  1. Not me on Sunday. An imposter ❗ AB
  2. I'll probably just cough up and buy them from Caterham. Posted a "wanted" on the off chance, as somebody might want rid of them. The thread in chit-chat suggesting that screen + half doors + mirrors + tonneau = ~£500 is pretty sobering though. Theres lots I could do with that sort of money. [Martin - got hens teeth. Will swap for the screen. Did you sell your car yet?] AB
  3. Tyrone - Yes, half doors, tonneau, world peace and, if still available, rocking horse manure. [looking for a Brooklands screen, rather than a deflector - but thanks anyway] AB
  4. Winters coming. Go on, put your windscreen back on, and I'll take that horrid, ugly Brooklands screen, that you know you never really liked anyway, off your hands. AB
  5. My first 7 club track day - excellent. Thanks to the organisers and fellow novices for a great day. 😬 😬 😬 AB
  6. M1 it is then. I'll see if the map has dried out from the Baywatch soaking yet. ---It will not rain--- ---It will not rain--- ---It might possibly rain a bit--- ---It will not rain--- ---It will not rain--- ---It will not rain--- AB
  7. Thanks Mark. It prefers the M1 over the A1(M), which is the obvious choice looking at the map. I'm just wondering whether the A1(M) might be almost as fast, but slightly less oppressive in a 7. I haven't driven up north (apart from manchester/liverpool) for years. [Will drive round my village a couple of times first, to get the miles up, in case there is a prize for the longest trip.] AB
  8. 270.1 Fingers and toes crossed for a dry weekend. [i was planning on taking the A1(M) from the M25 upwards. Any major reasons for deviating?] AB
  9. After Bay-Splosh I checked my lights... 1. Fog light not working (never checked/used it before!) pretty wet, plus had a shattered lens (shiny bit inside, but no visible damage on the outside). I guess it got whacked at some point in the past. £10 from Caterham then. 2. Reverse light flickering. When I investigated, it was also very wet inside, but bulb is OK, and I have 12V accross the terminals.., but when I put the bulb in, no light & voltage drops to zero. Is there something I'm missing about reversing light electrics? Brake lights (on same fuse) work fine. Is there a different earth for the reversing light? [No - I didn't reverse through any of the Baywatch rivers with the fog light on!] Any ideas? Thanks AB
  10. If you get a new FIA roll bar from Caterham (the "Caged" one with two diagonals) the existing boot cover will fit OK. If you get a used one with a single diagonal, you'll need a new boot cover too. I don't think there is any problem with the harness (but then I chickened out and got a grown-up to fit mine). AB
  11. Spotted this one too, leaving Mayfair, just before it did bucket down (at the Wireless Festival in Hyde Park). AB

    Cobham

Yellow Q plate, 9:45 PM last night. Gave a wave from my blue/silver 7, but it was getting dark. [Coming back from a fabulous blat down to the coast.] AB
  13. I think you'll find you get to 23 out of 24 pretty easily.... and that they only print 3 Exige cards. [if anyone does have a spare Exige card, I'll take it for £25K ❗ ❗] AB
  14. Was thinking about getting some of these. Someone posted a useful link/description of what the different coloured lenses are for, but I can't find it now. What colour is best for generic sunglasses mode? Rust? [Anyone going to Dunsfold tomorrow got a pair I could try on? - my searching for info has shown up that their don't fit/suit everyone] Cheers AB Edited by - Alan Bowler on 20 May 2005 12:30:38
  15. Took a deep breath and then just drilled it. No problems. (Figured that if the two holes "merged" with the existing ones I'd just make them into slots, and tell myself that was what I'd meant to do) AB

    Novice Day

Yes - I'd be up for one of these. Goodwood isn't that far from me, but seems to have a bit of a reputation as not being suitable for novices. AB
  17. My original boot cover (i.e for standard non-FIA rollbar) fits fine with my "new-style" FIA bar from "Caged". Holes are a bit tight, but fits OK and apparently better than the boot cover for the old-style "Arch" FIA bar. AB
