  1. richard its not much for 20 litres, looking forward to the torque figure 😬 but i was taken for a spin (fortunately not literally, as i wouldn't be typing) in a 230bhp 2.0 l duratec- was very impressed and even more depressed as they're in the same class as my 177 bhp SLR ☹️ jerry
  2. don't think fuel injection would make a guzzi pleasant to ride , but understand the pride of ownership jerry
  3. david assume you edited to say "when i have an engine" 😬 again, depends on date but would like a few more runs there jerry
  4. graham agreed-not the best, but a safe way to go for someone coming to terms with the dry sump and avoids pitfalls of measuring up/down and missing the tower ridges jerry
  5. option B, as not all the tanks are the same add 500ml, go for blat, check level and catch tank: repeat until oil collects in catch tank- aim to run just below this level jerry
  6. both MI Yam and kawasaki are transverse 4's, but fire in 2 pairs separated by 90/270 degrees(i think) idea is the same as the "big bang" 500 2-strokes in that the pause in firing pulse allows the tyre to regain some grip and gives better drive out of corners with less risk of highsiding still looks pretty tricky to me 😬 jerry
  7. alex well done just remember- women are like cars; you can only take so much hassle and then it doesn't matter how good they look or how fast they go: they've just got to GO! 😬 or is it cars are like women jerry
  8. i used a motorcycle spray oil/tar remover to clean mine off- followed by jet wash jerry
  9. swapped to the radtec last year- survived the seasons racing + le sept (driving 😬) no problems jerry
  10. 2000 slr: variously measured @ 99-105dB at tracks around the country strangely enough always scores high @goodwood 105.5 once haven't been to bedford or coombe due to above jerry
  11. £15 sounds fine to me YHM (I hope) jerry
  12. mike sorry for my confusion, but your post on racing next year says you're going sprinting- which will be in a pretty serious class link to your pistonheads car history says SLR-R500evo-duratec did you go straight to duratec in a new (standard width) chassis? or am i even more disorientated 😳 must get to the poacher sometime 😬 jerry
  13. mike sorry, just seen your post on race plans- you'll definitely be sprinting in a serious class (aero/not List 1A) so i'm sure the stickier the better what did you do with your R500 evo motor? looks like we'll have Csr's racing with us so don't expect to see where they went without major driver and power upgrade 😬 jerry
  14. mike the rears i posted about on your last thread on this topic (short notice before track day) are A31 compound, which is what i've been using for the JCC Centurian race series last year- they only last a weeekend (qualifying and 2x 75 min races) on a SLR (177 bhp) keeping off the kerbs so you pay for the extra grip if it's only track day use jerry

    BLACKBIRD

alicat no, my co-driver from part of last year bought it jerry
  16. paul if you want a SLR flywheel (with all teeth) mines sitting in the garage, came off the car 3 years ago (different sensor for MoTec ecu) give me a call if you're interested 07733 328368 jerry
  17. QWB 131c Outer 4T 03062 Inner 4T 07100SA Wrote it down off the bearing before fitting for next time Hope that helps jerry
  18. BB where are you? i'm normally 43/44 jerry
  19. dave to be fair it does say they are image 2 piece rims in the description- were "previously fitted" to a 7 SLR SLR split rims are 5 spoke jerry

    Wheel sizes

ozzy- you'll lose a lot of unsprung weight on 13" rims-just pick up one of your 15's and a barmby 13 also the higher aspect ratio aids bump absorbtion jerry

    ACB10 Wear

mike they are probably the soft compound (caterham spec. is medium, i use the soft for endurance racing [2x75 mins for a w/e + testing] super soft very much sprint races) jerry

    ACB10 Wear

mike if you need some ACB10's in a hurry i've got a new pair of rears not fitted you can have and replace might get them fited today if you're quick 0773 3328368 i'm in frimley jerry
  23. as iguana has pointed out V-twins may make more torque at lower rpm than in line 4's but are nowhere near in peak power/torque apart from the height issue (plus airbox on top) only motoguzzi would give longitudinal output shaft with its transverse V-twin and that doesn't make a bike move too fast (and won't last if you try to make it faster) plenty of power is available from the 'busa, gearbox is better than blackbird but bike tuningN/A is expensive-really big power is from swedish turbo drag bikes and probably not reliable for circuit racing await flak from Mk1 le mans rider 😬 jerry
