  1. dave if it's of any interest (given your question)my slr flywheel is loitering in the garage and amenable to offers jerry
  2. jimmy i have one and am in frimley, come through farnham at least once a week let me know if you want to borrow it jerry
  3. would suggest the 32r's: reason 2 slr's on new 32r's @mallory i'm a second a lap quicker: onto spa i've changed to acb10's (well worn) and now it's equal- drivers and cars otherwise unchanged plus, if it's damp/wet the 32r's will be more friendly hope that's helpful, enjoy your day out jerry
  4. brian, best excuse to upgrade to carbon nose cone as it doesn't have these 😬 jerry
  5. my slr with standard exhaust has been measured between 99-104dB @ 5,500rpm at a selection of venues needless to say the 104 was at goodwood with their "sensitive" meter haven't bothered trying at bedford or coombe jerry
  6. if you get it repaired get a fixed quote and make sure it won't be quicker/cheaper to buy a new one keep the fittings as the new one won't come with them hope it goes ok jerry
  7. myles i had mine repaired/resprayed (original yellow) but it cost £250 *eek* haven't used it as it took so long upgraded to carbon still have it so if you're in a hurry let me know- i'm sure it's worth less than the repair 🙆🏻 jerry
  8. set of 4 adjustable bilsteins from 2000 SLR £180 working fine but changed to more track orientated nitrons jerry
  9. david have you sold either/both rads? perhaps i should advertise my bilsteins jerry
  10. steve, what is mick's bleed device and from where might i get one? have done the jacking, blowing, warming, screwing routine but haven't tried to dead lift my 7, what's the recommended lift point? 😬 jerry
  11. my '99 spec slr doesn't have a sump plate drain so for me it's off with the blue plate, filter off to drain (just over 4l). check the magnom magnetic filter for swarf (nil, same as back of blue plate) refit plate/magnom/filter 4l mobil 1, crank for a couple of seconds, then fire up, idle, pressure gauge straight back up to normal 4 no leaks works for me (so far) jerry
  12. nick is this mod applicable to those slow k-series cars too? if so any chance i could come to see it?? paul who's making the swirl pot, are they interested in making 2 if answer to above is yes? many thanks jerry
  13. such a useful social skill sorry to disturb your reverie jerry
  14. thank you another w/e beckons with car in the air and coolant being blown over the flowers 😬 who put them next to the drive jerry
  15. paul good to see you too, long wet day would agrre with the pre head gasket checks, friendly mechanic can do these very quickly hope all sorted easily jerry
  16. since changing to alloy race rad water temp has kept about 80, but yesterday despite a traffic interupted run back from goodwood didn't go over 60, yet fan was running when i got back to idle at home is the gauge going on the blink, anything else i should check? thanks jerry
  17. sure demon tweks sell them, but agree with nifty that really not worth the effort/damaged rims. needs a good deal of care from a friendly and properly equipped fitter to avoid damaging the r500 split rims jerry
  18. shame you can't get the mounts off, they fitted well on my radtec i've used the comma propylene coolant (see prev. threads) which goes in undiluted and is green (colour not environment: although not sure how david's plants are since i blew it all over them bleeding the system 😬) what's the red stuff, now i'm worried jerry
  19. believe it's due to the unburnt hydrocarbon, but can't give a technical reference jerry
  20. have used the bike repair system satisfactorily (as martin says, in xs of 50 😬) mine came with the K1 so no idea of cost, but mps or m&p (bike accessory catalogues also on-line) also do them, i have one stashed in the blackbird , probably cheaper than dt jerry
  21. aves not a 999? if so the cat must be wrecked so he'll have to sub a set of termignoni's 😬 jerry
  22. bananaman acb10's are quite prone to tram-lining and not that good in the wet, which is probably where you get the "demanding" tag for road use certainly keeps concentration levels up 😬 think the 032's will give plenty of grip, rims make a significant contribution to the weight jerry
  23. quenton have your changed toe-in/out setting? have just had the same problem with the acb 10's on my slr 13" split rims previously fitted ok, but had camber set with r500 rims/032R's, swapped wheels (at spa 😳)just rubbing but managed ok with a little leverage jerry
  24. interesting thread have just changed to nitrons on my slr reg jan 2000. these mounted through the middle mount rather than the lower for the original bilsteins. was a slight hassle as i didn't have the longer nuts and bolts, but after reading this may be worth it. will be sure to check the nuts when i swap wheels tomorrow anyone else srinting at longcross sunday? jerry
  25. mr t lots of variables, probably 101-102 @ 3/4 rpm if you're thinking of goodwood98 days or castle coombe, take a good book jerry
