  1. Malc I’d very much appreciate the loan. Manningpaul if Timings don’t work out between Malc and I then I’ll be in contact about borrowing yours. Thanks all.
  2. Much appreciated Malc. Are you far from Oxfordshire?
  3. Possibly. The last time I used specialist aluminium welders to do a job because it was deemed a “small job” they did when they had time between bigger jobs and so it took quite awhile. I was adding time so as to not mislead a lender of a sump had it taken awhile but quite possibly it could done in no time at all?
  4. Good afternoon. mine has a hairline crack in sump plug area. so need another whilst that one gets repaired. anyone got one wasting space on a shelf or a spare they could lend me for a few months whilst mine gets repaired? cheers. 1.8 K series wet sump.
  5. I have a carbon aero screen with mirrors attached. S3. £200 available for collection from East Malling, Kent. I don’t want to post given it’s shape and the way packages get handled by delivery firms.
  6. I'm taking my engine out in April. SPY motorsport quoted but subsequently took on so much work they can't do it anymore. PGM (came recommended) and have also quoted. Do blatchatters have any other garages/mechanics/blatchatters that could do the task that they would recommend? If an assembled group fancied teaching me with their equipment and experience for a donation to the clubs charity I'd be very keen to explore that? Rover K Series, 1.8, with Apollo, Jenvey throttle bodies, big air box, S3. seperate issue - how do you safely transport an engine to DVA? cheers all.
  7. Folks for a 1.8 K Series what's "normal"? 1=135 psi 2=140 3=105 4=135 car is T reg and along time ago had work done by DVA to upgrade to 180+ bhp. Suspected crack in No.3 piston/worn piston rings the cause of splutter/misfire/poor starting. Recently had head gasket go after serious oil loss from leaking Apollo. Can do simple Emerald ECU check because no laptop has a 9 pin connector anymore.
  8. Wish mine had gone smoothly! Tank out as leaking at lowest drivers side corner (ali deteriorating and pitting, patch welded), new-to-me pump replacing standard pump as suspecting the pump may have been the source of my K series 1.8 splutter and poor starting, didn't fit into the cradle so bodged it to fit, new fuel seal difficult to refit due to philips head bolts worn heads. Ran for 3 days before breaking down. So I need to take tank out and check fuel pump. I've read folk suggest upgrading the bolts to hex-head with integral washers. Does anyone know the specification of them? cheers.
  9. Your seven was looking very well planted, though I'm a bit envious of the comms headset you had on.

    Timing Struts

You are welcome to this one. Oxfordshire and free
  11. Folks these short hoses are approx £24 each from Caterham. Has anyone got equivalent hoses from a cheaper supplier without reducing quality.
  12. I have hoodsticks for S3 if you're still interested?
  13. My dads good friend (the Ex-Engineer) passed away recently, 50% of proceeds go to Parkinson's disease charity. Amongst many other things (ask if you are after something obscure and imperial) he has a vast stock of unused as well as used Tap's & Die's, £10 per item, Tap's are often in sets of 3. BSF, UNC & UNF , Witworth. Some metric items too. Any reasonable offers considered.
