  1. Inside, I bet 12 hrs would be fine, if outside 24hrs no problem..even at todays temperatures...however, if the layers are very thick (like when I used the stuff I put it all around my stay so the bar was encapsulated) I would be tempted to cure them inside to be sure. When i used the stuff earlier this year it seemed to go off within a couple of hours..
  2. If I am thinking correctly, your Alternator output will be about 50amps so I would use a 50/60 amp cable...this is to power your fuse box where I bet the max draw with everything on will be about 40/45amps. Hopefully, someone else will be along shortly to confirm....
  3. yep..the handbrake is integrated...blatmail me and I'll send a pic...
  4. Darren is spot on about how crap the handbrake is when using the AP big rears...I've swopped to the Hi-spec rears with handbrake facility. I was at the ring last week, giving my re-build it's first run out...I was a bit dissapointed with my brakes (slightly soft pedal after half a lap). The changes I'd made were new front pads as recommended by DaveK (Performance friction) and the hi spec rears. The fluid (Castrol super response) is the same stuff I've always used, run it in the GT3 aswell, with no problems. I'll be having a good look this weekend at the pads and giving them another bleed...
  5. Hi Allen, If you want to take over..please send me your address by blatmail..I'll get them off to you and you can send a cheque by return...if thats's oK Cheers Gary PS Dave: Thanks for returning them
  6. Hi Simon...YHM... sorry for the delay as I've been away on business. If I can have pics tonite then I can confirm purchase...
  7. my washer was connected up ok...fluid topped up...made the appropriate noises...but the impeller had broken...replaced the little motor and now squirts fine...so if all else fails try the motor...
  8. I'm interested in these....can I have a pic of the RH door please... Cheers Gary
  9. OK Dave, Send me your details on the blatmail or gary.gt3@googlemail.com Gary
  10. I've a set of Mintex 1144 pads for sale... Suit AP big fronts...they've been used for about 100 miles...basically nearly new.... £25 inc postage (within UK) Gary
  11. I got a blank one from Rif (obviously only if you want carbon) as I wanted to cut a slot for my sequential shift rather than have a std round hole.
  12. Thanks Nick, I might try another locksmith as well as contacting think Auto
  13. Anyone tried to get one of these? My local locksmith says that is an unusual shape and he would need to send it away and a call to Caterham reveals "Never had to do that before so we're not sure?" Any other ideas whilst I wait for CC to come back to me? Gary
  14. I got a small bracket made which utilised the strap which goes around the middle of the tank (I've got a couple of pics, not great, but might help). That bracket was then rivetted to the footwell. Rob Morris my AO was working for Jaguar at the time and he then made me a plate/block out of nylon, which was about an inch thick, and it had grooves cut into it for the chassis rails so it did not slip about. Others just put the tank on a plate and fixed it some way to those same rails.
  15. *eek* Julian, Having just completed mine I can almost understand how you feel...Shame I couldn't see into the future..I could have put my feet up for 9 months.. good luck.. Gary
  16. Thanks ric.. Charles, do you loosen stuff off then?
  17. Your right Gambo...I'm fast disappearing up my own ar$e Anyway, a quick call to Gary May has enlightenend me and I'm now on plan C!
  18. Yep, increasing the legs length means it carries a greater share of the load... If you do find that link It would be much appreciated .....
  19. That was lucky Adding height increases the weight on a corner . This is what confuses me about people who say "get the ride heights equal add rake and then add it a bit of ride height to the rear drivers side"..on my scales that just adds weight to the (already) heaviest corner
  20. Horizontal wishbones...using the rear part of the lower wishbone I take it?
  21. I've searched the archive in your absence Dave..I can't see anything...lots of discussion about ARB's and B&Q scales...but no link 😔
  22. Cheers dave, I worked out that when you increase at a corner it increases in the diagonal and the opposite happens across the axle line, but it seems impossible to add weight to one corner without adding it across the whole diagonal. Appreciate your help... Gary
  23. Ok, I've checked my floor and scales to be pretty level and I decide to follow some advice and go for a more equal diagonal set up rather than just worry about the fronts being equal. Last nite I spent hrs trying different adjustment combinations to equalise the drivers/right rear to left front diagonal. There is a 25kg difference (LF 140/RR165) Can anyone give tips on method and how to approach the job?
  24. Thanks Dave, To be fair to DaveK he did it all in an evening (camber, RH and then CW) to give me a starting point. I've not done this before so it's all new...but now I'm aiming at trying to get the diagonals closer I'll have another go It looks like I'm not far from AndyH... Gary
