  1. You won't have as much fun in a Porker but you will be more comfortable oh and be prepared for the hatred of other road users (i was spat at in mine amongst other things) now i drive a seven i aint going back. Suggest visiting a quack asap to get your head tested
  2. BTW oil pressure seems ok and it only sounds like 1 tappet to me but i aint no race engineer
  3. Dearest Blatters recently serviced car (1800 Supersport) timing belts et al and replaced with the reccommended oil. 4.5 litres Horrible tappet noise ☹️ upon start up so ring caterham who say go to 10w 50 part synth oil. This makes the noise go away Now 3 weeks later noise is back but only when car has been driven with a bit of gusto (nothing too strenuous and not over 6500 revs) and the oil presumably has thinned a bit. Any advice guys. I have checked the oil level and this is OK and when car has been driven gently for a bit tappet noise seems to go away I am bloody confused (about most things)
  4. As a year round Severner (I have alternative motors but hell it's just not the same) I am out in all weathers (Except snow, which we haven't had for years) and here's the problem. Water, it's coming in through my heater vent in the bonnet and wetting the passenger footwell and my left leg. Any tips? I thought a colour coded cover might work does anybody know if i can buy off the shelf or is it back to my metalwork training from school Also what protective measures should i take against the rainwater and inclement weather(bearing in mind that it's aluminium and powder coated chassis) is a regular wash and polish enough or is it out with the wd 40 and waxoyl each week Bill
  5. Thanks Dave Think the stays and wings may be OK as car used to have 16 inch HPC wheels but think the only sensible solution is to dig out front part of garage floor and lessen the entrance angle, got a cutter though and this leaves some cash for the engine upgrade thanks for all the hints.
  6. oh no! more choices and decisions already hard perhaps i should move house! BTW anybody in the Bath / Frome area North Somerset as far as i know i'm all alone in a sea of MPV's and Chav rides (big exhausts and neon lights)
  7. Thanks Pete I had thought about that as well as steel plates to act as a see saw but need something a bit more permanent, mind you i'll give it a try, trouble is ride height is so low at the mo that i'm conerned about grounding the sump, anybody getting the same probs?
  8. bought car.....nice ....get home after 4 hours drive, car wont fit in garage as too low..not nice Choice 1) lower garage floor to lessen slope angle going in 2) Buy R300 anthracite wheels with cr500 tyres to increase ride height and keep the 13inch minilites for trackdays as the tyres only have a bit of life left. Caterham say handling should be a slight improvement on the minilites and yokohamas but bearing in mind they probably want my money they would wouldn't they! Also car might look a bit better but appreciate this is subjective . Help.... do i spend the money or save it towards the 160 upgrade and get digging
