Nice to see Mr Warham's old car again. Lovely car, built with real care and attention
  2. As you were Ian, I think it's maybe just their newish (~2020) root company name, rather than their trading name as the website and everything is still all unchanged from Road and Race Transmissions.
  3. Talk to Phil at FST Engineering (formerly Road and Race Transmissions), though you'd have to ship it as he's darn sarf...
  4. Has anyone come across a supplier selling 'lockable' rear bonnet catches in silver/chrome that fit the original drilled holes? To date, I've only found aftermarket ones but of a slightly different size that would mean more holes in bonnet and side skin...
  5. C J Tallis in Hinckley - Clive used to paint 7s for Caterham Midlands and does a lot of work for people like MIRA just up the A5, XE Engineering, etc

  7. The chaps at the track day hire company (next to where I work) have a 420R road car that they need to get back on the road after a fire under the scuttle. Fuel pump tripped on last lap of day on track. This morning, on lifting the scuttle, it's all burnt out around the three immobilizer units. If you turn it out now, it starts again but it catches fire! Can it be removed and another one easily put in. It's a Sterling XL immobiliser.
  8. Always assumed they do them, but you live and learn...
  9. Yes please, if Dave Connors doesn't want them

  11. I believe the 16" HPC wheel centres are the same as the 15" Prisoner wheel centres too?
  12. Bright orange, R400--- reg plate Not hanging about and only 1 mile from Nick Potter's place 2pm, Tue 17 May 2022
  13. Having cooked three batteries previously on it, I now use a simple B&Q timer switch to just turn on my Optimate 4 once a day for an hour to topup/monitor the Caterham's powervamp odyssey battery as necessary.
  14. Morning chaps and chapesses, I have a 1996 HPC Caterham, with my C20XE engine pushing about 200bhp now, but aiming for nearer 250bhp soon. It currently has the standard 5-speed Ford Type-9 gearbox fitted. I have acquired another 5-speed Ford Type 9 gearbox, but this one is fitted with a Quaife straight-cut gearset. It’s being refurbed currently and will be installed on Easter weekend. What oil should I run it with (and what volume) for optimum performance - tempered with as much quietness - as I can get? Please advise, so I can get it bought and ready… I can't wait… Many thanks in anticipation
  15. Here's the steal of the century I've just found for you on eBay... for £150 or best offer. Go halves with a mate 2 Autocom units, plus 2 headsets and 2 microphones (just need to plumb them into off the shelf Peltor ear defenders). It also comes with 2 PMR radios included!! He looks like a dealer or at least someone who trades in these a lot, as he offers a stereo Bluetooth upgrade to the mono one fitted, for £12.50. He could probably even build you up two Peltor headets if you asked him NTDWM https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/234378682550
  16. The intention (currently) is that all super unleaded brands will remain maximum E5.

    Fog light

"4.5.3. Switching Front and rear fog lamp switches may be combined or independent switches. The switch or switches must: - be secure - be able to be operated from the normal driving position - operate the fog lamps as intended Rear fog lamps may be combined with the rear position lamps. Front and rear fog lamps are permitted to operate independently of any other lamps or ignition systems. The function of a fog lamp must not be adversely affected by the operation of any other lamp." Maybe the tester is flagging it re the last line above that I've stuck in bold and italics above, as you could argue that your setup does just that?
  18. D Jones - Adams and Page - www.adamsandpage.co.uk Blue 7 - Beware TR1 and T1R names. - The latter was superseded by the former - www.fastcar.co.uk/fast-car-news/toyo-proxes-tr1
  19. Are you sure that you have the Toyo tyre name correct, as I've never heard of that one? I have 16" Toyo Proxes R1R on my seven, which is a softer sticker version of the Toyo Proxes T1R. Sadly they are stopping production of the R1R... they may have even stopped by now. I had to get mine by driving to a motorsport specialist tyre garage in High Wycombe who had bought bulk volumes of the R1R's in different sizes as they knew they were being discontinued.
  20. Mine always remains with the two main straps left connected at the rear, for instant deployment. When taking it down, I walk backwards to tighten the square roof for neat rolling. I tuck the two sides in just past the natural bend either side. I then start rolling, keeping the square tight as I walk to the car, rolling as I go. Simply fasten into the little SBFS fabric sleeve and you're good to go...

  22. What about £2.50-ish on a motorcycle-type buzzer you can crimp onto your indicator wiring, eg www.ebay.co.uk/itm/123745823706 You can then regulate the noise to your preferred level using insulting tape to cover some of the speaker holes
