  1. I'll take the 2003 Assembly guide please. Second dibs on the pair of windscreen stanchions.
  2. Hi Alan, might you still ok to bring the screen and frame to Llandow, Curborough (or one of the other more northern sprints?) Many thanks James
  3. Hi Alan, yes, if you wouldn’t mind picking up from Roger that would be great please. I’m unlikely to be at Llandlow but Steff who’s competing in Class1 will be and has kindly said he’d take it for me, or alternatively I’ll be at Curborough for the next round. Does that sound ok with you, Roger and Alan? Many thanks James
  4. Yes please (for polycarb screen & frame). Anyone heading up Leeds Direction or to one of the upcoming sprint events? Thanks James

    aeroscreen

It looks similar to the aeroscreens more often fitted to Westfields e.g. here

    Timing Strut

Anyone got a timing strut like this one here that they want to sell? Thanks James
  7. Are the ‘Sparco Driving Boots. Brand New, never worn. Black, High ankle, size 43. £60’ still available? If so and they are FIA approved I’ll take them please. James
  8. When you receive an email notification it appears as from 'Lotus Seven Club Forums' and with the subject of 'Lotus Seven Club Forums - Contribution to a Topic'. If it is a popular thread you could get lots of emails. You may be contributing to more than one thread at a time though and you can't see which thread it is without opening the email. Where there are a number of contributions I would prefer to open blatchat to read the thread. So how about the subject of the Email being 'Contribution Re: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx' or in the case of a contribution to this thread 'Contribution Re: Email Notifications - Contribution to a Topic The actual content of the email is fine as is. 9. Jake, I notice that the aero and mirrors have a line through the text. Are these available? If so I’ll have them please. Thanks James
  10. As an update on this, I sent my silencer to Powerspeed and they’ve fitted a new cat into it. They turned it round very quickly and it got through the MOT ok, so all is good Many thanks for organising the bulk buy Gavin James

    Aeroscreen

S3 aeroscreen that would be interchangeable with the full screen and use the same mounting points. Edited by - James7 on 7 Apr 2012 13:22:41
  12. And a related question for the Supersport owners: Does anyone know which gearbox ratios in the Supersport have been changed compared to the standard 5 speed, and what these ratios now are?

    Roll Bar

I think it would be worth a call to Arch or the parts department rather than rely on the online store. As above, you'd be best speaking to Arch who will have originally manufactured the single diagonal bar for the SV. Double diagonal bars are made by Caged. Photos of SVs fitted with both single and double diagonal bars can be seen here. Edited to add in answer to your original questions, 1) Yes the single diagonal should be ok for L7Club track days. I have one on my S3 and it has been fine. 2) Both are designed for track use and should be up to this task. They are often referred to as FIA approved bars but need the petty strut fitting to be used as such for motorsport. The petty strut is required for L7Club Speed Championship sprints and hillclimbs but not for track days. On the single diagonal bar this petty strut braces between the top of the sloping strut behind the passenger’s head and the area where the sill meets the dashboard. On the double diagonal it is down from the centre of the top of the roll bar. The latter is nearer to the drivers head. The former may need you to remove the passenger seat head rest to fit it or tilt the seat back if you have Tillett seats. Edited by - James7 on 11 Mar 2012 13:12:48
  14. Jonny, YHBM Re the LSD. Thanks James
  15. Could be interested in the LSD. What type of LSD is it? How many miles has it done, what is the condition like and how much are you after for it? Thanks James Edited by - James7 on 8 Mar 2012 22:20:19
  16. I believe the argument against is that you can’t see the condition of the rubber if its covered by stainless braid…
  17. I'll take it if its not sold yet please. Thanks James
  18. Thanks guys, they should solve the problem!
  19. Thanks guys. I think I will need spacers to tilt it back if the seat can’t just be removed then as the top of the seat looks to be in the way. Do people just use a stack of penny washers or is there something special I should look for? Re exposing the bush adjacent to a passengers knee, my car is an ex academy so once had a full cage. There are currently bolts going through where the front legs of the cage were. I assume that if I unbolt the one on the passenger side, the strut should mount here ok?
  20. Quoting Leg: Check your safety belt is in good condition and you must have a passenger seat. I have the FIA bar with single diagonal. It doesn’t look like the petty strut can be fitted without removing the passenger seat (Tillet). Could I remove the seat and just leave the belts / put in a foam cushion? I’ve seen references from searching previous posts ranging from as long as there is a seat and belt of some description... to The seat should either be a seat type as being offered at any time as standard or option on a caterham. alternativly a bag type may be used. Also, I don’t have any fixings for my petty strut. What bolts are required? Do I need to drill the petty strut and join the two parts together? I wouldn’t have thought they’d be coming apart once they’re slotted together and bolted into the roll bar and chassis side in any case… Thanks James Edited by - James7 on 22 Feb 2012 14:10:47
  21. BUT its more than 1/2 way to the cost of a fully programmable ECU with which the boundries are limitless. Can see your point if the cost difference is relatively small. Having done some further work to the car, is there a typical cost for a further remap on a fully programmable ECU (assuming you're not clued up enough to do it yourself)? If you go down the fully programmable route, is this still compatible with the standard Rover immobiliser on a K series? James
  22. Quoting A_redstone: So with no full hood what do you use ? Andy I and many others use a half hood. Available from soft bits for sevens and Oxted Trimming.
  23. Quoting charlie_pank: If you're going to stick with the original engine for the foreseeable, even if you're going to change bits of it, then the first step MUST be a programmable ECU and an RR session. Without an ECU you can control, you can't reap the benefits of any of the other bits that you might want to add later to make the engine push you along faster. eg. New exhaust - remap, new intake - remap, new cams - remap, head-work - remap, forged-pistons - remap etc... But the original poster is saying that the MEMs3 ECU is remappable. Appreciate that this service is not widely available (and probably not suitable for big power, the use of throttle bodies, etc?) but could anyone tell me how sophisticated the remapping options are compared to Emarald, etc? How far could you go? From what I hear, the consensus seems to be that while you can’t have too much power on track, some believe that 160-170bhp is enough for the road. If you could get to this level on a MEMs EU3 with new cams and some head work at a lower cost than with a new ECU, would this be a bad thing? James
