  1. As another SV owner am pleased to hear that you have finally found the answer to this one. I have learned some more about SV's from your process, so thanks for that I had a nasty creaking from the n/s rear for some time which turned out to be a Watts linkage rod end. Now happlly resolved thanks to SM25T
  2. I now have a few "in stock" in anticipation of future failures Ian
  3. Quoting Fil M: I had the same symptom on my SV roadsport 2001 de dion and it was the rear most rod end on the right offside Watts linkage. I could not have discovered it by pulling it about in situ. I got a replacement very reasonably ........ Strandbearings@tiscali.co.uk Part number XM 4 T -1/4''x5/16'' UNF Rod end. They were £15 each a couple of years ago. Tel No. 01903 241621. I bought two ...one in my garage for the future ... I put the other on the car. You will find CC's prices way over for the same thing. Very very easy to replace...10 minute job..i did it without removing the whole linkage ... knocking sound disappeared straight away. Tom New our local '7' garage owner pointed out the cause and remedy straight away. If your in doubt for the cost alone its worth a try to see if it does the trick. If you need more info BM me. Good luck cheers Have just resolved the loud "Creaking" from the rear n/s of my 2005 SV by replacing the Watts Linkage Rod Ends. It was also the lower one which was the culprit. Thanks SM25T for the intro to Strand Bearings.
  4. If you need it done quickly, you may want to consider these people here. They are Emerald agents and recommended by Dave Walker when he couldn't fit a couple of us in. Ring & speak to Jim, he did a good job on my re-map and that of a fellow ReHaBer.Note: He will tell you his RR reads about 10% low so if the figures are important to you give it a miss, however, the mapping job and service was top class.
  5. ..so how should these be wired, as I beleive I have the same issue. Had to replace the resistor a couple of months ago as it crumbled when i moved it to fit the captive nut retaining channels for a Brooklands set up. It appears to be hot most of the time but difficult to be sure with the knee plates in place.
  6. Quoting Grubbster: Probably a Type-9 but with a mis-print on the gear knob 😬 😬
  7. On A44 approaching Bladon roundabout from Begbroke Direction
  8. After having the bores honed & new forged pistons fitted, Dave Andrews (DVA) suggested 500 miles & then change oil & filter before RR mapping.
  9. Chris ? Apparently not. Edited by - Jerry on 21 Apr 2013 20:05:51 Edited by - Jerry on 21 Apr 2013 20:06:32
  10. Quoting Alan Bowler: Do you need the matched 5AS immobiliser unit to allow the Z&F mapped ECU to work, or do Z&F tweak this as well, so it will work with any 5AS? AB [interested, but not just yet as Z&F maps are "on trial" for class 2/3 club sprinting this season] Can't be certain about this one but it didn't need to be matched when another blatchatter bought my Z&F tweaked ecu. This car was quick before Pete had the latest DVA work done. Cams & the ECU will make a good cheap first step upgrade for someone. 11. I think I kmow what you will be exchanging it for Chris. .... think of it as an investment
  12. It's a special order Andy, need to speak to Nick or Jill.
  13. Quoting Scott Dabinett: Hi, do you know the wheel base of an SV? A friend has a woodford single axel trailer, the bed is 11ft long by 6ft 1 wide. It has been used twice so is near enough brand new! If you blatmail me I can send across some pictures! Thanks Thank you Scott, but ideally I am after a twin axle.
  14. Looking for a decent trailer for an SV
