  1. I use Forscan for my Transit. Both the desktop and “lite” app versions. The app only has basic functions but is exactly what you need for code reading and diag work. The desktop version has all the bells and whistles (get the extended license by resgistering) and does various coding and changes of options. Great tool when accompanied with a decent reader (I use the OBD Link MX+). I would suggest having a read of the Forscan forum for any pointers of the specific item you want to change as it may not be in the section of the BCM/PCM you think.
  2. Thanks Jonathan. I thought it would be ok but had to check. I think I have the assembly guides from when my father bought the car. But if you can send them via PM that would be handy. Cheers.
  3. Just a quick thought as I start to mentally plan the replacement of all the carbon parts and wings on my CSR. Whats the maximum time to leave the car on a set of axle stands with the wheels off? Only reason I ask is that I’ve never done it and don’t want to cause any issues with suspension related parts.
  4. Very nice to see a good result. Nice tidy work by the guys.
  5. If you consistently get black on the cloth when polishing them you have to be careful that its not actually the carbon itself breaking away. My existing wings have the same large patches where (what I assume are) reinforcing areas are on the top "flat" sections.
  6. Based on the advice here about the Spraymax 2k clear, I took the plunge and bought all new carbon bits for my CSR. It is 17years old and on the original carbon which is, well, beyond saving to say the least. I keep them tidy with the Woodsilk etc to give them some gloss but it only lasts a couple of drives then they are back to faded and old looking. The new parts have no clearcoat on at all and are just finished in the resin from manufacture. I sanded them all down and applied th Spraymax. Then did a few passes with various grits of sandpaper and then a few passes with three polishing compounds. The way they came up compared to the "factory finish" was well worth the trouble. The Spraymax 2k is definitely my vote if the carbon you have is able to be saved.
  7. Saw your Yellow and bare ally car there this morning at the breakfast meet. I was there in mine parked a couple of rows up.
  8. Not sure if it helps but my lambda sensor on my CSR is a Bosch 0258003229. Black four pin connector. CC don't strike me as the type of company to have a different part for a specific model. When I looked on their parts site it only listed two versions.
  9. I wonder if someone has developed a sort of aeroscreen attachment that could button to the top of the windscreen to aid the air travel further backwards. Kind of like the mercedes soft tops have that spoiler that raises above the windscreen to control the airflow.
  10. I thought that when fitting my new ones. One side will have the bolt head toward the rear of the car, the other will have the bolt head towards the front of the car. The orientation of the spacers/washers is the same on each bolt as per the picture. Just the direction will change.
  11. From the photos Ive got of the old one and the new one from TL that looks right.
  12. Same here. I suppose they get within the ballpark with asking the mileage at uts last service, but that could still be a couple of thousand or more behind what it actually is.
  13. Just a heads up. Received an email from CC regarding a second questionnaire asking for more detail on my car after initially filling out the website form.
  14. Well, I had the afternoon free from work so drove my clevis' down to Dartford and dropped them off. Hopefully they may be of some use even though they show no signs of fatigue to my eye. Typically though, CC Dartford factory is JUST within the ULEZ zone
  15. Thanks Gareth H & Blue7 for the DMs. I've sent an email just as a heads up saying there may be people like myself who have changed them premptively.
  16. Has anyone got a contact email for someone at CC who is aware of the issue? I completed the online form but would like to inform them that although I answered that they are fine, I have actually changed them premptively to avoid any such failure.
  17. What grade of oil are you using? And whats recommended?
  18. This thread might be worth a read:- /forum/techtalk/temperature-drops-when-revved-sigma-supersport-140
  19. Just drove past me after I pulled out of Tesco by Thames Drive.
  20. Finally got the time to take the CSR out after changing the rear clevis's after seeing the increasing failure rate of them. I noticed while the car was idling on the driveway that the coolant temp was approaching 110c but the fan hadn't cut in. Does anyone know where the fan switch location is? I've got two sensors on the main coolant rail drivers side but dont want to unplug things unnecessarily. Cheers.
  21. Kit car direct have some silver switches under the "Caterham" section. Can't remember seeing a specific heater one though. May be worth a look.
  22. My niece was behind you this afternoon/evening and messaged me saying how nice it was to see a white 7.
  23. ECR, luckily I dont have the hooks on my CSR for some reason, I just took the silencer,cat/collector off and managed to pry apart each primary enough to slide the sleeve on. But i would imagine it could slide over the hooks if compressed enough. Its like a big chinese finger trap.
  24. Just throwing my two peneth worth in. As I wrapped my primaries on my CSR at the beginning of the year with DEI Exhaust sleeve (https://www.designengineering.com/exhaust-sleeve-locking-ties-kit/) A lot easier than wrap and managed to do it without taking the primaries off. Its certainly helped keep my feet cooler this year.
  25. It is most definitely a terrible design, I don't think it would've taken much more time to design it a bit beefier. Even just by elongating the "hoops" and putting a longer bolt through the bottom of the shock to allow it to withstand more force and counteract the potential heavy handed mechanic when he overtightens it. Luckily I have changed mine out of precaution and the ones that came off don't seem to be fractured, but who knows if its microscopic already and I can't see it.
