  1. Hi Jonathan, Couldi I go for two bags please, one of each to go with the two tubes I requested in October. Many thanks Garry

    SV Dimensions

What are you suggesting Martin? Positive advantage if you are mostly 2 up. Excellent for towing too Just needs a bigger engine!!
  3. Hi Jonathan, Sorry, only just spotted this, could I have 2 please. Thanks Garry
  4. Simon, you may find you have 2 earth cables, one to n/s/f engine mount and one to bulkhead near the heater / battery - can't remember how yours is laid out. Garry
  5. Same as the ones in my car Piers - welcome to try them out next time we're out :-))

Chris, Remember to look carefully at the poppers that hold the side straps, they operate in the reverse sense - pull down to undo, not up - this ensures you can tighten the straps without them popping off. I fitted one of mine incorrectly and had to bodge it until Nick kindly gave me a replacememt.

GN12---, you followed us from Springfield to Aylesford slip (blue 3series), we waved as you turned off Garry Edited by - Garry7 on 5 Sep 2014 22:10:39
  8. Some people have no idea what they are missing - unlikely to ever happen again! At least we can enjoy it!!
  9. Hi mate, clocked the sticker as I followed you onto the roundabout! Just on my way back from Biggin, got buzzed by the 2 Lancasters and fighter escort as I was coming out of the valley - pure magic, about 300 feet above on their approach for a run and break 😬 😬 😬, incredible sound of 11 Merlins in close formation! Was still on a high when I saw you.
  10. Hopefully everyone that asked for a copy now has it (if not, let me know). Gave mine a proper test on Saturday, including a "spirited" run with a Bentley and a 911, at last, the needle stayed steady throughout, even a higher speed. Hoping this is the fix to a problem that's been annoying me for ages and spoiling the enjoyment of the car.
  11. Suspect a pesky "aeroplane" has dropped some kerosene (similar to diesel 😬), on the runway. Suggest you drive around for a bit at lower speed and then find a different part of the airfield to get up to speed again - having checked the tyre pressures.
  12. I cheated and made CC fix it 😬 It's subject of a workshop update (CC for a recall if pushed!) so I asked them to do it. James did e mail me the update notice, if you BM me an email address I'll send it to you. Garry
  13. Update: Having had the new sensor on for couple of weeks the speedo started to fluctuate wildly again with occasional drops to zero - failed to record mileage during the fluctuating phase. It went into CC for the mod (as described by Andrew above) this morning - so far the signs are good - rock steady needle that is with 3-5 mph of the satnav. Will report back when it's got a few more miles under its belt.
  14. Welcome Ned, I'd guess loads if you have an 8 month wait!! I thought 6 was way too long for my car a couple of years ago. At least you have lots of time to customise your man cave to keep your mind off of not having the car 😶‍🌫️
  15. Hi Grant, Sorry, yes he's the service mgr at Dartford. Garry
  16. Hi Grant, It's a known fault, CC have issued a workshop update for it. Recommend you call James in aftersales dept at CC. [: it's happened on my car and was driving me mad - didn't need it on the trip to the Classic and back.
  17. Memory is clearing now that's why the Duratec first fill pack comes with 2x 5ltrs of oil. CC wouldn't do that if you only needed 4.5! If only they'd thought of that and queried their own book I'm glad you checked when it didn't look right
  18. Mines a standard 175 2012 vintage, it takes nearer 6-6.5 litres. I confirmed with CC when I built the car that the handbook is wrong at 4.5. Garry
  19. Andrew, Steve and one other, heading towards Lenham from Charing around 10.30 Then L7FST on a single track road just outside Westwell, good to stop and chat. Took my 7 to help me with Duke of Edinburghs award assessing. Edited by - Garry7 on 15 Jun 2014 20:54:01
  20. Hi Piers, had originally planned to go, then discovered it clashed with some Duke of Edinburghs award training that I had contracted to provide 😳 Looks like I missed a great day.
  21. Will do matey. She must be getting the hang of our cars, she said she heard it and knew it was a 7!! 😬
  22. Hi Steve, Denise and her cycling buddies saw you near Staplehurst, gave you a Must have been after your Muesli 😬

    Gearbox Alignment

I used a large pry bar to get mine into the right position. Any contact will = noise and will make a hole in the heat reflective covering. When you have it in place tighten the gearbox mounting first the redo the engine mounts, then check it is all still in the right place. Its worth the effort 😶‍🌫️
  24. If that's all you've got from delivery / build you have done remarkably well. I ended up with a fair few more than that. I'm with the rest on here, don't worry, you will soon collect more and your windscreen (if you have one) very soon will adopt that just sandblasted look. Get the touch in done on the bits that bother you most - very few others will notice 😬

    Sigma Speedo

Have you tried varying the gap between the sensor and the toothed wheel on the driveshaft. I replaced mine recently, set the gap to 1 mm and nothing. Progressively moved it out wards and bingo, works fine now.
