  1. I've got one of the cylindrical motorcycle holders mounted on the cage. It can be revolved to reveal parts of the disc not immediately visible. No problems so far... Edited by - AdC on 31 Dec 2012 08:39:57
  2. Quoting Mort: 3) If we were all required to use our real names on the forum, or if our real names were automatically listed in addition to the forum ID, then everyone would know who was who... That would end the forum and the club for me. Why on earth would I want my name plastered across the net?
  3. Thanks Fishy Dave. Watching with interest.
  4. "Custom made wing stays" sound expensive, Fishy Dave. How much were your recently purchased "race wing stays", where from etc.? It could have a bearing on whether it's a thumbs up or down from me. I appreciate your investigations, though!
  5. Ready for my limited edition "1of 6" dashboard plaque, Rich. The holes are drilled and everything!
  6. Thanks Grubbster - very useful.
  7. There was a lovely looking titanium grill waiting for me at home this morning. Thanks Richard!
  8. I'd be interested too, Fishy Dave. My side repeaters are in my headlamps, though, so I wouldn't want them pre-drilled or specially formed to accept an indicator that won't be fitted.
  9. Oh go on then. It's the "Ti" word - that and "Carbon" are like Catnip... Will PM you tomorrow.
  10. Thanks Myles, I'm just trying to work out if it's worth going for carbon front wings to replace the cracked fibreglass ones on my car ("it's so light you can just push the car round the garage - let me demonstrate... Crunch!")
  11. Do carbon fibre wings suffer from star crazing, or is it just fibreglass? Anyone know?
  12. Is it only fibreglass wings that suffer, or are CF ones similarly afflicted by star crazing? Oh, and Vicfibretech have also been recommended on BC before. Edited by - AdC on 3 Oct 2012 02:13:35

    - Caterham BEC

Here for those with tired fingers.
  14. It's matte black but the concrete dust covering does give it a grey sheen 😬. It's not too bad in town, except for bumpy tarmac or rail crossings - they require leg muscles of steel to lock your accelerator foot into position if you're not to amuse passers by with a bunny hopping spectacular.
  15. I just bought some of these. They come with a virtually invisible seal for the carbon / lens interface which isn't pictured. I like them and it goes without saying the handling is transformed... Edited by - AdC on 24 Aug 2012 13:02:54

  17. I'd be interested in the rear blocks too, if the previous poster doesn't want them. Edited by - AdC on 29 Jul 2012 19:34:43
  18. Quoting johnv: AdC .. did you buy them? No, sadly. Would indeed have been a good idea to 'group deliver'.
  19. The black and CF front guards have gone... :-(

    Fuel pipe split

It is indeed 8mm (thanks Stationary M25 Traveller). Turned out to be pretty straightforward - removed boot floor and the section of the tunnel around the gear lever giving enough access, but it's a bit of a lash up with cable ties at the mo' as the original clips are rivetted. Thanks all.

    Fuel pipe split

sorry Eugene - it's a rubber pipe, looks to be about 10mm dia. Maybe it joins to a copper pipe some way up the tunnel - going back to see it on Wed with my axle stands so will know then.

    Fuel pipe split

Got a split in the fuel line of my Fireblade (the long one from the pump that does a 180 and disappears up the centre tunnel). Question is this - Is it a standard pipe that any motor factor sells and all that's required is for me to cut it to length and fix it in place of the buggered one, or is there more to it, like a special Caterham only diameter, or one which needs to be bought pre-cut and with special one-use-only fixings? I'm chasing James Whiting for the same info but any advice in the meantime is appreciated. Thanks btw - thanks to the chap at Dunsfold who lent me their posh trolley jack and also to 'Steve' (iirc - his Seven's the one lined in exquisite green carpet) for the useful assistance. For me, the day lasted exactly one un-timed 0-60 run - have to laugh though - went away thinking "£60? I do that away from the lights most days for free".
  24. Just to close the thread if someone searches for the topic in the future, James Whiting had a look at it and explained that it was, as a few of you have suggested, simply a characteristic of the dog box and that I need to adapt my driving style to cope, essentially caning it more of the time 😬 Thanks all for the help again Edited by - AdC on 16 Apr 2012 11:50:58
