  1. Followed you for a short while in a white X1 until you turned onto 7 mile lane for a quick blat into the traffic queue for the pointless temporary traffic lights.
  2. I had the same issue with my 2012 build and fed it back to CC with the front hose / washer issue too. Sadly they decided they know best and have left the manual as it was
  3. Ken, Cant remember what tyres you have, but this is not right, take it back to CC whilst you are under warranty and get then to set it up properly for you. Best Garry
  4. Still under warranty? Get CC to fix it before you spend good money on DIY.

    IVA woes

Hi Marcus, Thats not great - how about asking CC? They deal with them all of the time. Good luck, Garry
  6. Hi Martin, that was a much needed lunch stop. My second 35 mile ride in a few weeks - starting to get the hang of it. Sorry you had to see me in my lycra!

    15" Wheels

Alan, If you are coming tonight, bring a jack - we can try my wheels on your car if that helps? Best Garry
  8. for taking it off all together. I was sceptical at first but much happier with the car since removal.

    PMR radio

Not this one Ian - it was very very special and no amount of attention could get it to work.

    Speedo

How the speedo works depends upon the age and configuration of the car. How old is your car? I have lots of experience (not all good) of the rear wheel driven electrical sensor version fitted to the newer cars - mines 2011.
  11. Mine went through IVA (not SVA) in June 2012 like that, although cant speak for any changes that may have taken place since then (or "local variations").
  12. Mine have been fitted with those for 4 years with no issues. Big heads bonded to the wings with two tie wraps through each. Go for it! Garry

    Boot floor

As Ian says, it should only be lightly glued on, if at all. Good opportunity to re proof the plywood sheet too (if you have one). Should be able to access the diff from underneath? or do the selfie thing with your phone/camera and then post the picture on here.
  14. Hey Chris, Glad you have been back out in C7CAT - can you send me a pic of the new scheme? Cheers Garry
  15. Cheers, it was really beginning to get me annoyed looking forward to getting out now.
  16. Finally had some time to get back to this today. Thanks to JV I finally figured out the light trick, two attempts at adjustment and it seems to be working correctly for both speed and mileage, fingers crossed it lasts a while.
  17. I didn't drill mine at all, just a bit of judicious bending of the angled part that tucks under the scuttle. When you fit them, think about a bit of anti seize along the edge that tucks behind the rubber. They are a real swine to get off when changing the screen!
  18. Hi JV, Tried swapping the fuse first when it failed on the tour. CC did the mod, bodged it as described above, love the professionals. Thanks for describing the light trick, will do that next, always wondered what flashed where :-). Wiil adjust as you suggest, thanks.
  19. Hi Jonathan, it has worked properly between failures, yes. When they fail the instrument fuse blows and the car stops dead. Roadside cure is to disconnect the sensor, replace the fuse and carry on! Not temperature related at all. Will make some adjustments next time it's dry. Sensor should flicker but I've no idea how you are supposed to see it.
  20. Finally got around to sorting this today. First had to redo the mod that CC had done, they had wedged the twisted cable ends into the connector pin and stuck with sealant, proper job? All came out when we had to disconnect it when car stopped on the Italian tour due to failed rear wheel sensor. Soldered the cable in then refitted connector and adjusted sender to same gap as the previous one. Test drive gives a flickering needle up to 55-60 then settles to rock steady as speed increases. Mileage recording is way out too, recorded about 12 miles on approx 25 mile drive. So, have I messed the earthing up or is the adjustment still not right? All ideas gratefully received, this is driving me nuts, 5th sender in 4 years! Thanks, Garry
  21. As JV says, easier if there are two of you.
  22. Al, the rubber thing is on mine (on the plastic plenum) so guess it's meant to be there. Garry
  23. Welcome to Blatchat, There will be loads of advice for you, some will depend on the particular questions you ask as you go along. Whilst you are waiting it's a good idea to download the build manual from the CC website and go through that several times to familiarise yourself with the layout and order of things. The other big thing is man cave preparation, perfect excuse to sort out the garage and buy those tools you always wanted ( the build manual will give you a good idea of the minimum requirement). The waiting will drive you mad! Plan all this stuff over 6 months to keep you occupied :-))
  24. Once you have the correct one, sticky back Velcro is you friend - along the edge that meets the bulkhead. The part that slides under the dash panel needs a bit of sticky back foam on it to stop the rattles. The knee panels should screw in, not rivet! Need to be able to get them off to change the screen.
