  1. Cheers Sam. I’ll definitely give it a go. I was lucky with the other bolts on the rear end so maybe, as you say, soak with plus gas and give it a whirl. Cheers for all the help.
  2. 😆 It's suddenly something I think I should've done over winter, but I was preoccupied with replacing the "fancy bits (carbon)". Maybe I'll get PGM to do it when it goes for its service this year. Just incase I have to replace the bolts too, what are the specs for those lower ones? 😁
  3. Cheers gents. I'll get in contact with Redline and see if they have them. For Mcgills I would need to know the details (bore size, thread size/pitch etc) which after scouring the various manuals I have, they aren't listed. EDIT: SamC, superb!! Thanks. I'll get them ordered. I take it fitting is a simple as jacking the car up, removing the wheel and unbolting the pushrod?
  4. Evening all, Looking at the front suspension on my 2005 CSR it seems there is some corrosion creeping into the spherical joints on the pushrod. Looking at CC parts website they list a couple for “pushrod” but I’m unsure which one(s) I need (CC’s need to improve there description of the parts 🙄). Can someone point me in the right direction and also possibly name a different supplier? As CC are currently doing there relocation. Thanks in advance, Peter
  5. As Ray has already said it should be fine. The only water I know of thats of concern is the water that comes out the condense pipe of the boiler as its corrosive.
  6. Had a short day at work so had the tyres stripped and disposed of.
  7. Evening all, In the coming weeks I will be putting on a new set of wheels and tyres on my CSR. Just wondering if anyone has use of two CR500s? Manufacturer date is 2019 and they have 4-5mm tread left on them. They have got the lettering painted white, but I’m sure it can be removed easily. Rears will be disposed of as one has the obligatory cracking (found at the cars last MOT in October) and I don’t trust the other, hence the switch to a new set of ZZS’s. Free to a good home. But collection would need to be from Rayleigh, Essex. Cheers.
  8. Not sure if its exactly what you are after but have you seen these:- Uber Niche
  9. From the numerous times I’ve taken my headlights out I found that if the headlight clips are not in the right places it can make it difficult/impossible to close properly. Even once they were in the right places those “nubbins” you have circled did provide enough resistance to provide an audible “pop” when enough pressure was applied to close the parts together.
  10. Really enjoying following this build. Great detail and photos. Wonderful work, I look forward to the next update.
  11. Thanks Jonathan. I did see a system that can be fitted to bike rear lights that has an integral accelerometer which does the deceleration blink but its far more than I would want to spend on something like that for a car. Its only a fleeting thought and thought I would ask fellow members if they had them etc.
  12. Afternoon all, Couple of questions:- 1) Does anyone know the thread of the SPA GP1 mirrors? Currently refurbing mine and want to replace the screws at the top that fix it to the stanchion. 2) Has anyone fitted one of those “Blinky” brake light things? Being in a car thats lower to the ground I was thinking of fitting one to just the rollbar brake light but not sure if I should bother. Cheers All.
  13. No mention of why they fail? Any material analysis results come back? I live in a vain hope that they publish some kind of results/reason for the failures. But its CC I suppose 🤷🏻‍♂️
  14. How old is the fluid you are replacing? Personally I would get a brake fluid tester and see how bad it is/isn't before going through the hassle of changing it. I wouldn't take the testers answer as gospel but its certainly a good indicator.
  15. Received mine today. I’ll let you know once I’ve fitted them. Offered them up earlier and they fit the rollbar perfectly. Also I was surprised at how rubbery that TPU was. I was expecting something far less flexible. I was waiting for an invoice or something to come through aswell. How much do I owe you?
  16. Saw you in Southbourne Grove today around 2pm. Unfortunately I was one of the guys cheering on that site you passed. We were only cheering because we saw a Caterham and we are an owner and previous owner. Sorry if we made you uncomfortable 🙂
  17. Just filled out the form. My Double Diagonal roll bar on my 2005 CSR has a diameter of just over 38mm on the top horizontal bar.
  18. I'm going to guess Ferodo DS pads
  19. Sorry to hijack the thread, but what are those nuts on the base of the Spa mirrors? Mine tightened up from behind the base and are always sagging down.
  20. I asked for a heelpad on the Autostyle ones but it was half way down the mat so unstitched it. My own ones havent got a heelpad or binding as the the ones that came with the car when my late father purchased it didn’t have either so just did a like for like replacement. Theyve been on the car for the past 12-13years and lasted ok, just a bit tired. The old mats vs the autostyle ones. You can just about make out where the heelpad was placed and compare it to where my heels actually rest:-
  21. Thought I would update this. I purchased the “diplomat” set of mats from Autostyle and although they are fine quality mats, the fit wasn’t great. The original ones lap up the side of the footwells slightly and cover the bare ally skin. They also didn't have the relevant cut outs in certain areas. So decided to make myself a set and bought PVC backed carpet from ebay:- PVC Backed Carpet Arrived on a roll and its pretty decent stuff. Slightly better than the standard stuff so should last well.
  22. I bought this:- https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/275712794779?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=x0rk_uAMRSq&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=m7NV-5oRR3q&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY to go around my roll bar in an attempt to make a draft excluder. Fits the roll bar perfectly but doesnt allow for any room to stick/sew the airtex mesh to. It can be cut easily and various notches cut out to allow for cables, but in your case maybe to get it to fit around the corners. Its removable so if it wears just cut another length.
  23. Nice write up. It seems you are just around the corner from me. I may well pop round with my CSR for a power run to see what shes actually putting out. Bog standard map and although perfectly fine to drive, she does run rich.
  24. That's exactly my outlook on the Lithium battery scenario. I'm just a dry weather spring/summer road driver so I don't need a lithium, so while banner holds up I'll keep with it. Also the 3-4x price difference plus upgrading the charger/conditioner just isn't worth the 5kgs weight difference. I don't even notice the difference if I go out for a drive and have a meal out halfway through. I just drive 😄
  25. I’m assuming its a drop in replacement and comes with an inbuilt BMS.
