  1. Although I am in no rush to sell and only to the right person, BTTT.
  2. Anyone fitted it to a seven? This was asked on Petrolheads forum by someone else and they thought it was mad. I don't fit in the car, never have, and so my accelerator leg tends to give up after 100 miles. I am trying to use the car before I finally sell it and think a retrofit cruise control would work to get me along the motorway.

    Paint code?

Many thanks, my nearest Brown and Bros is Northampton. I took it to a local paint shop and he said I should do it myself, and I thought I would just ring up Caterham for a spray can! There looks to be a business opportunity here, if someone was to produce a colour chart for Caterhams and send the paint in spray cans, mail order. The trouble with white is that there are probably 10 different shades.

    Paint code?

I need to do a little touching up before the 60th. Any idea what code the white is. It is from 1998? Do you need to get it mixed or can you buy it in spray cans? Thanks, Marc Link to photos https://www.lotus7.club/blogs/photos-car-club-built
  5. Back to the top. Just had an oil and filter change new water pump and alternator. New MOT tomorrow. Loss of garage within the next 3 months forces sale.
  6. Engine all rebuilt in late 2014 with all new parts, the engine has done about 1200 miles since then. On starting after 4 months in the garage, the bolt to the water pump behind the pulley had come undone and the car had the high pitched noise. I have replaced the water pump and tightened everything up but still the same noise.
  7. The car the Club built has an engine issue and so has been taken off the market. There is a high pitched noise that sounds like metal on metal but goes away eventually at tick over. I don't want to drive it until I find out the issue, so it is stuck in the garage at the moment. Plan B now is to hopefully take it to lots of events this year to raise funds for Bloodwise, the new name for Leukaemia Research and sell later in the year. 8. Good idea Dave. The Club should really have a covenant to buy back and raffle each time. I nearly sold it last weekend, but the chap was going to take everything off it which identifies it as TCTCB. He would have turned it in to a white Lotus 7 replica without clams ! If he had offered the asking price it would have gone, he offered slightly less and I said no. Marc
  9. Back to the top. The car is now advertised below. www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/c836350 There is some interest and I have to say there is no guarantee a new owner will keep the car looking the way it does at the moment. Marc
  10. I will dig out the old photos at the weekend and put something together. The car has been fairly active at local and regional club level in sprints and auto solo's over the last 12 years in my ownership, winning a few trophies along the way. I have tried to keep it as close to a Lotus 7 as I can and have retained the 4 speed box and upgraded with parts available in the late 60's. The engine was then rebuilt and it has just really been run in for the last couple of years, road miles only. On the rolling road it developed 141 bhp at 6000 rpm and the cam will give max bhp past 7000 rpm. Engine rev limited at 6400 rpm. It is a shame that the car is nearly forgotten and new members don't know what it is? Perhaps I need to put something together for Low flying? The risk is that if it is sold outside the Club, someone may decide to take all the stickers off, change the nose cone and wings (which I nearly did when I bought it!) and put 2 red stripes down the bonnet.
