  1. Well, i've read up on fitting these and it seems some use Big Heads Fasteners and cable ties, some use Tigerseal, some use bolts, some use a mixture, one used gripfill some use sikaflex 292 i'm edging towards a tigerseal/sikaflex route as i can see no reason why i would remove the wing , or maybe bolts again in just the lower stay I do have 2 tubes of black loctite 5940 superstrong black mastic suitable for marine use, would this be the same? in which case i can afix the wings tonight or do i hang on for some tiger seal which i can buy locally as i hear it's the mother of bonders. Does this stuff really work, i mean i know caterham use it and not bolts but there's a nagging doubt Also is the surface area of the stay good enough as it's not exactly wide. I have rubbed down the stays and hammerited as they were quite rusty so no powdercoat to fail Oh and what's Tigers drying time i.e if i afix tomorrow morning when will i safely be able to blat. 24 hrs? 2. I know SLR's ran 205 tyres on 8'' rims but this is apparently not ideal. Toyo R888's only come in 205 or lower on 13'' dia so what does the cognoscenti reccommend can i use Toyo 205 50 r13 or do i need to use a different tyre size.
  3. Dave et al Thanks for the advice BC impressive as always. So 8" will be fine with the correct offset. I've searched Techtalk for Offset and back depth but only somethging about a victorian house purchase comes up Once correct wheels purchased (i'll be using 13 x 6 on the front BTW so it won't look odd) will 205 be OK or will a wider spec be required?
  4. I've decided to buy 2 minilites for the rear and there is some doubt about 13 x 8 fitting width wise for MOT purposes so at the moment it looks like 7" as my current 10 spokes are 15 x 6.5. Changing cos i prefer the ride and stance of the higher sidewall and want wider tyre for a bit more grip as 6" aint enough before speding i'd like to try a 7 and 8 any suggestions how i might achieve this (i'm near Bath) Also despite endless searching whilst i think it'll be yoko A021's the sizing seems confusing. I'm thinking 205 60 R13 on 7" but maybe i'm wrong just don't want to make a purchase and find it a waste

    Minilites

When i bought my car i had 4 minilites 13 x 6. I changed to the caterham 10 spokes and CR500's and kept the minilites for trackdays. I've looked at changing to some MB rims but really have decided that what i'd like is to have some wider Minilites for the rear only. If i want some 13 x 8 for the rear is this a straight change? and if so what are the old 2 wheels worth shod with some knackered YOKO AO21's Sorry this sounds a bit numpty any help appreciated Also one other point where best to purchase and any particular bolt pattern or are they standard Edited by - wild bill on 14 May 2007 17:25:21

    Bongo Fury

My business partner has a Bongo (actually i think it's a Ford Friendly, same thing) and very nice it is too. Cheap as well. Imported from Archies Autos.
  7. My car is a 97 and it doesn't work as it's supposed to (the intermiitent, not the car, that works just fine 😬)
  8. I use aeroscreen for summer but windscreen for winter and long tours with wifey. Is there a way of having an intermittent wipe. I read in the manual about putting wipe on then turning off again to activate the intermittent but this doesn'r seem to be the case. It's not an urgent job but i'd like to do it as soon as i know a solution if one exists
  9. I fitted my PV battery on Sturday and also used eds own design cage for the battery and reconfigured the battery position and ecu positions at the same time he was also extremely helpful Banner is no comparison Sorry Cagey and i use my 7 nearly every day. Car is much happier and starts first go with a real energy it has never had

  12. Delbert stick to it. I haven't smoked since Jan 1st. it's difficult sometimes but i have found doing some excercise has helped me not suffer too much.
  13. Leon I had the same car (but 97 supersport) when i ordered all my bits. The only thing i would say is that there are different thread sizes depending on age of car and you need to check this with Caterham before you order as my bits all turned up but the thread going in to the oil feed was wrong (but easily changed) I can't remember the specifics but a search on here will turn up the necessary info and i think there may be something in FAQ

  15. I miss it as it was helping to pass the time of day and providing me with endless entertainment. ☹️ perhaps in a month or two if we get bored down here we could set it all off again 😬 I like to think of it now as a sort of ready to go firework that works everytime you light the touchpaper. I'm staying down here , there's nothing worth talking about up there, also the fried bacon sausage and egg down here is fab. Oy Wile pass the HP mate
