this procedure before long. The first one to be replaced after the build took me 3 hours to remove. Martyn
  5. Same issues. Bought some 5mm rubber sheet and made some mud flaps and also bought some film from here here You may also consider the bodyline strips as this area gets peppered as well.
  6. Join the Club. New build last year, now on my second diff which is now more noisy than the first! CC not brilliant as their first response is TADTS. My first one 'crashed' and 'banged' and after 600 miles seized! CC wanted to take it back and investigate before replacing!!! Finally got them to agree to a straight swap if I took it out and delivered it to the Factory. New one not only has the same problem but whines as well, so much that ear plugs are a must. Not impressed at all. They (aftersales) say they are working on the problem but I do not have much confidence. Be aware your warranty starts when you received the kit, not when the car has been registered. Martyn
  7. Ex education bench drilling machine if anybody is interested, 240v. Pick up only, north Shropshire. here
  8. A few here but they are from a new build last summer. K series engine.here
  9. Paul Fitted some recently myself. I put them down between the inner side panel and stainless steel door edge covers. Just drilled out the existing rivets and pushed down the plate and then re-drilled the same rivet holes and replaced the rivets which now held the plate in place. Martyn
  10. Have some rear wing sheets in the garage but waiting to pluck up the courage to put them on! Did the easier job of fitting some mud flaps last week.
  11. Update Picked up a replacement differential from the factory this morning. Will see if this one is any better! The joys of self build - Parts are under warranty but you have to fit the part yourself. Options were as follows 1. Pay for a new one (£1410) then send the old one back for inspection and hope for a refund! 2. Send the old one back and wait for it to be inspected and hope they send a new one out at some point (several weeks quoted). With a little goodwill asked for aftersales said they would give me a new one as I was prepared to go down and deliver the damaged one. Now bolted back in just the rest of the back end to bolt together and then fingers crossed!
  12. I assembled mine as per manual (with black sleeving) and also ran the earth inside the sleeving into the engine bay and connected on to the earth bolts on either side. Car went to Caterham Midlands for the IVA and they removed the black sleeving and replaced with the clear tube but also connected my earths to the cycle wing stays (no where as good or neat as my original earthing). Probably wil put the earths back inside the engine bay at some stage as I feel a much better solution. The car failed anyway first time due to the fog light not being interlocked with the dipped beam.
  13. After the usual TADTS the noisy clonking diff has given up and brought me to a 'grinding' halt 100 miles from home after a mere 900 miles from new ☹️ The last official response at the car's first service a couple of weeks ago was that 'this is one of the quieter ones sir' *thumbup*for the RAC who got us home Will have to try again with CC aftersales in the morning.
  14. Does Tiger Seal bond to plain rubber?

  17. Green with yellow travelling anticlockwise with weather gear on 5 miles east of M23 junction. Around 3.30pm today. Edited by - Titanium7 on 23 Mar 2010 18:38:00
  18. Not quite the picture you want but this shows the original fitting of my first cable. Ended up having to strip the whole tunnel top out after I found the two nylon adjuster nuts kept sliping when trying to tension the handbrake. Upon fitting the second one I didn't put the twist in the cable (as shown in photo) and the whole fitting was a lot easier. here
  19. Sounds like a plan! Will order one on Monday morning for pickup. Many thanks Nathan
  20. Thanks everyone, I was just seeing if I could source it elsewhere a bit cheaper than CC Just thought someone might know its spec.
  21. Does anyone know the origin of the temperature sender for the oil/air separator tank? Or failing that the technical specification of it?
  22. YHM re: Apollo Tank First dibs if offer is acceptable
  23. Thanks everyone. John What actually was wrong with your diffs, was it the previously reported whine or like mine a very disturbing 'clonking/knock' evrytime the power comes off and on as if there is a huge amount of backlash somewhere in the gear train? Also who did you deal with at CC? Martyn
  24. Martin I sent mine to CC in the Autumn for the PBC and they had a reasonable amount of work to do that was not described in the manual. They presented it and it failed due to the rear fog light not being linked to the dipped beam. They replaced the supplied sleeving on the front cycle wing repeater wires with clear pvc tube and added heaps of additional rubber to the holes where the front suspension parts come out. They also added a good tube of clear silicon around all parts where the rubber was pushed on and around the brake pipes. A real pain to get off after. Rubber 'P' clips were added to secure the handbrake cable (I had used cable ties as suggested in the manual) Numerous additional plastic nut covers were added (not supplied in the kit or mentioned in the manual). The only thing I asked them tyo do was to adjust the clutch as I found it difficult to get into reverse. This they did. Upon picking up the car after the second successful IVA the headlights were swinging about loose and had to be tightened before coming away! Eventually received and invoice for around £900 for the full IVA, registration, tax disc numberplates etc. and 'additional work' for the IVA. Felt a little peeved as I had followed the manual religiously and obviously not aware of the additional/different work required as a proportion of the fee was attributed to the additional work. By getting CC to do it all it becomes a 'no stress' process until you get your wallet out!
