    SVA Test

Download the Caterham build manual from the downloads section of the CC website - there is a really good IVA section at the back. (Big Col - mine had the same issue as yours ref the brakes, I too wondered about the PBC, but it passed once CC had changed discs and pads - and put double the mileage on the front set).
  2. Hi Martin, worked out it was you eventually!! Heading back from a 50th party in Essex. We took the 7 as we thought it was going to be a nice day :) Hey,ho.
  3. Bryan, when did you last call? Mine was sorted back in August, new design carrier and back plate. Bertie, its cars with the BMW diff, mines a late 2011 car.
  4. On A20 Sidcup by pass this mornign at 0715-0720 Orange with double white stripe and Green with yellow stripe (RX12LV?) Bit "damp" hope it drys out for you!
  5. *thumbup*What JV says, although with my build last year I initially had to remove the stop to get any engagement at all, then the POBC said I shouldnt use the car without the stop so I adjusted the threaded fork on the top of the pedal and started again with the stop in place - lots of trial (and some error!) got there in the end 😬
  6. Had mine done this morning at Dartford, took them two hours - the time promised - all good. Glad thats finally sorted!!
  7. So how was it / is it? Wondered what you thought of the bits / work? oh, and what was the outcome re the dents in the DeDion? - I have those too! Mines booked in for the 19th, it's been a long wait. Thanks, Garry
  8. Standard pressure is 18psi for 15" CR500's for road use. HTH
  9. Whatever CC use is not up to the job, my front number plate came off several times in the first 2000 miles and CC put it back on each time whilst doing other work. I got fed up with it falling off and used the 3M tape as recommended by SM25T. 6500 miles later still stuck on and rock solid. Also used it to fit my high level brake light under the roll bar - again rock soild, thoroughly recommended.
  10. Go on................ You know you want to ................ Glad it was the easy fix
  11. Hi Russ, I have an R300 spec duratec in my car and recently had a chance to do a back to back comparison with a K Series SLR of similar power output. They both go quickly but deliver the power in very different ways as you describe - acceleration and top end pretty similar, but feel very different. The SLR was very light on the throttle and felt nippier than mine which actually felt sluggish by comparison Obviously the R500 will have a lot more power but you will have to get to the top of the rev range to release it. I guess your reservation is about how it gets there? Suspect the sequential box on your K may be the best solution? Whatever you decide - enjoy it!!
  12. Hi Nigel The heater should be isolated if you have the control pushed all the way into the bulkhead. Have a look under the bonnet and check that the cable pushes the lever on the heater bypass all the way to offside of the car. The cable clamp sometimes works loose. Garry
  13. Hi Dougie, SWMBO spotted you yesterday afternoon at Teston Bridge. Lovely afternoon for it! 😬
  14. Excellent, enjoy 😬 😬
  15. Red with black wings, Upwood Rd Lee about 20.45. Lovely evening for a run out 😬
  16. Happy to confess to being somewhat less than a genius when it comes to car electrics, so thanks for pointing this out. I have exactly that kind of tester, which I guess has the potential to confuse me more than help!! Cheers Garry
  17. Hi Malcolm, That is my car 😬 Its a CBS 48 LED light (about £12 i think) spent £9 on the loom adaptor from CC, wired it in and stuck it under the roll bar with 3M double sided exterior "no more nails" tape - it doesnt move. Then taped the wire down the inside of the rear diagonal with ordinary electrical tape. Remember to sleeve the wires where they go through the boot floor. Still visible with the half hood on 😬 My best safety upgrade yet. Garry
  18. Its definitely worth checking the insurance position in advance - although that shouldnt stop you going for the bigger engine . I have the 175 Duratec and Flux gave me the best deal for my experience (1 Year 4k miles at the time). REIS wanted £1200 because of my lack of experience. I agree with greenayne - try again and then decide - go with your instincts
  19. Paul, Just reading through this thread, I seem to recall being told only to use DOT4 fluid and not DOT5 when I put my car together last year - this is certainly what CC supply in the first fill packs, no idea if that has an impact on your issue but thought it might be worth mentioning?

    Brake Balance

Big Col, I feel your pain!! Mine failed first time on exactly the same thing last year. I had paid CC to present the car so they sorted it out. Basically they changed the rear calipers and pads and left the fronts alone, which when represented had done twice the mileage of the rears and were better bedded in. Passed second time. Does make you wonder what the ratio of first time passes to failures is though, especially as all the factory cars go through the same process. Best of luck for round two!! Garry
  21. What Pugash says - plus the hazard switch 😬 CC told me its to do with needing to be able to tell when they are on!! Nothing about being able to find them in the dark
  22. I saw you too - on Friday about 15.45 joining the M1 South from Chesterfield way (I'm not local so forgive the generalisation).
  23. Do NOT under any circumstances buy the ones from CC Parts - they are made of chocolate or similar!! How do I know....................................bought a set, fitted and torqued up correctly, then tried to get them off to clean the wheels and the locking key ripped the bolt head keyed bit right off. Had to get CC to remove them, they damaged a wheel in the process and very kindly replaced it with a new one FOC. So, ended well but could have done without it.
