  1. Hey that's my car Dave. Maybe a few slivers of red gaffer tape might have randomly fallen (front and back!) when I was prepping the car on Friday morning. Okay, I'll come clean Dave. They didn't randomly fall in an amazingly geometric pattern, it was indeed me.
  2. C7 F- - Sunday 26 June 3pm Red with black stripe Top down Bull's Head car park Wolvey Warwickshire I'm at home on other side of road but can see you from the window
  3. Phew, found it... I thought I remembered finding and saving this Caterham carbon chassis casestudy into my Dropbox account many years ago. They talk of 60% weight saving and a cost 4 times that of steel, but I did only scan read it. They do also show the finished car at the end of the document too and say it was due to road test in September 2007. Enjoy here peeps...
  4. Dave, If you haven't also already got a Bluetooth module to add onto your Autocom, these don't come up very often. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Autocom-Bluetooth-Dongle-1273-/272262762868?hash=item3f64201174:g:VRsAAOSwzJ5XUWUY They're £75 new if you can find them anymore. Nothing to do with me, just saw it when looking on ebay for the covers you're after. I fitted the module to mine a year or two back and now the wired Autocom box takes car of driver to passenger comms (plus car to car comms via a PMR radio), while the iPhone on the Caterham dashboard can relay me my phone calls, music and satnav instructions... all via Bluetooth. Ignore the fact that a grommet is missing. It's a 3mm plastic cover that goes over thr top of the reset button which is recessed and so not accidentally pressable anyway.
  5. Red with white Caterham side stripes, Going down Church Hill in Wolvey, towards Hinckley direction 11am, Monday 4 April

  7. Proxy spot. My Shrewsbury friend saw you and, as he knows Caterhams from mine, he looked lovingly at yours and said "What a great car" to you in the car park. He noticed that you had silver toggle switches which he thought looked fantastic. Apparently you grunted something unintelligible and that was it for acknowledgement of his compliment...
  8. When I fitted my Quaife last June, I checked with Quaife and they said no extra lube necessary as below. I therefore bought the oil they recommended. FWIW, my new diff is absolutely whisper quiet and performs like a dream. Quaife Technical Support page says: "When running a Quaife ATB helical gear limited slip Differential in a standard transaxle gearbox, we recommend that you use whatever your vehicle’s manufacturer recommends. The Quaife ATB Differential does not require any special lubricants. When running Quaife gearbox internals and a Quaife ATB differential – we recommend FuchsTitan SYN5 75W90. For a Quaife ATB differential, running in a rear axle – use a hypoid 90 or 75W90, as above. For those applications that will accept a GL5 or SAE75W90 gear oil, we recommend and sell Silkolene SYN5 75W90 gear oil. We use Silkolene in all our own Quaife racing transmissions"
  9. Martyn, Some way down this page is a means of telling exactly what LSD you have fitted to your Caterham. I've just installed a Quaife ATB and used Fuchs Titan Race SYN 5 75W-90 Fully Synthetic Gear Oil (was Silkolene SYN 5 75w-90). Hope this helps.
  10. There's loads of aftermarket companies who buy them Rog, if you Google "we buy stair lifts" Write an email with the spec, bcc them all in and see who offers most money, quickest removal, or other criteria, etc
  11. Use it up in your steam iron in the hosue and treat yourself to a new bottle for the grudge. CarPlan De-Ionised water is just £1.15 from Tesco for 2.5litres.
  12. https://www.silverstoneauctions.com/1997-caterham-21-vhpd There are 12 beautiful pictures of your car linked to from the above auction site page which you may like to download to keep for posterity...
  13. Gosh, it's your car... /sites/default/files/images/users/3569/%24%28KGrHqFHJFYFEOwSFnloBREStclh%21%21~~60_57.jpg http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Caterham-21-Twenty-One-1998-99-UK-Market-Foldout-Brochure-1-6-1-8-Supersport-R-/181714384794?hash=item2a4f05779a:g:rIgAAOxyW1NREStd
  14. Take the K&N covers off and look into the carb trumpets to check that the venturi (17 on diagram linked below) of all 4 trumpets still make a capital M or W shape as you peer in. If they don't, check whether the locking nut (28 on diagram linked below) that holds the venturi in place on the side of the carb trumpet is still in place. They're normally wired on but not always as I found out to my cost at Cadwell when one fell out and one venturi twisted 90 degrees. Car exhibited similar symptoms to what you're describing, but sadly this 2 minute job was the last the last thing we tried after ages and ages of head scratching and testing leads, coils, etc. A two minute check . . . http://www.carburetion.com/diags/45DCOEDiaginfo.asp
  15. Did you ask them about whole headlight units or just bulbs? ... maybe it's just their wording
  16. ABD are a leader in aftermarket LED's, there's even a club discount I believe. http://www.autobulbsdirect.co.uk/bmw-5-series-touring-2009-2010-59 Looking at the above page (I guessed at a 2010 with 59 plate but you can change it in the URL), it looks like while they do normal lamps for this car, they don't do LED ones. They have a great support line if you want to check with them that they don't and ask them why they don't.
  17. I'm glad you're sorted Chris, and congratulations to Tom Arundel of our Bear 7s (Warwickshire North) parish for knowing what the problem was and how to fix it. If you're reading this Tom, get that BlatChat login issue sorted (Try a half turn on the two bolts on the keyboard) and come say Hello on this thread to prove it's working...
  18. Chris, One of the guys in my area meet approached me tonight and asked me to get in touch with you about this, as he can only read BlatChat and not reply because he can't login to the new site. He said that is very keen to get in touch as he has had exactly this issue in the past on the same engine and no post on this thread to date has pointed you at how he sorted it. I've just pinged you his email in a private message and so hopefully you can liaise with him that way and get yourself sorted with a bit of luck. Hope this helps... keep us posted. Cheers Giles
  19. Do you mean these are inertia reel ones and that you've swapped to 4 or 6 point quick-release harnesses instead or do you mean that these ones you're selling are 4-point and you've upgraded to 6-point?
