  1. Just curious, but as you've deleted your cat, will you have to refit it for MOT's and will the car need a suitable retune for the MOT, and then another when you get back from the testing station and take it off again? Looks nice and well polished btw.
  2. Ouch! Just found out ACB10's are just shy of £180 each delivered... Could have saved myself a whole mornings humming and hawing! Back to ZZR's then...
  3. Oh you and your googling fingers, JK! Thanks. So it doesn't include the lip - that's all clear now. I've had the Avon site this up morning but am struggling with the best front size - their stated equivalent of 195/50 R13's (7.0/21-13) or their 185/50/R13 (6.0/21-13), because the latter, whilst stated as being closest to my current have a tread width of only 150mm (I have 175mm currently). I'm in the smaller is better camp with the car, but don't want to under-tyre it and have it understeering.
  4. Hi, Just working out which ACB10's to fit to my Fireblade and Avon asked me what my wheel widths were. The original invoice says KN Minator 6" all round, but I'm measuring them edge to edge and they're all definitely 7". Am I doing it all wrong? How is wheel width measured? Thanks. I have 185/60 13 A048's front, 205/6013 rear and am trying to get the equivalent ACB10's... I'm guessing 7.0/21-13 and 7.0/22-13.If anyone has ACB10's could they tell me what they've got. Thanks again.
  5. Having just installed a clear aeroscreen (replacing a black fibreglass one) I'm wondering if there are better wing mirror install locations than drilling into the corners of the new screen (like the old one)? The car's never had a full screen or doors, so the triangular screen brackets aren't there, but I'm wondering if it's possible to mount a longer stalked (to look over the rear mudguards) mirror on the bodywork? Where, and which mirror? Oh, and are no side mirrors an MOT fail? Thanks.
  6. Good question. I'd like to know too. Noticed only yesterday my crotch strap is being abraded by the hole edges.
  7. I've got the Nova reverser on my JW Fireblade but am thinking of removing it in my quest for a purer driving experience. Just curious about other peoples experiences, but why the Elite unit? What do you have at the moment?
  8. If anyone puts any videos of the event on youtube, could they tell us? It would be nice to see.
  9. Thanks for organising this Merrick and club. Really good evening!
  10. Anyone care to offer an opinion on whether an evening track day gives enough time to share the driving? How much track time can I expect? All 40 cars won't all be on at the same time will they? Thx.
  11. Ah, yes, 205/60 13's are what I'm after, but thanks Budjuggler. And thanks everyone else. I think I'll go for Medium, all round then. Edited by - AdC on 21 May 2014 16:30:29
  12. New to all this. Fireblade bec, 95% road use. Question is 'Soft' or 'Medium' compound? Or maybe 'a n other' tyre completely? Thanks.
  13. Me! I always look out for a Caterham when in Selsey knowing there's one around - sorry I didn't see you. I notice they've re-tarmac'd the A27 roundabout at the top of the Selsey road... It's great!
  14. Looking forward to my first track day. All thanks to a recommendation at yesterdays Partridge Green Open Day (didn't catch your name). Thanks!
  15. I thought "that bobble hat - he's GOT to be a Sevener" 😬
  16. I drove that road (matte black, heading towards Winchester approx 8:30). Were you in a California? I only managed a nod back. Didn't see the puddles
  17. I changed to Goodyear Efficient Grip 15,000 miles ago on the front of a Golf TDi. The average fuel consumption hasn't changed appreciably (I monitor it closely and if it has improved by 1mpg it's possibly down to a loosening engine at 60,000 miles as much as tyres). However, on 2 occasions I've had the sidewalls punctured by potholes which has only happened once before in my driving history. That would negate any improvement in fuel efficiency! Driving-wise, I can never tell the difference with tyres anyway... it's a tintop.
  18. Well I like the narrow look, as do all my friends on www.pipesmoking.co.uk... Edited by - AdC on 29 Oct 2013 12:25:28

    Aeroscreen

Sorry for the thread hijack too OP, but does anyone know if Meteor's clear aero would be a simple straight swap with my black S3 aero or is any fettling required? Have put in a call to Meteor but no answer yet.
  20. Quoting AdC: Quoting Jonathan Kay: ... just toggled that setting "Off" then "On" and I still don't see them. Does anyone have this problem with seeing sigs? Jonathan Just tried the same, and no sigs from anyone (chrome browser, Windows pc)

  22. Thanks Jonathan, all plausible reasons. I'll carry on with the (1) make best approximate adjustment out of the car, (2) sit down, connect, (3) breathe in, tug the strap downwards a little as best I can, rather than try a new harness.
  23. I'm trying to visualise all the options... - if you go for the 'pull the strap upwards to tighten', am I right to assume tightening is easy (you're pulling upwards into the free space above your crotch), but loosening is difficult because the adjuster is down by the holes in the seat? I bought a 'pull down towards the seat to tighten' Titon harness and am also wondering if the other way would have been better...
  24. Hi Pete - your car looks great - lots of really nice touches. I've already got one so sadly am not in the market, but I hope it goes quickly. If you wouldn't mind commenting, I'd be interested to know how you've got on with your Avons. JW suggested they'd give me the dainty feel I'm after, but a Formula Ford racer at work warned against them due to their wet weather ability... Thanks.
  25. Edit - Ah, sorry, thought they were a pair... Edited by - AdC on 26 Apr 2013 21:52:45
