  1. eh? a black jack you say... surely you are mistaken, I thought all caterham jacks were blue and silver...
  2. cant really help with the crack issue, but just for future ref to anyone who's interested I can recommend PLEXUS as 'the' stuff for cleaning the rear, side and door windows.... excellent and cost effective product. i got mine from www.flightstore.co.uk hope you get your roof fixed.
  3. i got my Yoko A539 from www.topgear.co.uk
  4. i have, leftover from the sale of my 7... 4x used Avon ACB10 - 13" - all on the wear bars, but fine for a track day or two... rears wider than fronts. approx 195/60/13 and 185/50/13 i think. 1x large tin (5L ?) of clear waxoyl, with spray gun. bought and never applied. unopened. stored in warm dry place. 1x standard clutch inner and outer plates. 21k miles with plenty of life left. came out of Vx engined car with Ford 5sp box. (only changed due to new CRB going in, so thought why not). ££ offers? would prefer collection, but postage of waxoyl and clutch probably ok. pls email; grant . erskine (at) gmail . com
  5. insurance. its what its for after all
  6. Yoko A539 in 195/45/15 only £43.18 inc vat from topgear.co.uk - £2 per tyre delivery, so still only £45. 😳
  7. www.topgear.co.uk for some excellent prices. i had Fulda Extremo in a similar size on a SEAT Ibiza Cupra, and I recently had Yoko A539 in a very similar size. both of which I was very happy with. better and cheaper than michelin pilots. had Toyo Proxes on an Impreza a few years back, also a very good tyre. and in line with recent blatchat praise I also had a set of Stunner Scudos on the SEAT which were very cheap and as good as the Fuldas... happy hunting.
  8. hi dave, i dont have a bellhousing, but ive got a spare gasket... caterham bellhousing > ford gearbox let me know if its any good to you. grant
  9. hi paul, I know Im a little late on the case with this one, but you are right, there is a bearing present in the end of the camshaft oilway to act as a seal. i remember this from when I had a high-lift cam installed in my 8v. did you rebuild the engine with a standard cam or take the opportunity to put a hotter one in there, possibly with a little headwork? does wonders on these engines.
  10. AFAIK common ratios are 3.73 3.89 4.11 for ital axle
  11. if you've got any old copies of EVO magazine it'd be worth looking up the Long Term Test pages on the various Mini's that EVO have run... they went through a couple of different sets of tyres and commented on the improved ride/handling on non runflat tyres. also www.topgear.co.uk are excellent for tyres
  12. someone must have fitted a new CRB......... part numbers / source? thanks

think my clutch bearing is gone. will i need to fit a whole clutch kit or just swap the bearing. mchanic says do the clutch while we're in there, but the car is only 21k miles. Edited by - granteuk on 7 Nov 2005 21:01:50 Edited by - granteuk on 13 Nov 2005 15:54:54
  15. i think optimate is considered an 'intelligent' charger in that it can switch modes and after extended periods will discharge the battery then fully recharge it, including a desulphate function... can be left on for extended periods. supplied with a short cable and 2 pin socket which you hard wire to the battery for quick connection/disconnection while leaving the bonnet in place and not mucking about with crocodile clips. its what we sell at work for motorcycles. about £35
