  1. A need a spigot bearing and sleeve for a 1800K , 99 vintage. CC are out of stock and wanted to do this on the B/H weekend. Can anyone advise where I could get one in time?
  2. A 99 T Reg may not need a CAT for the MOT – not all MOT stations realise this Was it a kit build? Need your VIN number to check. You may be one of the luck last. Apologies - just re-read - factory build Edited by - Bob L on 19 Apr 2013 13:19:48
  3. for Stationary M25 Traveller No 4 primaries are the same so difficult to use anyone else's template. Suggest you align one pipe at a time and carefully cut away the skin until the pipe settles comfortably against the block without touching the skin, aim for a 5mm comfort gap around the pipe then move onto the next one and repeat. They will all be on and off several times and more space you allow, the easier this becomes. Your only cutting ali so this does not take as long as you would think. I have approx 10mm gap around all pipes on the finished hole (more of a trapezium) and can still struggle to get the last one bolted up so take your time and enjoy the process. Oh and only file on push stokes so as not to lift the paint. Good luck.
  4. I've just done mine (1800K, 1999) over the new year and found some of the suggestion on parts a bit confusing. I just wanted a basic set-up without an additional oil pressure light as suggested under the FAQ page. A chap called Collin West supplied the info below which I used and found it to be perfect for my requirements. Well almost..for my installation I took the OP feed through the bulkhead where the speedo cable enters and that makes the TFE hose a little long (by approximately 150mm) but better too long than too short and the excess is easily taken out with a small discreet loop. Other than that, it was spot on. It's a good simple project that everyone will claim they completed in 27 mins but take your time and enjoy. From start to finish to took me 2 hours including jacking up and tea breaks. The Company is Think Automotive Ltd 0208 568 1172 info@thinkauto.com 1 x Oil pressure gauge (0- 100psi) Product code OPG100 2.13metres TFE Hose -3 Black cover Product code TFE3B 2 x 1/8 BSP FML ST SWAGE S/S CVX Product code H650-18C- CVX 2 x FERRULE FOR -3 TFE HOSE Product code FERSS-03 1 x STEEL M/M 1/8BSPXM12X1.5 Product code MMS5-3-45 1 x M12X1.5 WASHER ALLOY Product code WAM12 This Is for an M12 sender which I think most K series have although you need to check as some are M10 (Just measure the sender thread). If you have M12 then easier to quote order ref OR280642 16th November 2010. Ask them to supply as per this order and don't forget to say that you are Lotus 7 club member for 25% discount. I paid £51.34 Delivered 1st Class. The hose is coated so shouldn't be an issue with electrics behind dash. I just pushed the hose through the top of the gearbox tunnel were the main loom goes through and feed it around the drivers side (away from exhaust) and into the old sender housing.
  5. I'd settle for an electric hood and heated seats 😬
  6. Is your MOT immanent and what engine do you run? I’m sure someone could lend you one to remove some of the urgency. I could loan a K series can with Cat if your in the Bexleyheath / SE London area.
  7. I think your all reading this wrong. As its capitals, John is either shouting, in pain or both. I assume the car has rolled onto his foot on 2nd Dec, HE is now stuck there not the car. The AA have managed to start it but he's got a job's worth that won't push it off his foot. After all this time his mobile battery is now dead thus no further communication. All this and I can honestly say I have no formal training as a detective. I expect your all reasonably impressed and feeling a little foolish 😬
  8. Arrived yesterday - thanks for all your work on our behalf Now where am I going to put it....
  9. The times I’ve jumped into a complicated scenario because I didn’t believe the simple solution could possibly be the answer. Glad this story has a happy ending and letting us know the outcome.

    Gone mechanical

So, with the Apollo the pressure still drops but not as much?

    Gone mechanical

That's great, thanks. Just needed a rough ref point.

    Gone mechanical

Today's project was to go mechanical and all went well. So I've now moved from bar to psi and had 65 psi on start up, no leaks (phew). Too wet to take it for a run but what psi should I expect to see once warm and moving and at idle. It's a 1800 K.
  13. Nothing I'm aware of. Its a std bolt that should come out like any other.
  14. I would have thought they would need to be within ‘safe tolerances’ when sold otherwise its an issue for Trading Standards. I believe older units can be checked buy your local TS Office, there may well be a fee though.
  15. You have BM relating to the outdoor cover. Rgds, Bob

    Heater Leak ?

I had similar symptoms for 3 months. Retightened everything and then changed the hoses but the problem wouldn't go away. It was the matrix but due to its positioning, the gentle weep was not visible until I dismantled the unit for examination. I hadn't pre-ordered the unit but just bypassed for the week with a half inch connector while I placed the order with Clayton's. A nice simple job and access couldn't be more convenient Add a bleed tee if you haven't already done so. Good luck.
  17. Thanks Ian, I now have a good basis for the shopping list How did the filling go after the mod and have you noticed any difference in running temperature on the gauge?
  18. Exactly what I want to see in Low Flying and BC. Sound tech advice that deliver improvements for peanuts 😬 Hopefully, once Ian has completed his install we will have a complete shopping list using new components with hose sizes. Its not just getting it done, it’s a willingness to share such info with others I feel a tear coming on….
  19. Ian, Did you replace the expansion bottle hose to the proposed Tee piece position, as from the diagram this looks like it needs extending. If yes, can you advise what size you used? In addition, If anyone knows the hose size from the expansion bottle to the head as I’d like to replace this at the same time. Just asking on the off chance that someone has already completed this work with a good memory
  20. May not be….Changed the battery on mine recently and found the rivets holding the battery tray very slightly loose which appears to have been causing a tapping sound to be present when not accelerating or breaking. Drilled out and replaced the rivets – then added a couple more as there is a lot of weight here. Just wondering if your new battery sits slightly differently eliminating the sound issue. Even if its not, well worth checking as a loose battery / tray under braking can cause a lot of damage ☹️
