I was just coming out of HQ in London Road, finishing a bit early, did you manage to dodge most of the rain?

Christmas Eve, 3pm ish, Paul driving his 7 into Devizes, roof down in the drizzle, well done you! Happy Christmas Paul
  4. Bri - was out watching on Sunday at the Roy Fedden Memorial event near Bath - held in woodland, nice twist to the normal field events. In relation to sales, I guess you're aware of this site? here
  5. Sporting trials cars have an amazing lock, if you've never experienced this form of motorsport check a local event out - good days entertainment and a really nice bunch of people! http://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-8ca8kWU6yjc/UKFjKN19x6I/AAAAAAAAK0w/2Ua2-ol55oU/s640/IMG_4605v2.jpg
  6. photos 9 and 10 in my set above shows the GTKY7 rear axle stand positions, and jacking point was the centre bit
  7. My GTKY7 showed front jacking at tow point, then axle stand support under crucifix, but leaving jack in place - photos from the day here: here - photos 11 and 12
  8. Thanks All, checked the tyres as advised and they do feel a bit 'saw-tooth', as they are nearly end of life anyhow my next step will be to replace them and see if that makes any difference
  9. Graham - check out the pictures in here that I took at a GTKY7 day a while back when the new lowered headlamp bracket first appeared... PHOTOS HERE note especially the last photo which shows direct comparison Edited by - RS2000 on 24 Oct 2012 08:45:10
  10. I'll give that a go in the morning, thanks Ian
  11. Good shout Ian, did check the tyres for trapped stones and general wear but they appear ok, it'll be worth swapping front to rear though just in case....
  12. My 2004 Ford Focus is my daily commuter - done 70K+ miles. When the family came in the car the other day they commented on how noisy it was - guess I hadn't noticed due to perhaps a gradual increase in the noise. It's not engine, it is a grumbling or rumbling from the rear. the note changes with speed and is louder on right hand bends than left hand bends. My thoughts were instantly wheel bearing, so had the car up on the jack on the weekend, but no play in either wheel (or the fronts, I checked just in case) and they seem to spin ok with no noticable grinding or noise, and spin well enough. As a just in case I check brake wear and brake disc rust build up and gave them a good clean - but no difference. Do you think I am on the right track with the likely culprit being wheel bearings and if so any other 'test' I can do before I take the plunge and replace them? Thanks
  13. Just testing... Edited by - RS2000 on 21 Oct 2012 21:12:06
  14. Check out these photos: here they show the headlamp bracket that you first linked to fitted to cars - also check out the last photo which shows a good comparison - note that as well as lowering it also moves the headlamp further forward which is possibly why there is no issue with the cycle wings
  15. I've never used anything on top of Belgom Alu, as it says on the carton it does seem to leave a 'waxed like' finish that beads water etc
  16. Thursday 4th October, around 5.30pm, M4 motorway eastbound between Chippenham and Swindon - 'Daisy', well it was an academy car with the registration that ended DSY, on a trailer, black BMW tow vehicle (I think) in a horrible cloudburst! Been to a track day somewhere? Castle Combe perhaps?
  17. is that a brand name for the 0-40w oil??
  18. don't forget you can get hammerite in yellow too...

    A4 Wiltshire

Orange 7 on the A4 Beckhampton Roundabout (between Marlborough and Calne) at around 5pm today Friday 28th September
  20. Set of 3 travelling westbound on M4 near Hungerford junction at 9am Sat 8th Sept - tricky to see because of the central reservation but I think all were aeros(?) (I was going the other way in the tintop off to Legoland for the day!)
  21. Hi All, photos from Curborough2, 1st lot at the top hairpin was 1st timed run before lunch, 2nd lot from down near the finish line were timed run 2 immed after lunch break. Only had time to do a bulk tweak of these... If anyone wants any copies just blatmail me, anything I send out will have personal attention ie properly cropped etc and will be an improvement on what you see here. Thanks for the entertainment today Photos Here Edited by - RS2000 on 30 Aug 2012 16:04:57
  22. Thanks SM25T, went with Titanium7's suggestion first - easier to get to... Took the bolt off, cleaned it all up and bingo! indicator working again! Many thanks to you both for the super speedy response and the solution *thumbup*
  23. I have checked previous threads but doesn't quite help... Go out today and the rear nearside indicator is not working. Buy a bulb whilst I'm out and changed the bulb but no help. It does not light with the hazards either. All other lights in the rear nearside cluster work ok. All other lights on the car work ok. The connections inside the bulb holder all look ok, no corrosion etc. The small blade 'earth' within the light cluster is clean. I know the answer will be it's an earth problem..... but where is the earth point for this cluster? (and if it is an earth problem, why aren't other lamps affected?) Many thanks
  24. Ordered mine today - obviously a while since anyone has as Kirsty asked me what the special price was... Of course I was honest!!
