  2. I had this fitted to a 2l diesel Fiat motorhome (2004 Ducato) with an 84PS output JTD engine. www.tdi-tuning.co.uk/car_and_van_diesel_tuning_boxes/fiat/ducato/20_jtd_83_bhp__84_ps__62_kw/fiat_ducato_20_jtd_83_bhp_84_ps_62_kw_crtd2_diesel_tuning_box_chip_P1662.html It is mapped for that engine but can be reprogrammed for most common rail diesel engines to give them a bit of extra output. I think they charge £25-£50 to reprogram the box I am not entirely sure how it modifies things technically but I suspect it adjusts the fuel rail pressure. It certainly gave the van a bit of extra hill pulling ability. Details of the unit can be found at www.tdi-tuning.co.uk You will need to inform your insurer that it is fitted blah blah The kit is in good condition and was working when I removed it from the van. This unit is preset to program 16 and has the additional jumper pins to reprogram it. Original cost was circa £300 a few years ago. Given it has been sat in my lounge cupboard for three years, I can not verify internal condition other than it was working fine and has been kept clean and dry and would probably need reprogramming for the new owner - £75 + postage. I can email pictures of the kit to anyone interested. Ian
  3. Emails are still causing difficulty. Yes still interested please and will send address details BM as soon as it is working properly again. Last one I sent at 13:18 may or may not get to you. Ian
  4. Heading into Bath centre at lunch time today. Spotted by me on my bike.
  5. Purchased earlier in the year from a member and not fitted due to passenger objections (wife and son) so I am out voted. Very good condition with three new chrome mirrors. Ideal for a car with clams fitted for the classic look. Looking to recover cost of £260 - collection required from Bath area This one fits across the wiper spigots for a tidy finish. I have not tried, but it has been noted that it could be reversed to sit behind the spigots. I can send pictures to anyone interested in this item. Ian

    Petrol !

I know a private hire taxi chap who I have used for years and he has run the same Citroen with same engine for circa 600k miles before major failure, regularly serviced, probably over serviced. Absolutely convinced he gets better mpg out of the higher rated diesel fuel, mainly motorway runs of significant distance daily. He is a sensible sort of guy and does enough millage in a year to know the difference in my view, after all it is his pocket that is directly affected. As for cleaning, it is hard to know if the regular servicing or the fuel is the cleaning method but circa 600k out of a 2l diesel is pretty good going. Bottom end failure killed it in the end. I tend to use the 97/98 stuff based on the taxi guys knowledge. I do so little millage it does not make a lot of odds in terms of cost. If I get a benefit thats great, if not well the marketing guys win. Can't honestly say I feel a difference in any vehicle when I have put put in 95 or 97 and that applies to all the different types. I did spot some 99/100 rated fuels in Germany. The guy in the garage made me laugh as he said it was only for Ferraris and Porsches, probably an element of truth in their somewhere in that I suspect he meant high performance engines. As for aged petrol, lawn mowers seem to run on really old bad smelling stuff perfectly well. I had some really vintage year old juice I put in. It had that old smell and I am not even sure it was not 2x as it had been in my dads shed since I could remember. Sealed container. So whilst I know it goes off a lot has to do with what engine you need to put it in.

    F8* FRG

Coming out of Silverstone followed by a black one with pink roll bar.
  8. The stud positions may vary slightly. They fitted on my first seven but on the current one I have the bottom stud is in a different location - all the others spot on. Both cars built by Caterham. That said it would not be difficult to fit another stud to the door if they are out of position. Best wishes Ian
  9. Firstly an explanation to this lot. I love motorcycles but have lost my mojo with riding them and decided to hang up the riding gear. The Caterham gets more of a look in these days. So, after a lot of soul searching I have reluctantly decided to sell the bikes I have spent many hours rebuilding. It is time to move on. Happy to send photos to anyone who may be interested in any of these. They are enthusiasts machines and like Caterhams they need to be used and appreciated to keep them in good order. GSX 1100 G – 1993 Black This is a fully restored GSX in black. A full on muscle bike from the early nineties. I rebuilt this several years ago with all new bearings, powder coating of all the metal work, new 4-1 exhaust, wheels powder coated. The engine was not touched as it ran very well in any case. I bought the bike in a bit of state from a fried in Holland who had it for many years. I last used this bike a couple of years ago for a trip to France and it performed very well. Currently SORN but I would be happy to have it Mot’d if required. A new battery will be required. It is almost as good as it was new, not quite concourse but certainly a good A grade. £2250 Honda 250 XLR – 1985 ish Black/red This was an imported bike that I have all but finished. Full re- powder coated and mechanically sound. The only thing remaining is a couple of rear indicator mounts and a battery. It was originally imported so has kmph speedo. The engine is a peach. New chain and sprockets, new tyres. It would make a great little green lane machine and indeed has been in the past. I need to get the seat back from the upholsterer. The plastics are a bit scratched up so it is not a minter but certainly a very good machine now in very good order. Currently SORN. £1150 Moto Guzzi 1100 Sport – 1996 Black This one was rescued from a shed in boxes. It is a really lovely Italian monster. I have not ridden it as frankly it frightens the life out of me at tick over. The previous owner, another friend, had it for most of its life but was unable to find the time to rebuild it after a gearbox failure. The engine and gearbox have been rebuilt, frame powder coated etc. Forks re-chromed and rebuilt, wheels powder coated. Two good tyres, new but aged. New clutch amongst many many other new parts. This bike is not quite finished. To finish it requires a battery, rear brake pads and new steering damper. It is not concourse but certainly a good A grade. Currently SORN. £4950 BM me if you are interested. Ian
  10. Hello Simon I might be able to help. I have two good ones. £140 for the pair + post, I think they are these http://caterhamparts.co.uk/product.php?id_product=172 There is a small hole in the fore most end of each where they used to have a small self tapping screw put through to hold them on the scuttle. I never used them but apparently they are prone to lifting at high speed without the sel tapper. They are in Bath area if you are interested. Best wishes Ian
