  1. Seven Workshop in Hoddesdon? www.7workshop.com / 01992 470480 Not sure if Chris works Saturdays though. AB
  2. Had an excellent time. Fantastic circuit, great organisation. Thanks to those who searched for a rear brake pad for me. Big thanks to Martin B for the help and rapid shuttle to Horncastle Motor Parts! AB
  3. Still not got one then? Go on, call CC and get it ordered. That way 3 will come up for sale at once, and everyone else can get one. Suns coming out now!Its going to be a long hot summer. AB
  4. Last chance to offload that dusty spare! AB
  5. If he isn't then I am! (2nd dibs) Been looking for one (with matched immob/plippers) for a while. There have been a few around without the matching bits, but it seems a whole load of trouble to try and get them synced. And paying ~£150 for CC or others to do the remap on a standard ECU, just to get an extra 800 rpm seems a bit steep, for those of us on a budget. AB
  6. CC shoulder belts are a bit long for my skinny littlun, so I cross them over behind the headrest. Works fine then. Just keep the kids off the exhaust!!!! AB
  7. Preferably silver, standard Caterham style minilite (Superlite?) Any reasonable condition. Don't need a tyre. Anyone recently cut off their spare wheel carrier, and now have a spare kicking around their garage, looking for a good home? AB
  8. Got a bit diverted by the ad for the Victorias Secret underwear there Harry. Not sure it was office safe. Am I supposed to be looking at underwired underwear or cambelt covers? I need a cold shower now. [Also, I though the point was that you really want to cover the belt completely, to prevent a stone causing it to jump a tooth and cause mayhem. Are these fancy covers really doing the job?] AB
  9. Also.. for track days you might want to be careful putting anything too grippy (A048s, CR500s) on if you don't have an Apollo tank or dry sump. AB
  10. I thought I saw something about a change to fuelling with the SS ECU change. Plus activating the shift light. I've fitted 633s, verniers and 52mm throttle body with standard EU3 ECU and it runs OK. Idle is a bit lumpy, but I quite like the noise. I was thinking I'd need the extra 800 rpm, but, the car seems to run pretty well, and if, as Richard suggests, I won't get much (if any) more power with the extra revs (it would just be easier to keep it in the power band) I think I might save my money (or put it in the Emerald fund). AB
  11. YHM re: supersport kit. AB
  12. Got mine for Europa spares "MGA interior" and "G.P. exterior". Small, but look good to me. Drilled the scuttle to fit the exterior mirrors - can't see me wanting to make rapid changes back to the full windscreen. Blatmail me if you want a pic. AB
  13. Thanks for all the replies. I've got a mate who used to provide training for Rover staff... wonder if he's got the software! Cheers AB
  14. Already got the cams + verniers. The going rate for a used ECU appears to be around £75. Would love an Emerald ECU, but the finance dept. (SWMBO) won't stretch to £500. Might have to go into next years budget. AB
  15. If I was to buy a standalone Supersport ECU to go with my new Piper cams and verniers, I understand it won't want to cooperate with my immobiliser. Is it possible to get the immobiliser/plippers resynced with the new ECU, or must I buy them (ECU + immob + plippers] as a set. Previous threads mention finding "friendly" rover dealers - do any of these still exist [if I pitch up at H.R. Owen in Esher and park amongst the Range Rovers & Freelanders they'll probably have my 7 destroyed, and chase me off their land] Any ideas? [1.6K EU3] Thanks AB
  16. I guess I'd need the plippers too - or could swap my non-supersport one. Go on - buy youself an Emerald ECU and soften the cost (a bit) by selling your old ECU to me. AB
  17. Yeah - its great. I can now work 24 x 7 for the same salary. I was thinking of leaving the job... but then came out in a sweat at the thought of giving the thing back. [blatchat posting is possible.... but veeerrryyy slow with alot of thumb scrolling. But now at least I won't miss out on the next set of £20 half doors.] AB
  18. Can I post wiv dis new gadget my boss gave me?
  19. Slight hijack... I'm currently looking at the 633 cams + verniers route (got 'em, need to fit 'em). I was very curious as to whether fitting a second hand 1.6 K (EU3) Supersport ECU would be "OK" with the 633 cams - or whether it really had to be matched with original "Supersport" cams (and so I'd have to save up for an Emerald ECU...). Are 633's and Supersports near enough the same? Also, I read stories of "friendly rover dealers" upgrading standard MEMs ECUs to a Supersport map for ~£15. Is this still true? Where?! Cheers AB
  20. Who's Darren 🤔 If a meteorite hits, I'll still want the tonneau AB
  21. I'm not into personal plates, but if I had an R500 EVO.... R500 EVO plate Would look perfect on a VX lining up at the drag strip. AB Edited by - alan bowler on 1 Oct 2005 21:17:42
  22. Dark green, two-up, maddest googles I've seen for a while. AB
