  1. You're never alone with a Wild Bill 😬
  2. AAAAAAAAhh there i was upstairs trying to 'lighten the mood' (not working as Nog closed the thread and now another one's started. I did post something truly offensive but edited my post very quickly so i think i got away with it) and not realising that i should be down here taking the p*ss. Boy it's a bit hot up there but much calmer down here and i've got ALOT of popcorn and some sherbert dips to get through. Is this a private club or is anyone welcome here
  3. I'm afraid if there's any lover boys around here they're going to be me although i am of course all man. The rest of you are just pretending. If you want to sign up for some hints and tips on how to get the lovely ladies warm and comfortable i may be holding a seminar in the spring but places will be limited and applicants will be vetted as to potential Edited by - Roger Ruffley-Upham on 4 Jan 2007 13:46:01
  4. I have the Millwood CF full protectors with an Armourfend strip just above the top edge of the protector about 4 inches wide. The CF protectors were cheap and do the job but will get a bit pitted (mind you they look great), it just doesn't notice as much. Armourfend is extremely difficult to get right even following instructions especially on double curves such as a rear wing and it is extremely expensive to muck up.
  5. It would seem that i have to send off the collector and silencer together to raceco for them to sort it as my exit pipe from the collector is 2" rather than 2.25" this allows them to make the silencer to the correct fit and weld a 2.25 or 2.5 exit pipe onto the collectoris this what everyone else did?
  6. Rob Being younger than you and down with the kids 421 is quicker than 4 into 1 Norman, yes i did see yours and very big it was too 😳 BUT my question is do i continue to put up with the current exhaust or bite the bullet, what advantages will the raceco give? I realise it's repackable and will probably be quieter (i think i'll fail a noise test now) but are these the only benefits?
  7. ta anyone got any info / experience of the raceco
  8. My old standard 4 2 1 exhaust is now rattling and getting noisier but is sort of OK. What are the benefits of a new raceco exhaust or should i get the existing exhaust sorted and repacked and if the latter whereabouts can this be done in the west country other than Millwoods
  9. Damn. perhaps i should put my car up for sale as it's about to cost me a packet 190 bhp 1.8K Series with Apollo and oil feeder LSD Full screen and Aero Immaculate and looked after Mechanical OP guage £5 😬
  10. *idea*alternatively you could drive the car to charge your battery this has a number of benefits 1) It'll make you smile, none of the other products do this unless you clamp the terminals to your face and power up 2) It'll keep your battery in tip top condition for about a £1 (although this is somewhat unrealistic as you will find that you keep driving 3) If you have to take out the car in the wet the resulting cleaning and polishing will keep you fit enough to reward yourself with a nice glass of Claret/Beer *thumbup* also away from er indoors *thumbup* P.S I use a Ctek for various vehicles at various times of the year and it's fab but then i would never buy Draper as its cheap tat for commoners 😬
  11. Rich If you're inspecting the foam any way you might as well change it as apparemtly they can become brittle after a long time and break up, blocking the oil feed pipe. Better to have piece of mind i suppose. How likely it is to break up i've no idea it could be a vicious rumour. Someone will be along in a minute to tell you to do away with it, spend £1600 and have a dry sump but i've caned my car for 15000 miles and done 4/5 trackdays, BUT changed oil often and it runs as sweet as a nut Touchwood. Also if the worst happened a new bottom end is cheaper than alot of other options. I'd only change it if the sump is off anyway
  12. Brent Thanks, that makes perfect sense now. I knew it was bits of metal just not whether it was normal. notice how you were the only responder? that's cos everyone else wanted to tell me my car was doomed
  13. My LSD has always been a bit noisy compared to other RWD cars i have had (apart from a 67 MGB roadster when i was a lad) and i am well aware that TADTS however earlier in the year i changed the diff oil and noticed that the old oil was silvery in colour. I don't think the previous owner had ever changed it as while a lovely chap, he was not exactly sympathetic to a cars wants and needs 😬 and actually the diff was fitted only a year prior to my purchase (so 3 years old now) I thought maybe a diff rebuild was worthwhile but as i hate tinkerin when i could be driving it would only be if necessary, what does the cognoscenti think. Oh and if anyone tells me my HG is about to go, the car is going to blow up, that i should take it off the road immediately or any other ridiculous scaremongering i'll thump em decent advice only please (Now watch as No one responds to the post which is the usual 😳)
  14. I though i'd put this back on the car if i ever sold it but now think this unlikely though another 993 may tempt me one day. AFAIK everything is there Head, fuel rail, cams, ECU2 (i think) except for the injectors. Came off my 97 1.8 k series supersport at 15000 miles and was upgraded originally by Kenrick motors at 10000 miles. I don't know what it's worth but have an idea what i'd like but make an offer and i may be tempted as it's clogging up my workshop Buyer collects as i can't be arsed to faff around with tape and foam! Also Standard rollbar painted silver Free to collector I am 11 miles south of Bath
  15. wild bill

i'm in Bath alot as live near but it weren't me
  16. Alex I am NOT heavy........how dare you insinuate that i am on the tubby side i am only 5' 9" and 11 stone I'll get it welded but am worried about setting fire to the seat! Angus thanks for advice
  17. Have a broken frame bottom left as you sit in car. Anybody had this and solutions?
  18. was the racing any good? Heard it but didn't see it ☹️
  19. Q 659 PFW yellow clamshell (I think) driving away from the circuit at about 4 pm I was the Light Blue and white 65 split screen vw microbus behind you (i was going to a wedding at Combe Manor so couldn't take the seven as had one of the kids with me)
  20. Brake cleaner works a treat (cleaner, NOT Fluid 😳)
  21. I am considering spare wheel removal but would like an answer to 1) What do i use in the case of a flat presumably just a tyre weld can, do they work? How many miles grace 2) Is it worth keeping the spare for touring abroad and putting on as replacement while flat get's repaired as tyre weld won't last long and getting CR500's in France might be tricky at short notice 3) If i keep the spare in thge garage what does BC suggest to cover the hole whilst still leaving it usable
  22. wild bill
