  1. Arnie The speed I usually overtake K2 BUM i dont have time for seasonings James Su77on Se7ens
  2. If memory serves I think they supply a pair of each thickness for spacing the pump to get the tension on the belt correct. James Su77on Se7ens
  3. Thanks Oily much appreciated. James Su77on Se7ens
  4. Arnie With a bit of fettling you can get one to fit with 87.5mm bores Not sure how it will work yet but a friends vx engine will soon have over 325bhp! With a standard gasket 87.5mm bores etc And before you ask no turbo! Oh yes and a good old faithful pair of carbs! Probably wont last too long but should be a bit of fun! James Su77on Se7ens
  5. Does anyone know what the valve clearances should be for a vhpd engine? James Su77on Se7ens
  6. Steve Go on then wot you after Mark A standard one will be fine for that. I have used standard ones (o.e. vauxhall) in v.high comp (12.7-12.8) engines on pump fuel etc and not had a problem. James Su77on Se7ens
  7. Can you explain why? Mark try another cap first as they are a common thing to fail. They are off a Rover after all James Su77on Se7ens
  8. Alex It wont work im afraid. If your main tank cant provide the engine with enough oil it wont provide the second tank with enough oil. An oil tank should be tall and not too big a diameter in order for it to do its job properly. Anything else will not work properly. If you cant fit a different tank in the car how about an accusump? I have never used one but its meant to overcome brief oil pressure drops etc Depends how long your low pressure lasts for. How about some clever baffles/trap doors in your existing tank? James Su77on Se7ens
  9. Its well worth the journey and the waiting around. If you are a petrol head the waiting around is very interesting James Su77on Se7ens
  10. 1 and 4 are the 2 nearest the multi plug. James Su77on Se7ens
  11. The cams arrived as promised this morning. The car is up and running and back to the customer. Cheers Dave James Su77on Se7ens
  12. I have just re-read my post and I meant to say that the oil gallery bung is just behind the water pump! not the oil pump. (I think arnie knew what I meant!) Sorry for any confusion 😳 James Su77on Se7ens
  13. Has the block been stripped etc? If so i have seen the oil gallery bung which is just behind the oil pump leak slightly after they have been apart. It may be worth checking this or maybe re-sealing it just in case. Good luck James Su77on Se7ens
  14. If my maths is correct my 7 achieves iro 1.5g off the line (With slicks). Obviously this is with only 2 tyres providing the traction. It does not seem at all un-reasonable to have figures of 2g under braking as there are 4 tyres providing the traction. James Su77on Se7ens
  15. Matthew Depending on where you get the shims from they can be bought un-finished in a few sizes. Have a bit of a work out roughly what size you need and get ones which are as close as poss. It saves a lot of time etc having to machine them as much. IIRC Arrow and QED do them in a few different sizes. Not sure about SBD though. Good luck James Su77on Se7ens
  16. Peter Its good to see that you finally listened James Su77on Se7ens
  17. Adam The way my line lock works is basically it maintains whatever pressure is applied to the circuit it is plumbed into. ie to do a rolling burnout just apply less pressure on the brake pedal before activating the switch. The problem with using it on the rear circuit is that you would need to apply the brake at the same time making it harder to operate effectively. If you can wait my car should be back in one piece (hopefully!) for the next surrey area meet and you can have a look etc. I may even demonstrate it James Su77on Se7ens
  18. Adam I use an electric line lock which is activated by a small push button switch. Its great for burnouts as well as a handbrake for normal road driving. Its made by Morosso and I got it from Real Steel. (not sure of the phone number). My car has always passed scrutineering with the proportioning valve fitted under the dash 😳 James Su77on Se7ens
  19. Its a LN block with a GM head. If you ask nicely I could arrange a straight swap for yours James Su77on Se7ens

  21. Does anyone happen to know who makes a vernier pulley for these engines and maybe the part number etc? James Su77on Se7ens
