  1. I took some pics on Sunday so I'll get around to uploading them somewhere.. can I add I'm no expert..infact i'm rubbish at taking pics so I apologise now if you think they are rubbish and not worthy of your bandwidth!
  2. SL, My brother might be interested in this but he goes away this weekend for 2 weeks and it all depends if his current ride on can be fixed or not. In the meantime, should anyone else be interested please feel free to buy this mower and we'll take our chances on it being available if and when we are ready...
  3. Squadron Leader, can I have pics please on... gary.gt3@googlemail.com Ta!
  4. Jon Take up Marks offer of help (F355GTS)...if you were in the Midlands I could help get the engine out (mine comes out in under 3 hrs)..and then we would have three decent builders within 1.5hrs from here. As you are in the south, no point in making things more difficult and Mark has plenty of good experience with the Vx. Email me if you think I can help further.... Edited to add: I see garibaldi's chap is quite close to you although paying someone to do a simple job of taking the engine out may needlessly bump the bill up Edited by - captain chaos on 26 Aug 2009 09:33:47
  5. Mightknow someone who is looking for one...where are you?
  6. Having Aero'd only just recently (in the past 7 years it's all been behind a windscreen) I admire anyone who undertakes a long journey behind an Aeroscreen just using goggles as I also found it was like being beaten up... I have the RIF screen and I am looking to trim it down slightly to improve the visibility (i'm only little 😔...but light )...I also have half doors.. Great fun but too much for a trip to the Ring say..
  7. I would have said about under 500...closer to 400 IMHO...but we're not miles out... Shame and good luck..
  8. Grammer...get it 😬 Sorry, it's a Monday
  9. During my recent rebuild I bought a new carbon nose cone from a third party supplier. After trying to fit the new cone I noticed that my old nose cone was slightly different at the bottom and the new one covered the front lower wishbone bolts. This gave me a 25mm gap to fill as the Dzus fasteners just weren't long enough. Firstly, as badger states, it's not going to go anywhere as I ran it without bottom fixings but i did support it with some closed cell foam along the chassis overlap which runs verticall along the side of the radiator. Since then, at the bottom i've tigerseale'd some foam blocks onto the bottom chassis fixing tabs...added a small piece of velcro....(did the same for inside the bottom of the nose cone) and now it holds it nice and secure in position and simply peels off when I remove the cone after releasing the top fasteners. Just another idea.. Gary Edited to improve grammer! Edited by - captain chaos on 17 Aug 2009 12:27:52
  10. after 2 hours of trying everything i could think of....within 30 mins of posting on here thinking i'd tried everything...I found my crank sensor plug full of water...
  11. just to add...i've checked the coil, leads and no signs of moisture...
  12. Took her up to Anglesey for a track day last Sunday..car ran fine, wet but afternoon dried out. However, the heavens openend and she got very wet on the way home... (I can't believe that matters but I mention it anyway)...gto the car out today to give her a good clean and oil change and the car starts but will not rev. as soon as i apply a little throttle she begins to labour and hunt heavily and if I add I bit more a chorus of backfires ensues...I have washed the car but I cannot see where water may have got in to cause this sort of reaction... So i've put a new set of plugs in with no effect...something like this happened a while back and a new throttle pot cured the problem, henceI always have a spare to hand but still no luck. She will start and idle ok so I've let her run a for a while to get nice and warm but still the problem persists...my stack is showing the usual fuel pressure...and the ECU is under the dash and well protected from the elements... Any comments or advice would be appreciated...
  13. avon wets, pi$$ing down at a track day near you...

  19. I don't know the shocks in question but what about the rebound settings on the damper?
  20. I'm no guru but can't you measure the output of the alternator whilst running? i know you can check across the battery to see 14+ volts, but can you connect a multi-meter somewhere to check the output in amps in someway? Sorry, if this a numpty idea!
  21. Caterham ran out a couple of times last year, and they just supplied std 12.9 allen bolts...just get some bolts (as specced above by jason) and use some threadlock to secure them. Sorted
